Summary: 1945 - Alas no two!
Review: It was an entertaining book. While the raid was a bit of a strech, but so were other things like the Doolittle raid or the Dam busters and the countless commando raids, which were all seen in WWII. It is disappointing since it sets you up for a good series and then fails to deliver due to people letting politics get in the way of a good book. It ain't Clancy, but it was a good idea.

Summary: Good Alternative history
Review: I am also looking for book 2, The only part of the book I did not like, was the fact that it does not finnish the story. I was ready to follow the characters in next book, AKA W.E.B. GRIFFEN, But alas no next book. It might have helped sales if Gengrich's name was left off cover. A lot of people are like me and do not trust anything written by a politician.

Summary: Good theory and lots of fun
Review: The theory that Germany wins WW2 is plausible to say the least. The attack on Oakridge was a little stretch; but so was many of Germany's manuevers (blitzkrieg through France and the Crete operation). The character development was satisfying although not as complete as I sometimes enjoy. The special touches were great. The battle for England to come, Seargent York, the atomic bomb, etc.. Lots of fun

Summary: great book Newt! when is the sequel coming?
Review: quickly gets your attention. very enjoyable read. certainly makes you think about what might have been.

Summary: This book is garbage
Review: They call this science fiction? A blatant rip-off of PhilipK. Dick's THE MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE, not to mention SS/GB by LenDeighton or a bunch of other books. I recommend you go to your local Mega-Book Store and toss all copies in the trash -- that's what I do.

Summary: Well, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be...
Review: ...but that would be hard to do. It's basically straight military fiction, revolving around the planning, execution, and fighting off of the strike on Oak Ridge - but for the AH theme, it could be a middling Tom Clancy book. Danger, Will Robinson: Much to your surprise, you will discover in the last chapter that this book has at least one unwritten sequel planned, and thus it just sort of ends in the middle of the setup for the next book (and as sales were... disapointing for the first book, a second now is unlikely). And this setup strikes me as stretching disbelief just a bit. Not something I'd recommend buying, but if you're bored, and it's available at the library...

Summary: Not bad...but a bit of a stretch
Review: 1945 reminded me of a typical Hollywood shoot-em-up....long on action, short on plot. I was surprised that Newt, whom I admire and know to be a student of history, would settle for such a stretch in credulity. I generally like alternative histories, but they do have to be plausible. 1945 simply wasn't

Summary: ONE OF THE BEST ALTERNATE HISTORY BOOKS EVER.
Review: THIS BOOK HAS ALL THE MAKINGS OF A GREAT BOOK. THE END SIMPLY DROVE ME CRAZY. TWO OUTSTANDING THUMBS UP TO MR. GINGRICH ON THIS ONE. IT WAS ALMOST AS GOOD AS HIS CONTRACT WITH AMERICA!! WAY TO GO MR. GINGRICH. I AM BEHIND YOU ALL THE WAY

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Well thought-out alternate history by a controversial author
Review: Mr. Gingrich has written a well conceived, fast moving novel with an interesting (if not entirely original) premise. If not for the distaste many readers (yours truly included) hold for the author's politics, it would probably sell rather well. I find myself looking forward to the sequel, even though I may not read it in public. All in all, I wish Mr. Gingrich well, and hope that he takes up writing full-time. I will happily buy and read his books to encourage him in this

Summary: I read this book, I enjoyed this book!
Review: Great alternative history. Although there were obviuos attempts to correllate to today's political environment, I felt involved and look forward to book # 2. By the way ...where is book #2
