Summary: 16MB vs. Memory Stick issues
Review: I am a medical professional, and my wish PDA wish list included ability to carry large chunks of data and its easy accessibility. There, my Clie hit a snag. Some of the programs that would run off the card in my fellows' Palm m500s and Visors would only run off the internal memory in Clie, making my 32MB card useful only as database storage. One would have to use launcher programs like Launcher III to run programs off the card (and have enough internal memory to do it, too) or programs like MsMount - which made accessibility of these programs on the card tedious - and, in a fast-paced medical setting, unacceptable. The price and the 16MB make up for this shortcoming somewhat, but not when the amount of data available exceeds the 16MB. In Visors and Palms, the expansion modules and SD cards cards act like extensions of internal memory - which _cannot_ be said for Clie + its memory stick.

Review: That's the biggest difference in this PDA compared to others out there. One thing I will say is that when you hear the word Sony, you definitely think of high quality. I have loved Sony since the first PlayStation came out. The Clié is no exception. It has a lot of space, the case is a little wasting, because I broke that within a month of purchasing mine. Be sure to buy a sturdy case for your PDA, no matter the model.

Summary: dissapointed
Review: I purchased this as a gift for my daughter. She used it for three months and then it just would not turn on. She called Sony and they had her ship it back to them. She waited another two months and then called them about the status of the repair. They sent the handheld back and it's in the same condition as before. It will not turn on. She called Sony again and several people talked her through the reset but it still won't turn on.
We're very frustrated and don't really want to send it back for repair again if this is going to be the result. We'd like to speak to the person that thinks they repaired it the first time or we'd like a new piece of equipment.
Anyway I'm not getting any satisfaction from Sony so I thought I'd try this.

Summary: Best Entry Level PDA
Review: I spent a long time looking at various different models and asking people before buying a Sony. My efforts were rewarded. It is the best design for your buck. I use it to connect with Outlook (a must if you are going to use a PDA effectively), for some simple games and to keep up on news via Avantgo. The screen is clear and bigger than Palm rivals enabling reading of even long articles without killing your eyes. My wife struggles with her Palm M105 in this respect. It has a solid/well built feel (not shared by Palm and Handspring) and useful Sony-unique functions such as the jog wheel for scroll down and the memory stick slot. For the money you get much more basic memory and the addition of even a small memory stick makes it much more powerfull than competitor models.
The only two slight whines I have are the fact that it isn't supplied with a cradle, you need two cables to sink and charge it and the battery gets eaten quickly if you use the back light.

Summary: Loved it while it still worked
Review: I had a great first few weeks with my Clie. Lot's of memory, good screen, handy controls, good bundled software.But last week it didn't turn on. I've tried all the normal tricks without success. The Sony support site was not very helpful ("Try a soft reset."). And Sony tech support hasn't responded to my messages.... Statistically speaking, yours probably won't break. If it works, you'll love it.

Summary: Love my PDA
Review: My parents bought this for me as a graduation gift. I had done extensive research to decide which PDA would be best for me and my lifestyle. I picked a winner with this one. It is easy to use, I have never had any problems syncing - which I hear is often the problem with PDAs. The software provided was easy to follow and quick to set up. The only complaint that I can think of is that I can't seem to find the screen savers anywhere, either because it's a popular brand and they're always out or because it's an older brand. The cover that comes with the unit pops off easily too, but it's equally easy to pop back on. It's a very slim unit and fits comfortably in my purse.

Summary: a good pda but service stinks
Review: The pda worked fine, in fact, as perfect as it comes for the basic operations. The memory stick is great, especially if you have other Sony equipment that uses it. However, after two months of use it all of a suddent went dead. The usual tricks like resetting, etc. failed to revive it, and Sony technician had me send it for service, express mail and all paid by the warranty. 10 days later, they are still "working on it", and the web page says that they can hold it for 15 working days, i.e. 21 days! Imagine being without your phone book and pocket calendar for 3 weeks! This is totally unacceptable. I wonder if other manufacturers are any better. The only soluiton I can imagine is the "Jaguar" method: buy two. Not very funny, is it?

Summary: Best PDA Yet
Review: I have owned 4 Palm PDA's but have now switched to the Sony Clie PEG-S360. Best move I ever made!!! This is truly the best PDA I have ever owned. The screen is incredibly clear, 16 meg memory, jog dial, size and weight are awesome, upgradeable with the memory stick, I could go on and on. For the [price] range, this one is the best!

Summary: good first choice
Review: This PDA is a good overall value. The issue about not having a backlight is false. If you don't read the short information about it in the manual then you might not ever know about it. To turn it on you have to hold the power button down for a few seconds and then the same to turn it off. It would've have been less confusing if they would've use a dedicated button for the light or at least labeled it some how. If this is your first PDA or if you want a good lower end PDA then this one gives you a lot for the value. Basically all the good points have been mentioned by others so there's no point in repeating them.

Summary: Problem with the power saving setting
Review: This is my first PDA. I decided on this brand and model base on the price and RAM size, as I have no need for color screen. The only problem with it is its auto-power off, which has a max. setting of only 3 min. I had wrote to sony and their reply was that it cannot be set to a longer duration. By the way, can somebody pls tell me had to load the MP3 into the PDA. Also, where can I get the ear phone? RGDS
