Summary: a little unbelievable
Review: This book was a little unbelievable, but it did keep me reading. I went form having little or no sympathy for Lynne to having more as she confronted her own communication issues and learned from them. The characters were somewhat under-developed. As a reader, it was frusterating to know who betrayes Lynne before she's willing to believe it herself. A fast read that does lightly examine the communication isseus between men and women. Though the book does ove simplify the subject, it's still a page turner.

Review: This is a great read and very funny. This book is especially geared toward women. I couldn't put it down. I can relate to everything Lynn Whyman says about men and women. A deffinate must to add to your personal library.

Summary: Stayed up late to finish....
Review: This is my first book by the Jane Heller. The bright yellow cover caught my eye, the title interested me, the read was fun and fabulous. With the popularity of Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus, this book hits pay dirt featuring the differences between men and women. In short women affirm each other's feelings and men only affirm facts. The main character is the guide to women for men clients. She falls for her CEO client and also finds out she needs training too. Witty and enjoyable, I'll definitely return for more books by this author.

Review: this is the first book i've read by jane heller, but it won't be the last! i logged on to find out what other books heller's written, because if they're half as good as this one, i've gotta pick it up. the main characters are funny, interesting and very individual but not in a fake kind of way. you typically see that kind of character development in a drama or something, but this book is right on. don't get me wrong though - this book is VERY VERY funny.

Summary: A Hoot!
Review: This is the first book of Heller's that I've read, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. To those who didn't appreciate the humor, I would remind them that this book is a farce, and while I agree that no one would really expect (or, indeed, want) a man, especially in a professional situation, to talk about how dessert goes straight to his thighs, that's the whole point! Heller has a great time poking fun at both genders, and does it in such a witty, sly way that the reader laughs from cover to cover. Her characterizations are dead on, and the plot is very well executed. My only complaint is that I would have been more satisfied if some of the not-so-nice characters in the book really got their comeuppance, but then again, living well is the best revenge. In short, highly recommended!

Review: This is the first time I've ever written a review but ater I finished Female Intelligence, I just had to! This book was hilarious! I couldn't believe how hard I laughed at some parts. It was very unlike me to crack up out loud, but I just couldn't help it. The observations Jane Heller makes about the way men speak are so dead-on, and Brandon Brock is such a likeable character despite how "macho" he seems at first. .... This book is definitely 5 stars, and now I'm going out to read the rest of Jane Heller's books!

Summary: Heller Needs To Bail Out Of Mystery Genre
Review: This novel starts out with a great premise, delivers on it for about halfway through and then falls apart. It's fine while linguist Lynn Wyman is teaching America's toughest boss, Brandon Brock, how to deal with and talk with women better so that he can lose his front cover position on "Fortune" in that category. She is so earnestly into her methods and he is so obviously lighter on his feet that they make a great romantic comedy connection. I liked her deadpan to his brashness. They were great foils for one another. Where it rapidly starts falling apart though is adding a mystery into this story. The mystery serves solely to pad out the storyline and make the book longer. This mystery is thin and involves her ex husband and her four closest friends. I had a great time for half a book. Perhaps Heller has spent too much time writing the same romance-mystery-comedy type book again and again and it is time for her to try something new. If she decides to abandon one of those blended genre elements in future novels, my suggestion is to make it the mystery one. It has always been her weakest element in her novels (I've read them all) and she is not getting any better in the mystery genre. Truthfully, she's getting worse. In romance and comedy, however, she can more than hold her own. She does an exceptional job with Jewish American humor, her best being "Sis Boom Bah" about two sisters, rivals for marrying a heart surgeon who just operated on their mother.

Summary: Hopeful Romantic
Review: This was my first Jane Heller Book. I was totally impressed with her wit and abiity to laugh at women as a species. I readily enjoy an author with a genuine sense of humor. Romance and comedy, that combimation is hard to beat. I also enjoyed the secondary story of the relationship between the women. The only other thing I would have added, would be a little more romance and development of the relationship between the main characters. I look forward to reading her other works.

Summary: Female (NON)Intelligence
Review: Truly one of the worst, most predictable, pieces of pap I've ever read. Perhaps her other books were clever, but I honestly can't find a single compliment, however reaching, to pay this piece of junk. Kept feeling as if I'd seen this TV movie about 15 or 20 years ago. Certainly read more like a failed screenplay than a novel,with its cliche dialogue and rudimentary narrative. I'm sure Ms Heller is a lovely woman, and as my mother would probably say, she'd probably read this review and laugh all the way to the bank. It was a clever premise fully unrealized.
