Summary: betrayal comes three fold
Review: Betrayal, betrayal, betrayal, that is all it seems Steve York experiences in this book, from his girlfriend, his favourite teacher and his mother.

We meet Steve York as the new kid trying to fit in and then finally getting the girl. He totally despises his father and refers to him as only the Astronaut, while he idolizes his mother and treasures his sister. He's rebellious, defies all the rules and does all he can to not be the person his father wants him to be. Incidentally trouble arrives when he goes to live with his mom. His relationship with his girlfriend deteriorates and he finds out she's cheating on him when we goes back to Houston to visit her and goes frantic when he couldn't find her anywhere. It so happened the only person he could think to go to was his teacher and there he saw his girlfriend's car and later sees her with his teacher through his window. What's even worse he eventually finds out his mother cheated on his fater and him making a point of hating his father for being the cause of his parent's divorce was for an absolute waste.

Steve York at the end of the book accepts his father into his life and goes on living seeing how fragile and incredulous certain things in life can be.

It's a book that shows that the thread of truth and certaintly is rather thin and at any moment life can make a total 360 degree turn leaving you to pick up the pieces and move on.
