Summary: Screen not under warranty
Review: After two months the screen went bad. It looked like a ripped sheet of paper.

The unit had not been dropped and has been kept in a padded case.

Toshiba sent a FEDEx bag for shipment and said the return unit would be in the mail the day after received. Never heard anything from Toshiba, we had to call and then they said the screen isn't under warranty. All contact has been made by us and we still don't know how much they will charge to fix it.

What a ripoff! Don't buy any Toshiba!

Summary: A great buy for a great price - Love this Pocket PC
Review: I absolutely love this Toshiba Pocket PC. I had been a Compaq IPAQ user over the past 2 years since dumping the Palm OS and thought I would be an IPAQ user forever. That is until I first saw the new Toshiba e330.

My Toshiba Pocket PC e330 has the latest Intel XScale processor running at 300MHz with 64MB of RAM, Pocket PC 2002 OS and the familiar tools like Word, Excel, Outlook and Media Player. The device also has a built-in Secure Digital (SD) media slot for additional storage space. I've used my SD card to backup my PDA as well as a holding place for my MP3. The built in Media Player makes this a great portable MP3 player.

This PDA is fast and I typically amaze people by playing full-screen video on the beautiful color screen. And the best part of the device is its incredibly thin profile and lightweight. It easily fits in your pocket and it just a great device. I highly recommend this PDA for anyone looking for an entry level device Pocket PC device as the price keeps on dropping.

Summary: Don't buy this if you want support or SDIO
Review: I bought the E330 because of features, form and price over the HP1910 which was a BIG mistake.

Toshiba provide no ROM support and if you want wireless you have to use Toshiba's overpriced Bluetooth card.

Here is my letter to Toshiba.

Official Complaint.
Why does the SD slot on my E330 not operate as SDIO, why is there no ROM Upgrade and why is there no product support available for my E330?

This is a relatively new machine, I only purchased it last May and yet when I contacted customer support in June about the lack of a real SDIO Toshiba already did not provide any support for it. I have contacted Customer Service several times about product support with total dissatisfaction.

In particular your product labelling and it's feature claims are designed to deceive or dupe the consumer. The box says "Built-in SD slot for additional memory and devices" and "SD slot for expandability".

If you are not going to provide support for this product then that is tantamount to duping the consumer by false advertising.

I have to soft reset the device almost every week due to unexplained lockups.

Please let me know where you would like me to send this unmerchantable product and confirm that you will provide a full refund to me. (I am serious)

Very dissatisfied customer

Summary: realy good except....
Review: I got this in december and i haven't stopped messing with it yet. There is so much stuff you can do on. When they say pocketpc they actually mean a pc in your pocket. I have one complaint. I bought the foldable Belkin keyboard for this so i could do word documents and it doesn't work. The day i got it I istalled it and the driver for it was extremly bad it didn't work at all. I tried to uninstall it so that i could re-install it but it won't let me. I am going to try and return it and get a new one and find a nerdy computer guy to get it to work for me. In conclusion the system is really good but the accesories aren't.

Summary: so far the best one
Review: i had a very limited budget and primarily was looking for a PDA (less than [$$$]). after reading review of all the PDAs and PPC available in the market i decided to buy sony's SJ30 model which is also a new one. It took me about a month to reach on that decision and only for the reason that other PPCs were very costly and were loaded with some features like Flash memory card and Wifi which i never need. my aim was simple - to keep list of all essential information i usually store on my outlook. and suddenly i found this one on the market. even it was little more on my budget, it was perfect and i am fully satisfied. my patience paid off at last. it is convenient, elegant and easy to use. there are very few add on softwares available in the market but i hope their number will go up soon. i recommend this to those who are used to microsoft's sytems like outlook etc and want a high end PDA means PPC.

Summary: It just works
Review: I have owned 2 palms leading up to this purchase and there is no comparison, the Pocket PC is great. It is fantastic the way you sit the device in the cradle when on my PC and it keeps my outlook and Pocket PC instantly synchonized without pushing any buttons or lifting a finger. My only complaint is not being able to take ledgible notes as easy as I would like. Bottom Line: Microsoft integration really does matter.

Summary: The worst mistake I've ever made
Review: I purchased my pocket PC on April 2003. This is so far the worst mistake I've ever made, it crashes constantly and it looses all the information stored in file at all times. The battery life is approximately close to garbage and their customer service is terrible, far from efficient, inpolite, and quite lazy. Had I known this product was a piece of garbage, I would have never, never bought it. In fact, I don't think I will ever purchase a Toshiba product EVER AGAIN.
