Summary: Powerful, moving, provocative
Review: I found this book by L.A. Marzulli to be a thrilling novel, a real page turner. It certainly approaches the subject of UFO's in a thoughtful and provocative way. I'd highly encourage anyone interested in UFO's to give it a read...unless, of course, they have some sort of bigoted, anti-Christian perspective as the previous reviewer seems to have.

Summary: A literal deus ex machina
Review: It seems today that many authors begin a book with energy and continue eloquently until it's time to wrap up the book. Nephilim began with a wonderful concept but in the end became too fantastic and shallow, as if there were a deadline for the author. I was prepared for a great battle between the forces of good and evil, but it simply didn't happen; God appeared and wrapped up the book. I'm not a prophet, but can we say sequel "Great Deception"? Not quite as trite as Heaven's War, more interesting than a dictionary, but it's a book I'll only read once.

Summary: I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO ANYONE IN THE UFO COMMUNI
Review: I FOUND THIS BOOK TO BE A COLLECTION OF MINOR ANECDOTAL ITEMS FROM THE UFO FIELD SURROUNDED BY FUNDAMENTAL RELIGIOUS ADJECTIVES; FOR EXAMPLE, DESCRIBING THE ALIENS AS "DEMONIC". I EXPECT A GRADE B FILM SCRIPT TO FOLLOW.

Summary: Excellent. Well-written and thought-provoking.
Review: I wasn't exactly sure what I was getting into when I started this book -- and then I bought one to give to a friend! I loved not only the writing style but the pacing of the story. Hope to see this writer produce another book soon.

Summary: spiritual sci-fi page-turner
Review: Saw this in a magazine review recently and read over the past weekend - a real page turner due to the excellent use of technology, government conspiracy - "Area 51" description and use of computers/internet w/encyption etc. - I was intrigued by the premise about alien interaction with humans thru history - a thought I've had myself! - and the author paced the book well w/ action and suspense - some good images of the tension in middle east - Readers should be aware that the the book develops quickly into a Christian allegory and relys on traditional images/concepts from the bible to save the day as it were - while a good read from the sci-fi POV, most reviews do not mention this religious moral theme

Summary: Fiction for the "X-Files" type...
Review: Tying modern "x-files" phenomena to ancient "mythology," the author takes you on a fast-paced trip through conspiracy on a cosmic scale. An easy, enjoyable read, yet full of drama, great characters and a surprise twist.

Summary: A great read!
Review: I found this book fascinating and fast paced. Nephilim made me see the whole alien issue in a different light. It was realistic and, at times, terrifying. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking for a great read!

Summary: WHAT A RIDE!! READ THIS BOOK!!
Review: Nephilim is an incredible journey! The combination of a swift-moving plot, sophisticated character development and an amazing other-worldly quality makes this book impossible to put down. This book is also takes on a spiritual quest for both the reader as well as the protagonist. It makes you question your core beliefs. READ IT and give it to a friend! IT'S GREAT!

Summary: Unique and exciting
Review: What a great cross between science fiction and Christian fiction! I am hard to please in both genres, but Nephilim delivers good "aliens among us" suspense combined with a demonic plot to destroy Christianity. The main character "Mac" is a middle aged reporter who has lost his faith for the past two years following the death of his son and the breakup of his marriage. He has fled to the bottle for his comfort, and is on the brink of losing his damaged career entirely. Mac gets a chance for the story of his career, involving secret government installations and mysterious claims of alien abduction. He travels to Israel to see the remains of an almost-human giant referred to in the Bible as "Nephilim." His lukewarm interest turns into commitment to saving the world. The characterization is excellent. The plot is far-fetched, but hey--this is science fiction. So...get this book and sit back in your easy chair for an enjoyable mini-vacation!

Summary: How did this book get published?
Review: I bought The Nephilim with high expectations, mostly due to the great reviews and the book's position on the bestseller lists. The plot also sounded quite intriguing. When it arrived in the mail, I took the night off and settled in for some great reading. Unfortunately my night of leisure turned into one of sheer agony by the time I reached the sixth chapter. I just paid good money for this novel but I don't think I can endure much more of the fifth grade level prose, the absurd dialog, or the nonsensical plot twists, and I'm not even referring to the alien abductions. I finally had to put it down and go read a few paragraphs out of a truly well-written novel (Mark Frost's The List of Seven, in case you were wondering) just to cleanse the mental palate. I assume that as the story unfolds, the events themselves far surpass the words used to describe them, and the reader finally becomes oblivious to the made-for-tv-movie quality of the text. This is the only reason I can see for why such a badly written novel could garner such high praise from its readers. I suppose if you're looking for an easy-to-follow airport read, this might fit the bill, but there are so many better novels out there worthy of your time. I'd keep looking.
