Summary: A Bend in the Road
Review: Sparks brilliantly includes suspense, tragedy, and romance in this juicy page-turner! I couldn't put it down! I have also read "The Rescue" but found it somewhat boring. Nothing boring about "A Bend in the Road." Nothing!...

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Best Sellers Review
Review: A Bend in the Road was a great book. I have never read any of Nicholas Sparks books, but after reading this I will find some of his other books and read them. This novel is about true love and how people will overcome anything to be with the ones they love. I can't believe the ending of this book. If you like unexpecting endings you better read this. I would recommend this book to all readers. It is told from Miles (the father of the book) point of view. It also had a little twist because part of the story was told from the killers point of view.
GREAT BOOK!!

Summary: Syrupy sweet not predictable tale of love and forgiveness
Review: I don't usually read this type of book-syrupy sweet, sappy love story. But I find this one quite engrossing. Miles Ryan's life seems to lose purpose the day his wife Missy was killed in a hit-and-run accident. The only thing that keeps his life from falling apart is his 7-year-old son Jonah. Through a teacher-parent meeting Miles meets Jonah's teacher Miss Andrews, or Sarah, and things take a U-turn. They hit it off well and fall in love with each other. Sarah moves to New Bern in hope of starting over from a failed marriage, while Miles grieves for Missy and determines to bring the hit-and-run felon to justice. The story is syrupy sweet, sappy but predictable. For those who savor twist-and-turns don't read this book. Interwoven throughout the book are monologues of the hit-and-run felon which kind of provides suspense to the tale. What neither Miles and Sarah realizes is that they are held together by a shocking secret that will force them re-evaluate their relationship. Good read. 3.8 stars.

Summary: A Bend in the Road
Review: This was an awesome book, why haven't you read it!? It's about a man (Miles) who's wife dies in a hit and run accident, she was definitely his soul-mate and they were obviously meant to be together. He was devastated after her death and pretty much locked himself and his son in their house and his son (Jonah) was the only person he'd spend time with. Even after two years it was hard for him to look at another women.
When Jonah was in second grade he wasn't learning as fast as the other students and his teacher (Sarah Andrews) was worried about him. Sarah called for a conference with Miles, and ever since then things were never the same. Miles and Sarah fell in love and spent every waking hour together. Miles hadn't thought he'd ever be able to be that happy again. And Jonah fell just as much in love with Sarah as his father had.
After about 4 months things changed, once again. Sarah found out a huge secret and she knew as soon as she heard it that things would be rough for her and Miles.

Summary: Bestsellers Review
Review: This book was great. You create a bond with each character and go through each event like it's happening to you. The ending is great and you don't know what to expect. It's a book about true love and how love always come back to you if it's meant to be. The story also had another little twist because the "guilty" person told part of the story. It's was a creative twist on the book. I would recommend this book to everyone else. Girls will like this book because it's a romantic book and guys might also like this book because it is mostly told from a guys point of view. A Bend in the Road is a very well written book and if you like other Nicholas Sparks books you will like this one as well.

Summary: Exactly what I was expecting
Review: I felt like reading a romantic novel, something with a nice love story, less cynical, nevertheless interesting and real, and maybe a happy end. So, I thought, Nicholas Sparks' novels give all these things. Then I decided to try A Bend in the Road. And it didn't let me down. Plus, it is not stupid.

This novel is about losing the one you love and the problems of a starting again. Miles Ryan has never came to terms with the tragic lost of his wife killed in a hit-and-run accident two years ago. He devoted his time to take care of his little son, and to find the person who was driving the car that killed her. His life was nothing but this until the day he meets Sahah Andrews, his son's teacher and they fall for each other. Things are fine until the day something crops up, and put their love in jeopardy.

Most of the novel is about how much we can forgive in order to move on. Sometimes, life plays tricks on us and we are supposed to deal with situations we never expected to. This novel shows exactly it. Both Miles and Sarah are supposed to give up things they belive in order to move on. The point Sparks brings up is: can we sacrifice our beliefs for love? Well, you must read the novel to discover why Sarah and Miles have to make sacrifices and if they can make them.

To sum up, I had a great time reading this book. As I said this was the love story I wanted to read. A Bend in the Road was my second Sparks book, but, surely, not the last.

Summary: Great Mystery
Review: Kept me guessing until the last third of the book...I really enjoyed this one. He makes the character come alive....leaving you sharing their emotions.

Summary: Nice, Sweet, Simple Love Story
Review: This story was nice. It was cute. And, it was truly simple. But when looking for a love story to ready, what else do you need? Sure, at Thanksgiving dinner, it was was obvious who the killer was.....but the story was written to reveal that. And sure, it was a little sappy...but again, it was a love story & if the events hadn't been a little sappy, there would have been no story.

Maybe my having a high pressure job AND being involved in the stress of planning two weddings (my wedding for me & my wedding for the family) makes me appreciate a book that is a quick, gentle read. This book didn't tax my brain after a long day, and it made me feel good.

Summary: Good Sentimental Story
Review: I'm not normally one for love stories but . . . it's hard not to be a fan of Nicholas Sparks.

This story revolves around Miles Ryan who has lost his beloved wife to a hit and run accident. Two years later he begins falling in love with Sarah Andrews, his son Jonah's grade school teacher. Ryan's search for his wife's "killer" presents twists and turns (both literally and figuratively!). Little do they know, but Miles and Sarah will have a very large hurdle and crisis in their relationship that neither expect as a result of Miles' perseverance in finding the hit and run driver that killed his wife.

Spark's tells a good, and sentimental story.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Predictable and Unambitious
Review: Anyone could have written this book. So many cliches, predictable conversations, hollow characters. This is basically a Harlequin romance written by a man. I can't understand how this book graces the Bestsellers Lists.
