Summary: Rob Thomas has a great writers style.
Review: Rob gives so much heart to his writing. As a Senior in High School much of the views he writes from are what were experiencing. Not to sound mushy, but it was exactly how I fell. GOOD JOB ROB

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Not Much to read, Middle Schoolers will like it
Review: This book takes place in a high school, but I found this book to be a very trite portrayl of high schools. Future delinquents will find this book touching.

Summary: Loved it!
Review: Just happened upon this book one day in the library, and today I started recommending it to the kids I teach. I'm about to get Rob Thomas' other books - if they're half as good as "Rats" I'll be thrilled!

Summary: A brilliant first novel.
Review: This is the story of Steve York. A 17 year old high school genius who spends his time with a self formed school club called GOD, Grace order of Dadaists. It is the touching, witty, often humerous story of Steve's decline into being a pothead. It's a love story, without the mush. A great read for boys. Steve is sarcastic but thoughfult. He is a genius, but doesn't brag about it. His relationship with his father is sure to touch many young men. I loved this book.In this story, Steve is required to write a 100 page paper on any topic. He needs to do this in order to graduate high school. The story he writes is the meat of the novel. This book is a must read!!!

Summary: This book is needed!
Review: My father borrowed this book from the local library, and when he was done I picked it up. I loved it so much I let a friend of mine read it on the bus to a field trip. This book kinda bothered me at first with the ending being so sudden, but I learned that it was a perfect way to end it. I consider this book to be a book I shall include in my favorite literature collection along with "Even Cowgirls Get the Blues" by Tom Robbins and "The Theif of Always" by Clive Barker. It is a must read!

Summary: ROB THOMAS RULES!! **10 STARS**
Review: I love all of Thomas' books. He writes stories that are real and true. His characters sre realistic, they speak the way teenagers speak, and they act the way real teens act. He uses a lot of pop culture references also, but not enough to make the books dated. If you liked this, please read Satellite Down and Slave Day, too. THANK YOU ROB THOMAS!!!!!

Summary: I thought that this was an amazing book
Review: I really enjoyed reading this book. It has been promoted to one of my "comfort books," because reading it makes me feel like my problem's aren't as bad as the ones the poignat characters have to deal with. I'm starting a kids e-mail book club, so if you have any thoughts, good, bad or mediocre, e-mail me (Lucy) at the above adress.

Summary: 6 star book
Review: The good thing about this book is that it has many different faces. Most books are JUST love stories, or JUST comedy, or JUST drama. But this book will make you laugh, make you cry, and most of all, make you think, because it is written from a teenagers perspective. Teenagers can identify with steve. Also, that is what high school is like in Texas.

Summary: Rats Saw God is an excellent, realistic book for teens.
Review: great character development as well as a very interesting plot

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A totally realistic, funny book
Review: Anyone who's in or has been to high school will love this book. It is a wild ride through one high school experience, includes sympathetic and memorable characters, and takes you through the main character's heartbreak and eventual growth as a result. I recommend it.

By the way, the person who gave this book the one star review above not only got the main character's name wrong but also totally missed the point. The author explains WHY Steve got into Harvard despite low grades (because his father was an astronaut). Since Steve's relationship with his father was the main point of the book, this was a big thing to miss. I'd read it despite that.
