Review: I bought this pda in lieu of my old m130 which I was not quite satisfied due its speed. Anyway, the toshiba e310 is a great machine with its size and price. Though I'll be missing the bluetooth for awhile that is the reason why I gave a four but certainly I'm satisfied, I have my pocket bible, procad, image viewer all running on the same device, and I never encountered any crushed, power along well I always have my sync charger with me all the time and my external battery.

Summary: Very Nice Product and Competitive Price
Review: I have been using this for over six months and it is a very nice product. Good resolution and visibility in daylight, sync's very easily with the desktop and all around good product. I travel internationally and it travels very easily and is handy on the plane. Handwriting recognition is good, but could be better, and can be annoying at time. Word tends to lock up on large documents from the SD card, especially if there are lots of footnotes or formatting. Video is a bit jerky. It is not yet a replacement for the laptop, but that time may come.

Summary: Repeated crash and burn
Review: So I have had this device for over six months now, and it's a great toy, no questions. Often used as a WMA player with a SanDisk SD card, though I haven't downloaded any games onto it yet (will I ever?), and PocketTV is nice to watch trailers on.
I haven't had a PDA before. Nor do I use M$ Outlook. So most of the synchronization is useless for me. It's good to keep tasks, and take notes (including some data on Pocket Excel).
But... the battery life [is bad], and I have had repeated crashes and data loss (lost some notes I took down at a conference - UGH). Have had to load PocketTV couple times.
But my biggest gripe is the SD card. I couldn't get the ActiveSync to work properly, and now it seems to run if I take the SanDisk SD card out. Why on earth would SanDisk and Toshiba make their SD cards incompatible with each other? Can you imagine if a Lite-On or Yamaha CD-RW refused to work with a Maxell or Imation CD-R/RW?
I wonder if Toshiba fixed this problem with their later devices. I just called TechSupport, and the guy very nicely said I had run out my 90-day S/W support, and the SD card and ActiveSync (d-uh!) came under S/W. I am not paying ... for the call! Anyway, it seems to work now, so... Atleast Toshiba's TechSupport people are polite and nice even if Toshiba doesn't offer much of it (time-wise). And their website seems to [be bad] as well... oh well...
Maybe I should have stuck with the cheaper Palms... but toys for boys, and all that, y'know :)Avantgo is nice, but then... most of the stuff I could do on a cheaper Palm. Don't know about WMA, though - but now I have a separate MP3/CD player. Convergence is still far away...

Summary: Bad Choice
Review: My E310 is a piece of junk. I have sent the thing back twice and it comes back in the same condition. The company will not give me a replacement or my money back. I will never buy another product from Toshiba. I have never been able to charge the battery up to 100% even after 24 hours. There is a distinctive line that runs across the screen. I send it in for repair and it comes back the same way

Review: This is one great toy! :-)
Its affordable and its utility only now do I realize in keeping me organized. Infact many people wonder that does one really need a pocket PC to keep one's self organized? My answer to them is, Yes!
This is something like the cell phone - you don't really feel its needed unless you've used it. And Toshiba's Pocket PC with its affordable price, super cool look and great features gets you really hooked on to it.
Some of the really cool features: mp3 playback - excellent sound, great screen - rich images and colors, sound recorder, infra red - use to remote control almost any infra-red device :-) , and of course the other standard windows office products.
The one down side that I did notice is the address book. There are times when it doesn't display all the entries in it. Solution?? Just restart windows:-)
All in all, a great product at a great price

Summary: Great PDA for the price
Review: I've been using my toshiba for 4 months now, and I believe its a great model out there in the PDA market. Packed with Pocket PC 2002 OS, the e310 is thin and lightweight, copared to other pocket pc's out there. The pocket pc 2002 OS is far much better than the latest Palm OS. As you may know, it comes loaded with tons of software, familiar in the regular Windows environment. Pros. - Size, weight
- Crisp Screen, good speaker
- Fast processor
- A whole bunch of applications to use Cons
- It tends to crash sometimes, (erases all info, very annoying)
- Only 32MB (although SD expandable)
- Battery doesn't last as much as other PDA's My verdict: - For this price, excellent choice. (thats the reason for five stars)

Summary: Unreliable product and poor Toshiba support
Review: I would not recommend purchasing this product. The main reason is that Toshiba does not back their product beyond the warranty. Within six months of purchasing this PDA, it crashed three times and the company will not replace the product or refund my money. The will simply repair the item. Considering the situation, I don't feel this is appropriate.

Review: I bought this for my friend's birthday and let me tell you this is quite the PDA. To start, it is powerful. While it is not up to today's top of the line standards, it DOES suffice for any writing, note taking, or even gaming you may do with this device. The screen is one of the best out there, sporting a big LCD screen with extravigant colors. Also, the thing is as light as a feather, easily the lightest PDA ever! The thumb pad in the center is good for all types of gaming and other controlling you may need to do! You can hook this baby straight to a computer to transfer data, connect to the internet (internet is also available via wireless blue tooth), and much more! The Toshiba e310 charges within minutes and it lasts long! And all of this is on the latest Pocket PC Operating system and all for a regularly low price on Amazon.com! Go get this PDA now!

Summary: Unreliable PDA
Review: This is the most useless PDA I've ever owned. Stick with the Palm OS. For one, the battery life [isnt good]. If you travel, forget about it. Even on the lowest power settings, the unit will last at most 1.5 days. Twice already, the memory on my unit has been wiped out completely because the battery was low. Also, the cradle is very cumberson. It's a tight fit for the PDA and the power source and sync lines are separate, making for a clunky package on your desk and when you travel. I was seduced away from Palm b/c of all the extra bells and whistles. It wasn't worth it.

Summary: Great PDA, But Lacks Keyboard Accessory
Review: Both my wife and I bought the Toshiba e310 shortly after its release. At that point, Toshiba and Belkin, and perhaps others, were saying that a keyboard was in the works. At this point, a keyboard still has not been released, and it seems doubtful that one will. Toshiba did a poor job in this area, in my opinion. If I were purchasing a PDA now, I'd probably buy the new Dell PDAs. They're doing it right -- you can order their keyboards along with the PDA. Dell is also going to bring the price of PDAs down, it seems. Other than that, though, we've had an excellent experience with the PDA. We're not the kind of people to waste money on every new PDA that comes along, so we'll probably use these for several years, we hope, although we'd really like to have a portable, folding keyboard.
