Summary: It really is a good book, but....
Review: I have to admit, I was head over heels in love with book one. But something in this book....I don't know. It's a really good book all in all; maybe it's just that it doesn't end happily ever after. That might not be life, but I read books to get AWAY from life. And it sure didn't help that in the end the dog died....I hate those endings.

Summary: One of the best books I've read!
Review: This book is very emotional, everything Fitz does its like you experience it yourself. the plot is very good, the characters are very good,I'am looking forward in reading Assassins Quest.

Summary: It's nice to read a book when the Good guys suffer sometime!
Review: Ms Hobbs continues to amaze me with were she's going with Fitz and this tale. I'm committed now to see this out to the end in the "Asses Quest" book 3. Without Burrich, Chade, or the Fool, Young Fitz would no doubt be truly dead long by now. He has so much potential but can be pretty stupid at times (many times). Makes for an unlikely hero which is o.k. by me. Royal Ass is an excellent follow-up to Ass apprentice. Enjoy!

Summary: Awesome!
Review: Royal Assassin, and the entire Farseer trilogy, were the best books I've ever read. The author really brings the main character, FitzChivalry, to life. I felt like I was actually there with him. I have already recommended this book to all my friends. So far, 9 of them have read the series, and every single one of them has loved it. If you haven't it yet, do so now.

Summary: An engrossing book with a powerful ending
Review: In an era of turgid, dreary cliches from many modern fantasy authors, this was different. Right from the start the book was absorbing as you explored the trials of the characters and their development in a land of dark intrigue and sweeping war. Fitz was an original and fascinating character. A lot about this series was original and fascinating. It is similar in many ways to Memory Sorrow and Thorn by Tad Williams - especially in the depth of the characters and the engrossing setting. And the ending...without giving anything away, the ending was a stunningly dark but emotional achievement : one of the best if not the best of any fantasy book I have ever read (which is a considerable number). If you disagree, reread the ending and you will feel the mastery of the author, the emotion and dark depth. It left me hungry for Assassins Quest which rounds off the series.

Summary: Disappointed having such great expectations after book I
Review: I'm sorry to say that I feel let down by this book. I really have to put myself to finishing reading it to the end. Book 1, I thought was delightful in its detail, and wonderfully imaginative, innovative and creative. A feast for a hardcore fantasy reader. But in book 2 nothing new happens. No new features, no new people, no new supprices. A lot of not interesting ('cause its repeating itself) politics, and moving around with the same persons we have met in the first book. Rather boring. The situation of the hero is desperate from the start and remains this in an oppressive way. I've bought book 3 nevertheless. Still hoping that some of the quality I've seen in book 1 will return.

Summary: Fantastic Fantasy
Review: Marvellous I managed to lose days of my life as I got more and more involved with the Characters

Summary: I LOVED this saga and I never read this genre.
Review: Thank you Ms. Hobb for a spellbinding, totally absorbing and entertaining read! I just started Assassin's Quest and can't wait for Ship of Magic.

Summary: Late night page turner!!
Review: Couldn't put it down. Never have I found it so easy to believe in a way of magic. Character development is so real you can almost see them in front of you. I was a little disappointed in the ending, but only because I can't wait to find out what happens next.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Absolute page turner.
Review: From the moment I picked this book up, I spent all available time, no matter how small, reading it. You end up feeling so much for Fitz, loving him for both his good and bad traits, as you do with all the characters. They never seem one-dimensional, all having their weaknesses and strengths. What grips me the most though, is Hobb's writing style, she uses her words so lovingly. She knows when to go to rich detail and deep thought, and when to go to fast, hard action. A must read. The only reason I didn't give it a 10 is because the ending leaves you on too much of a loose thread, although my judgement is a little early, as I am as of yet eagerly awaiting the third book.
