Summary: Superb!!
Review: Richard Paul Evans has once again written a story that cannot help but touch all our lives. A "Perfect Day", depicts Evans at his best. In brief, the story is about a truly happily married couple with a young daughter who struggle to make ends meet. By means of some unfortunate events that occur, they hit pay dirt and their lives are transformed and so is their happiness. The story often makes the reader try and understand what life and love really mean.
When you think you know how the story will end, guess again because you will be delightfully surprised by it's twist.
A great book to read and a great book to reflect!!!

Summary: a novel with a good twist at the end!!!
Review: There is something extra special about Richard Paul Evans' novels. This story, while similar in parts to his other book THE CHRISTMAS BOX MIRACLE, is about a man named, Robert - who has always had a dream of writing a book. He loses his job and his dream becomes a reality. Fame and fortune come and changes in his life begin to whirlwind.

A stranger comes to Robert and tells him he has a short time left to live. It is up to Robert how he spends his last days. An unexpected twist occurs toward the end - you'll have to read it to find out!

Summary: Wrong Narrator
Review: Perhaps this story is better than I give it credit. This narrator is whiney, goofy, annoying, does horrible female voices and in places appears not to have pre-read the context of what he's reading. I will start over with a hard copy, but if you're thinking of purchasing the audiobook, don't do it!

Summary: Examine the Individual
Review: Richard Paul Evans is a high caliber fiction writer. "A PERFECT DAY" is another stellar novel. I first enjoyed "THE CHRISTMAS BOX MIRACLE" and also liked "THE LOOKING GLASS." This new book ranks at the top of his work. Evans keeps true to his unique and descriptive style of writing while making some interesting and unique additions in the story department.

One plus is the Hollywood facade backdrop Evans creates which he does with great similarity and equal success to Rikki Lee Travolta's "MY FRACTURED LIFE." The plot devices of a life re-examined are perhaps not original but very originally addressed.

Again, it would be easy to compare to Mitch Albom's "THE FIVE PEOPLE YOU MEET IN HEAVEN" or Travolta's "MY FRACTURED LIFE" but I would personally be hesitant to do so.

Taking nothing away from any other book(s) ("THE CHRISTMAS BOX MIRACLE", "THE LOOKING GLASS", "THE FIVE PEOPLE YOU MEET IN HEAVEN", and "MY FRACTURED LIFE" are all stellar books), I suggest looking at "A PERFECT DAY" for it's individuality for that is what makes it so great.

Summary: Heartwarming Christmas Tale
Review: This is the first book from Evans that I've read and it definitely won't be the last. His characters are lovable and lifelike. It's about a happy family whose lives are turned upside down when the husband loses his job and decides to finally follow his dreams and write a novel. Encouraged by his wife and daughter he finishes his book, a story about his wife's last moments with her father. His book becomes a bestseller and all their lives change. He is no longer home for his wife and daughter (he's touring and promoting his book)and his priorities and morals shift. He finds a friend in an angel who helps him realize what is really important to him. This story of family, love, values and success brought a few tears to my eyes. It also brought a glow to my heart. It is a definite must read ,especially around the holidays. It reminded me how very special my own family is to me and that their love shouldn't be taken for granted.

Summary: EXCELLENT
Review: i've bought this book over my winter break, and hadn't actually begun to read it until a few days ago, and it only took me one day to finish it. the story touches the heart, as did evans' other novels.... it is by far one of the best books that evans has ever written.

Summary: Be Careful What You Wish For!
Review: Richard Paul Evans in his newest book, A Perfect Day, has written a title which will appeal to his old and new readers alike. Some will also recall Evans's rise to fame with the enormous popularity of his first book, The Christmas Box, which was self published for family and friends. The book was also made into a TV movie starring Richard Thomas and Maureen O'Hara. Evans also recently chronicled the history of The Christmas Box recently in his book called The Christmas Box Miracle which for his previous readers showed a glimpse into a writer's struggle and what appears to be overnight fame. Readers of a Perfect Day, therefore, should not be surprised if they consider that this book may not seem either coincidental or a thinly veiled autobiography when remembering back to Evan's Life.

Robert is a young man when he meets and marries the woman of his dreams. early in their married life Robert works at various jobs while his wife Allyson cares for their daughter and home. In his free time Robert pursues his dream by writing what he hopes one day will be a best-selling novel. Success does come finally but at a bitter price when Robert finds himself on endless book tours and sending less and less time at home. Although very lonely, Robert does respond positively to the many new people he meets. The temptation of a beautiful woman and the lure of a movie deal may threaten both his marriage and the very ideals and values he once had. Then Robert meets a man with almost mystical qualities who not only knows all about him but also predicts his imminent death. Who is this man and how will Robert settle his life if in fact he only has a matter of days left to him.

Although I did find the ending somewhat predictable, I also felt that the author provided a good journey. I also found the characters enjoyable and wondered how people who do achieve great success aren't blinded by the lights of fame and fortune.

While I hoped this book would be as inspirational as the titles from The Christmas Box Trilogy, I did think A Perfect Day was a good read. Despite that a similar theme has filled countless other books notably You Can't Go Home Again and Youngblood Hawke, it did teach me once again valuable lessons about the true meaning of love and success. As I usually do after reading Evans's newest book, I look forward to the next one.

Summary: Very Enjoyable
Review: I actually started this book thinking that it wouldn't be that great. I had to read it for a book club. I was pleasantly surprised and have already checked the library for the other books that Evans has written.

Read it and you will also be pleasantly surprised, too!

Summary: A Nice Story About Life's Priorities
Review: At the urging of my spouse, along with promises that this was a quick read, I delved into this book. She was right, it did read fast and it was an excellent story. The main character, who I believe probably represents the author, writes a book about his wife's relationship with her father, culminating with his death. His book finds immediate success and revolves around the blessings and curses found with such popularity. Think: It's a Wonderful Life in book form. It is definitely worth the time.

Summary: Loved the book
Review: That last review sounds like it was written by a frustrated wannabe writer. (a bad one at that) That poor reader doesn't know the difference between foreshadowing and predictability. This book was fabulous and anything but predictable. And, by the way, anyone in Salt Lake City knows that Evans hasn't left his wife. I guess there's one in every bunch but considering that it's the only one-star review of the bunch, guess who's out touch? Read the book, you'll love it.
