Rating: Summary: Master and Padawan Review: Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan are now master and padawan. Thier first mission together is to observe an election on the planet Gala. But when enroute a fuel leak on thier vessle forces them to exit hyperspace. They are forced to land on Phindar, a planet ruled by an evil Syndicat. The citizens all live in fear of the Syndicat for they have the power to erase thier memories. Obi-Wan reunites with his friend Guerra and helps lead a rebellion in an attempt to over throw the Syndicat. This is another winner by Jude Watson. It takes off at a fast pace and never slows down. It was also interesting to know that a master gives his padawan a special gift on his 13 birtday. There is plenty of action like battles with assasination droids and a break in at Syndicat headquarters. I can't wait to read the next one The Mark of the Crown.
Rating: Summary: Not the best in the series, but far from disappointing Review: Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan continue their adventures together in Jude Watson's second installment in the Jedi Apprentice series, this time as Master and Padawan. They must overcome dangerous odds and face off against a ruthless and powerful faction in total control of a planet. Obi-Wan really shows special talents in this title, and it is yet another interesting look into the bond between Jedi, especially at this critical early stage in the relationship. Unfortunately, however, this book just seemed to lack the uniqueness of the others. It is exciting, but almost all the other books contain life-changing or crucially important events for the Jedi. This seems like just another mission. It does leave you wanting to read The Mark of the Crown, though.
Rating: Summary: Entence, Exciting, Can't Miss #3 Review: Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan have a tuching relationship that you can see in #3 The Hidden Past, when Obi-Wan was beaing renewed and Qui-Gon was morning for the loss of his padawans memory it was very tuching this book also shows a little bit of hummor in Qui-Gon. I hope that Jude Watson will make menny more Jedi Apprentice books in the foutour, and I hope that thay will come out very soon becouse I just can't get enough of them.
Rating: Summary: This series tends to get worse with every book. Review: That was OK, but I like to see more force powers in a book thatfollows Jedi Knights. Obi Wan's friends were immature, GROSSLYincompetent, and stupid. Obi Wan is as gullible as ever, and parsecs from the confident, self assured character I knew from the movies and the other, better books that I read. CLEARLY written down to small children in a way that is borderline offensive. There were points during this book that I wanted to scream, "I PASSED MY FIRST GRADE READING COMPREHENSION TEST!" Buy the Young, or Junior Jedi Knights instead, you'll thank me later.
Rating: Summary: And the story continues EXCELLENTLY!!!!!! Review: The author continues to flesh out not only the relationship between Obi-Wan and his mentor but also the personalities of both men. In addition, we continue to learn more about the beings which inhabit the galaxy "long ago and far away". I agree with the reviewer from New Orleans that a couple of parts of the story rush a bit, but suspect that publishing constraints may have been a factor here. I am looking forward to the next two volumes!!!!
Rating: Summary: excellent Review: the book is very well written. i have been waiting forever for obi-wan and qui-gon to be master and padawan. it could be longer though. i tried to read it slowly but i finshed it really quickly. these series are diffinitely my favorite!!
Rating: Summary: What a great birthday HE's having! Review: This book is great! It's starts off with Obi-Wan Kenobi's 13th birthday, he thinks Qui-Gon's forgotten that he's supposed to give his Padawan a gift. It takes Obi-Wan not paying much attention for Qui-Gon to ask if he is thinking about his birthday! He then preceads to give Obi-Wan...a rock?! Obi-Wan put's it in his pocket and he (and you) forget about it. They are then ready to go on there first mission together, to the planet Gala, to oversee elections for a new govenor, but on the way their pilot monuvers them onto a differant planet and then, dissapears. Later, after fighting off the assasin droids waiting as a welcoming part, they find their pilot. And almost amidiatly get tangled up in a fight for freedom on that planet, of Phindar! Oh, (if you have read Dark Rival) guess who is back? The phindian Guerra! In the prosses of the fight for freedom, Obi-Wan gets captured and taken to the leaders, where he is told he must suffer the worst fate, the loss of his memory! Now Qui-Gon, Paxxi (pilot), and Guerra, along with a few other friends, have to raid the treasury while the leader is trying to trade with the prince of, you guessed it, GALA! Obi-Wan, who is waiting for for them to come and erase his memory, suddenly discovers that his rock, is no ordinary rock! I won't give away the ending, but I really reckomend this exciting book! Oh quick note, don't ever try to figure out Obi-Wan's birthday by the publish date of this book or book 11 (when he turns 14) because if you do, you will get three differant answers (January, April, and July)!
Rating: Summary: Age group? What age group? Review: This book is literally amazing. Jedi Apprentice and Dark Rival were great, but this book really outdoes itself. The plot was fairly original, which is more than I can say for certain "Adult" Star Wars authors. I wish we could have seen more into Qui-Gon's thoughts when he was afraid that Obi-Wan would lose his memory, though. Maybe then he wouldn't seem like such an icicle. But the description of the memories was great, and it really gave you an insight into Obi-Wan's past. Note to certain dissatisfied readers: There IS a reason Qui-Gon is so distant from Obi-Wan. Remember *Dark Rival*? A guy named Xanatos? Qui-Gon let himself care about the kid, and basically got his fingers burned. After all that, who WOULDN'T wait a little while before trying it again? It makes perfect sense to me, but them I *AM* a teenager, and therefore I know everything in the world. ;) May the Force be with y'all!
Rating: Summary: WOW! A great prequel book to the new movie!!!! Review: This book rocks! When I got the first one as a present, I was hooked. Then I couldn't wait to get my hands on the second book and this one. Jude Watson has a great imagination!!! Now, since the 4th book in in the process of being written, I'm reading this one over and over again...
Rating: Summary: An Absolutely GREAT book! Of course. Review: This book was a great pleasure to read. Right now it's my favorite Star Wars book and my favorite Jedi Apprentice book. For anyone who hasn't read this book, you should read it. And the rest of the series. I was happy to read about Guerra and hear a little about Owen, Obi-Wan's brother. The only problem about the Jedi Apprentice books is since I live in Austalia I have to wait longer for the books to come out.
