Summary: Adorable
Review: Any teen girl would adore this novel. The plot is far fetched, which makes the book even more lovable. The girl's mother turns out to be a lesbian, and she is forced to move with her dad to England. There, she meets a nice, good-looking boy, and he happens to be the prince. She remembers her old crush back at home, and her friends, and they communicate through e-mails. The end went real quick, but it was still an awesome book after all.

Summary: Cute and fun teen romance.
Review: Fifteen-year-old Valerie's life is turned upside down when her mom decides to leave her dad for another woman. And because Valerie's dad worked for the very politically conservative President of the United States, he now has to find a new job in order to avoid a scandal. He gets a position as protocol chief to the royal family of Schwerinborg, a small European country. Rather than live with her mom and her girlfriend, Valerie decides to go to Schwerinborg with her dad. At first she thinks it's a terrible mistake -- until she meets Georg, the very cute prince of Schwerinborg. But could a prince ever really fall in love with Valerie?

Teens who love light romances are sure to enjoy this fun, fluffy tale. It is sure to appeal to fans of Meg Cabot's books, and I can't wait to read the upcoming sequel. It's not the most original story in the world, but it's still really enjoyable and cute.

Summary: Finally!
Review: I read a lot of teen and young adult novels, and I HAVE to say that Valerie Winslow is the first character ever I can A) Relate to and B) Respect. OK, she watches more MTV than is strictly healthy, but she watches Buffy and she's intelligent and sarcastic and believably flawed and cool in the sense that she doesnt give a fly from the beginning. This is really one of the better teen novels I've ever read. It's funny and pointed and doesnt ignore things like computers, which a surprising amount of authors shy away from. The problems and characters are believable, as are the solutions. Yay for Niki Burnham.

Summary: A cute book with a fun and easygoing feel to it
Review: ROYALLY JACKED is one of those books that I've seen at the bookstore a few times, picked up, considered buying, and then found something else to get instead. Finally, after almost getting it about five times, I picked it up. All I can say is, I'm sorry that I didn't pick it up sooner.

Valerie isn't having the time of her life in high school, but she's not exactly a social leper, either. She has a small group of friends, but for the most part she's unknown. So when her parents get divorced (which would be bad enough, but her mom chose to leave her father...for another woman. In a small-ish town, this is big news, and Valerie is afraid of what all her peers will think about her.), she only has her three best friends to rely on. Until she finds out that she has two choices: move into a new apartment with her mom and Gabriella (her mom's girlfriend), or live with her dad...in a foreign country.

Valerie decides that she wants to live with her dad, because she'd rather not see her mom happy with anyone but her father. In Schwerinborg (the country that she's moving to with her dad) she meets - and falls for - Georg. Val thinks their relationship is great, until her dad tells her that Georg is actually the prince's son.

ROYALLY JACKED is a great book, with a hilarious plot, an original idea (minus the whole falling for a prince scenario), and memorable characters. I recommend ROYALLY JACKED to fans of The Princess Diaries, How Not to Spend Your Senior Year, and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.

Overall grade - A-

Summary: Royally Funny
Review: This book is great. I wish that it would never end. There needs to be a second written to tell us what happened between Val and her dad and when her friends found out about Georg.
