Summary: pretty entertaining.
Review: this book was pretty entertaining. at first i was reluctant to even cotinue with the book b/c i just was not interested enough by the cover lol. yes i kno i'm shallow, u're not suppose to jude the book by its cover but i did. it looked to me something a 12 year old would read. and i just not interested in that type of book. but i read it anywayz out of sheer boredom and i was hooked on it! i admit some of the parts were somewhat juvenile but i stilled enjoyed. i will read the sequel Spin Control: The Sequel to the Hit Royally Jacked Is Here!
By Niki Burnham when it comes out in jan. 2005 i believe.

Summary: I want More
Review: This book was really great. It had a great story and i thought that it had great suspense cause you don't know what's gonna happen between the Prince and Valerie until the very end. The only problem i had is the end leaves you hanging. I wanna know what happens between Valerie and her dad.

Summary: Typical Story But Awesome Still
Review: Valerie has everything a girl in high school could want. She may not be Miss Popularity, but she's not looking to be either, which is relieving because going after the Popularity Crown is getting a little old. Valerie does go after another crown though-- the one that sits on top of a royally cute Prince.

She moves to a country in Europe with her father because she refuses to live with her lesbian mother and life partner. The life partner is what bugs Val the most, but nonetheless, Val loves her mother deeply. Suddenly, Val is in a whole new world and is being swept away by Prince Charming (literally!).

This is a very cute read, and while the story is familiar, it's not SO familiar that you won't like this book. It's very funny, cute, and charming. Check this one out girls (or boys, if that's your pleasure!)... YOU'LL LOVE IT!!

Summary: Fun New Teen Fiction
Review: Valerie's life has never been better. She's got great grades in school, a very-potential boyfriend, she's semi-cool, and her friends are some of the best that a girl could ever wish for. But then things change. Valerie's mother not only announces that she's gay, but also that she's divorcing her father, and leaving him for her girlfriend, an organized vegetarian. Not only that, her father is leaving for a small European country, where he will be working for a royal family, and Valerie is forced with making a decision between living with her mother, or her father. But she doesn't realize that choosing to live with her father means that the Prince of a country might just turn out to be the perfect guy for her.

As a fan of HOW NOT TO SPEND YOUR SENIOR YEAR by Cameron Dokey, I decided to give ROYALLY JACKED a try. I was NOT disappointed. Valerie is a fun character, who's situations and friends remind you greatly of those found in Meg Cabot's best-seller THE PRINCESS DIARIES. Her father is a fun character and is someone who all girls will gladly trade their fathers in for. A must-have book for all fans of THE PRINCESS DIARIES, or anyone who's a fan of teen fiction, and royalty. You won't be disappointed.

Summary: Royally great!
Review: Valerie's life is great, including a great family, house, friends. Until her mom anounces that she's gay and she's leaving valerie's dad for her companion Gabrielle. Valerie agrees to stay with her dad, because I think we all can agree that would be way freaky. But her dad is moving to shwerinborg because he works in politics and it would be best if his life wasn't plastered on the newstands. Valerie goes with her dad knowing that they can come home in a year. But while she's there, living in the royal palace, she falls for the super cute "Georg", which she later finds out is the prince of shwerinborg. She realizes that this may not be the worst year of her life.

Summary: I loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: When I started reading this book I thought it was a little slow. But after I'd read more, I really started to get into it. It fuses comedy, drama and romance all in one. The story begins with Valerie learning that her mother is gay and wants to move in with her girlfriend, Gabrielle. Soon after, her father tells her that she has two choices. 1. she can move to a small German speaking country called Schwerinborg (which, no seems to know how to pronounce, calling it Smorgasbord instead). Or 2. she can move in with her mom and her vegan girlfriend, Gabrielle. After much thought of how her friends and every one she knows would find out about her mom, she chooses to live with her dad. There, she learns the German word for exit is "ausfahrt", that the McChicken sandwiches here have a strange onion sauce on them, and that at the end of every fairy tale, not every prince falls for the princess.

Summary: A new favorite
Review: When Valerie finds out that her mom is lesbian, she is devastated. How did this happen to her? Now she will have to choose who to live with, and there's the problem of what her friends will think once she tells them. So when Valerie's dad says he is moving to some tiny country that no one has heard of because of his new job (protocol chief for royal family), she decides to go with him because, let's face it, who wants to live with their lesbian mother and her girlfriend and transfer to a new school? Although Valerie is upset because she has to leave her friends and a potential boyfriend named David, she soon realizes that living in this new country could get pretty interesting, considering there is a young prince her age living in the palace (Valerie and her father have an apartment there since her father works for the royal family). The only reason I did not give this book 5 stars is because it is somewhat predictable, but it is still worth your money to buy it.

Summary: Cute, fun, quick
Review: When Valerie's mother announces not only that she wants a divorce, but that she is leaving her husband for another woman, life is turned upside-down. But it isn't long before Valerie discovers dealing with her friends' reactions and working through her own shock are small potatoes compared to the decision she must make: a) live with mom and her new vegetarian girlfriend, or b) move to Schwerinborg with her father, who has just been hired as protocol chief for the royal family. Well, what teenager wouldn't give living in a palace in Europe a try? So Valerie makes the move and is soon unknowingly befriending Schwerinborg's resident Prince Charming, Georg. But can an American teenage girl live up to royal standards?

This book was cute and fun, and I think it would appeal to many fans of the popular books for teenagers by authors such as Meg Cabot and Louise Rennison. The fictional foreign country isn't entirely convincing at times, but it doesn't really make this pretty short book any less enjoyable. I'm looking forward to the sequel.
