Summary: Hero grows to be a man under exacting cirumstances.
Review: Although bittersweet at times, the author has done a fine job of letting us see the main character grow up. The character development IS astonishing. Very few books will move you like this one will. However...read the first book, Asassin Aprentice. You will not be disapointed.

Summary: I'm thrilled to have found Robin Hobb!
Review: One of the best new voices in Fantasy. Can't wait for the next series.

Summary: A novel full of emotions..
Review: I am impressed with Hobb's characterization. This book is not just a fantasy novel but an exploration of humanity. She makes you feel the pain of each character - their doubts, fears, and regrets - but also shines a ray of light of a better tomorrow. She also breaks from the traditional godly, fantasy hero. Fitz still possesses the traditional god-like powers but Hobb executes by keeping him human.

Robin Hobb's style is a mix of Anne Rice's poetry, Robert Jordan's passion, and Raymond E. Feist's ingenuity. A wonderfully written story!!!

Summary: Best book I have ever read
Review: Royal Assassin is the best book I have ever read. I couldn`t let it out of my hands for a minute so I read it twice on a weekend.

I especially liked the sadnes in the book, but at the same time there was hope. You Know that everityng is going to turn well, but you can`t help wondering how? The caracters are cleaverly made and they are varied. Many questions are left unanswerd, for reader to find out.

Robin Hobb has created this book so clevearly that even if you read it three times, like I did, it doesn`t lose anything; the book is still exiting and you can even discover somethin that you didn`t find at the first reading. I thought earlier that there are no better books than David Eddings`s books but Royal Assassin is definitely something outstanding. I`m looking foreward to read Assassin`s Quest.

Summary: A DREAM ENVOKING BOOK
Review: I really enjoyed the series, but this one the most. In the later chapters Robin painted such a beautiful picture in my mind, I started having dreams of the book. I was a wolf walking through the snow covered forest, hunting deer and rabbits. It draws you in to it. And I've loved wolves since childhood. Fitz goes through a lot but hey what does'nt kill you makes you stronger.

Summary: good
Review: The charictors in this book were much more than any other fantasy book I have read of late. The ending was odd but setup for the conclusion. I had to finish the book today while I was trying to call my dog with the wit, I am not witfull.

Summary: Good plot, not so great story or writing
Review: I loved the plot. The concept is excellent, the writing is okay, but the story, in particular the character interaction, leaves much to be desired. I finished it because I wanted to know what happened to the characters, so obviously there's some worth to it. But I really had to force myself to finish the book, and only my interest in the outcome kept me going. I'm not sure what's wrong with it. The characters are interesting, not two dimensional, but they simply couldn't hold my interest.

Summary: Surprise ending
Review: I've read fantasy for about 30 years and I was sure I could predict the ending...wrong! Hobb takes a fairly standard story and does new things with it. I have not read the third book but but have great expectations. As far as I'm concerned, Hobb writes better than Tad Williams or Robert Jordan.

Summary: Book two, still great
Review: The second book in the farseer trilogy is still very impressive, as was the first.Robin Hobb gives us characters that seem quite believable in their actions.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Not as good as the first, but...
Review: Yeah, this book was good - not as good as the first, which I absolutely hated at first, the reread and fell in love with, but it definitely makes you think. It confuses you, plays with your head, and draws you in. And just wait... if you loved this book, but thought the ending sucked, just wait 'til the next one. I threw the thing up against the wall, I was so mad. Even though the endings to the books suck bigtime, however, they are wonderful books - it's just a love/hate relationship. Sadly, though... deep down in your heart, no matter how much you wish it to be otherwise... the endings are fundamentally RIGHT and totally consistent with the character. So, read it and enjoy it. But whatever you do, don't blame the author for the ending, blame the Fitz.
