Summary: Hear Warming & Heart Breaking All At Once...
Review: I absolutely love Nicholas Sparks! He pulls your heart deep into the stories he writes. You'll find yourself laughing one minute and choking back the tears the next.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Deep and intense, yet just a little too sweet.
Review: I like the author Nicholas Sparks, and have read some of his other work, which is usually good. That is what this book is - good. Not great. An interesting and heartwarming story of true love that is just a little too true. It made me, as a reader, know that tragedy just had to strike for there to be a story at all. Sure enough Missy Ryan, perfect wife to Miles Ryan and son Jonah gets killed in a hit and run accident, leaving the reader's heart asunder but knowing love just must be around the corner. And Voila! Here comes Sarah Andrews, Jonah's teacher, who must meet with Miles to discuss some difficulties Jonah is having in school. The two fall in love. The rest of the story is what I gave three stars for, because once Sarah and Miles fall in love, it is only then that you begin to realize that you are not actually reading another Harlequin Romance here. There are some twists and turns and a HUGE bend in the road that will challenge all of the characters with torturous emotions beyond what you would have expected. A fine read and a good job by author Nicholas Sparks.

Summary: Carly's Review for "A Bend in the Road"
Review: Reading this book was an act of complete random luck. I walked into a Wal-mart with the knowledge that my upcoming weekend would be somewhat boring. I certainly picked the right book to spice up my weekend. I picked up this book off the shelf, and began learning the story of Miles and Missy Ryan. It's a slow start but well worth it.
Miles Ryan had the perfect life, married to Missy Ryan the perfect wife. Together they had a beautiful child and nothing could have stood in the way. Missy and Miles live in New Bern, North Carolina, where everyone knows everyone else. But nothing could have prepared Miles for what was about to happen. Missy is suddenly killed in a hit and run accident. Miles' life is turned upside down. The loss of his wife destroys his daily routine, he finds himself lost without her, and most of all he much raise they're son on his own. Miles spends the next two years of his life looking for the killer of his wife. But when his search is interrupted, by a new love interest, the young teacher of his seven year old son, Sarah Andrews a young woman recovering from a difficult divorce, that has the whole town talking, Miles puts his search on hold. But this new love is connected with Miles's past. As they're relationship is tested they're true colors come out. Can they're love survive?
This is a story of true love, betrayal, forgiveness, and testing the boundaries, that will keep you turning the pages all night long.

Summary: A book that keeps you guessing
Review: This book is a heart wrenching story of love and overcoming an obstacle which most people would not be able to do.It makes you think about how much you would be willing to forgive once you know the whole truth about something that you had mispercieved. Because, you could only think of one way that something could have happened.
To read another book the keeps you guessing try The Secret of Escape, a sailing mystery adventure.

Summary: boring
Review: I lisetend to the audio casset & almost couldn't get through the whole thing...not only was the story sappy, but the person reading it made it even sappier. Nothing ruins a book more than the wrong person reading it. Too sweety for me.

Summary: Predictable, but still interesting
Review: Now, i have to admit that in some part and events, what comes next are so obvious, that you'll understand the story even if you skip pages of it. Even though those predictable scenes limited the whole result of the masterpiece, this book can still grab you, whatever happens. All you wanted to do is kept on reading and finding what's going on.
This book tells a story about Miles Ryan who lived as a widower, since his wife died because of an accident. For his past two years, he spent all of his time investigating the accident and the driver. But it never comes to a result. Anyway, Miles learn to keep on striving through everyday of his life, for he know that he have a son, named Jonah (7), and that is, of course his responsibility. Jonah's teacher sarah andrew is another story. She has just been divorced with his husband and is willing to make a new start in new bern. She is also, on the other hand, Jonah's 2nd grade teacher. and as you can predict, sarah and miles gradually fall in love, remebering, that Miles slowly learn to left his horrible past behind.
But then again when they're having the time of their life, problems gets in the way, and it deals with his long almost-forgotten past, his wife, Missy. and as unbelievable as it is, it deals with Sarah. Guess i'll stop there or i'll spoil the whole story.
A bend in the road is basically a very good book, and a very lighthearted book to read, since there's not much thing to analyze. And all you need to do is just to follow the story. Just try this book on your summer holiday, or something like that. It's not those book that twitched your brain and forced you to bring a dictionary anywhere you bring the book. Have fun with it!

Summary: A Bend in the Road
Review: When I started reading this book I was enjoying it. However, after finishing, A Bend in the Road, I have to admit I was a bit disappointed. I expected the author to go into more depth about the relationship between Miles and Sarah. I certainly was not anticipating a cross between a "romance" novel and a "who-done-it" murder mystery. I found myself wishing this character (Missy) had died of a brain tumor if she had to die at all. Or better yet, why couldn't Mr. Sparks have had Miles be a divorced man who just happened to have full custody of his son?

Summary: Enrapturing
Review: I think I'm addicted to the emotion jarring experiences that pervade Sparks' books. Once again, I read the book in one sitting and when I was done, I wanted more. Predictable plot? Maybe, but I enjoy seeing how his characters develop and how they interact with each other. There are a couple of "twists" in the book, one of which caught me by surprise, and it made the book that much more enjoyable. Highly recommended and possibly the best of his books so far (however, I've yet to read The Rescue).

Summary: A pain in my head
Review: ...from attempting to read this "not even worthy to be called a beach book" book! I picked it up to read on a plane and found I preferred the drone of the engines. Boring. Predictable. Shallow. Sappy. All this - and I didn't even get half-way into it! I finally left it behind in a motel and then felt guilt about someone else finding it and possibly attempting to read it.
