Birnbaum's Walt Disney World For Kids, By Kids 2001

Summary: POSSIBLY A GOOD ADJUNCT BOOK....
Review: In general, I think this book might be helpful to give to older kid in preparation to a Trip to Disney. But, and it's a big but, I think most of the material is a re-hash of material available in Birnbaum's regular Disney book. I think that a trip to disney is expensive enough without thinking you NEED , yet, another "official" book. Birnbaum books are the official dinsey books and as such really spout the Disney propaganda. It is somewhat hard to feel that I got a balanced view of disney from these books, so I always buy "the unnoficial guide" as well. This year I decided to buy this book for my son... for some pre-disney excitement and to read on the plane. But I really think that this would be the only reason to buy it. The information is available in other books and this is a book that could really be skipped.

Review: Kids visiting WDW should get this book!! It tells you which rides are too scary, rough, or intense. It also contains "Hidden Mickeys", a restaurant guide, & an autograph section!! No Disney kid should be without this book!!

Summary: Just the thing to involve the kids
Review: Let's keep in mind that this book is for KIDS==as such, it doesn't have much information that an adult can't find in the regular Birnbaum. However, I bought the 2000 edition for my then-7 year old, and she really enjoyed looking through it for our last trip. Now with another trip planned, I bought her the 2001 edition, and she gave the old one to her younger sister! We want to plan these trips as a family and these books keep her well-versed and knowledgable in what she wants to do and what might be fun for the younger siblings. She would probably give it the full 5 stars!
