Summary: Wow
Review: ACDM > ALL GAMES. This sums it all up. Ive played DiabloII, Warcraft I,II,III, Starcraft, had DAoC and Everquest......yet nothing can compare. The people, places, monsters, quests, items, support, towns, everything. It could not be better. The best part is its 24 hours, so when you log off lets say in Darktide (Player Killer Server) You could log out all by yourself and when you log in have a PK right next to you! Its great, the adrenaline of your first kill, and heartache of the VP (Vitea Points which u get when you die) and the sorrow of getting screwed in your first trade. All of these you'll experience and through the bad and good times you'll always come back to Dereth. It is handsdown the best game for the PC.

So grab your credit card and order it now. You cant buy it at stores anymore because Turbine wants you to play AC2 (WHICH [is bad]!!!!!) dont buy it, buy ACDM, the only bad thing about AC is that youll get addicted and will probablly lose track of the real world, but its cool, because its great. 1000 words cannot describe the fun of this game so ill end it here, just buy it whats [item price] for a lifetime of fun?

-Sinister (Say hey if ur in darktide :D)

Summary: Every time I think I get out, they pull me back in...
Review: I started playing AC from beta and left it for a bit. AC:DM brought me back. Having tried other online games, I have to say that Turbine has really scored with this one. Also, it seems they intend on breathing new life into this game by updating the server hardware which will hopefully allow them to do more exciting things. Right now, the game is in the calm before the storm as the storyline is evolving and a new menace seems to be coming. But if you're not into that, there's always fishing.

Summary: STOP LOOKING
Review: After 1 hour playing Dark Majesty you'll be hooked. With all the Massively Multiplayer Online Games out there, it may be hard to believe, but there is NOTHING, not even everquest, not even Asheron's Call 2, that comes close to Dark Majesty. It's a true all time classic. If you're one of those people who played Civilization for years, still loves SimCity, can't forget Doom, and just generally can't EVER get enough of a good thing, then DM is for you. Don't miss your chance to play the best MMOG ever made!

Summary: Can It Get Any Better Than This
Review: I've been playing AC since shortly after beta on the original, and have been a hardcore fan ever since. This game has it all: fun quests, great people, and a huge variety of stuff to sm00sh! It's hard to get bored with this game. When you're not hanging out at the mansion or lifestone chatting with your friends or patron and other allegiance members, you're out killing the monsters of Dereth, attempting to reach the pinacle level of 126! Definitely worth playing, who knows you might even find a "spouse"! (Yes, you can even get married in AC!) Just don't forget to get a house! Or where else shall you live? ^_~

Summary: Great game -- play with others online
Review: Asheron's Call is a PC based, on-line computer game in the Baldar's Gate/Dungeons & Dragons genre'. Characters move up in level based upon experience -- gaining increased abilities as they kill monsters or turn in certain items. There are also lots of weapons, magic items and armor you can gain or improve through questing and crafting. The complexity of the crafting and combat aspects of the game is interesting and complex enough to keep you engaged over a fairly long time.

The game has not been generally available via retail sale since around the December 2002 release of Asheron's Call 2. However, Asheron's Call remains popular -- still more popular than Asheron's Call 2 -- although not as popular as some of the larger on-line games such as Everquest. Games copies are available through Amazon.com & Ebay, but are not generally at the local computer game store, unless they carry discontinued or second-hand games. As with all multiplayer massive online realtime games (MMORG) Asheron's Call has its share of fan sites where you can follow discussions about different aspects of the game, read quest write ups, complain about what you would like to see changed or just socialize. The recent test by Turbine/MicroSoft of a new game server make many players hopeful that this on-line game will continue on for years to come.

There are seven server/worlds, all of which are identical except for the players that inhabit them. One of the worlds is dedicated strictly for player killers, those players that chose to be able kill or be killed other players. Most players stick to only one server since it takes time to advance your character through various levels.

Weapons and fighting abilities can be lumped into three categories, melee' such as sword, mace, axe; missile weapons such as bow, crossbow and hand thrown weapons; and magic, which is broken into 4 schools of magic, each of which is trained independently.

The ways in which you chose to create your character and the way in which you train different skills and apply the experience that you gain makes customization of your character a big part of the game. Recent changes to the game make the skills and attributes for your character much more changable and flexible.

Changes to the game are introduced each month. The monthly changes are eagerly awaited by most players. Many players run around the world after a new "patch", hoping to be one of the first to find a new monster or new quest.

Most players organize into monarchies that help each other with game information, and to help each other gain more powerful weapons, magic spells and armor. Many monarchies are also places to socialize as well.

I've enjoyed playing this game for over a year. Many have played the game for 3-4 years since it was first available for beta testing. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

Summary: Different from other MMORPG's
Review: I've had the opportunity to play a good percentage of what is on the market today in this genre... EQ, DAoC, AO, E&B, even beta tested quite a few more of them. ACDM is the ONLY game I come back to when the others fail to deliver. I'm sure most of you have heard of AC at one point or another. Its been around for a while, yes. It's older, more established, yes. The graphics aren't so hot... well, not by AO's standards but they aren't as bad as you might think... and they may just suprise us one day with a graphics update(Though they are STILL better than EQ).
Most of you looking through the MMORPGs are familiar with the genre... its ups AND downs. What ACDM offers that NO OTHER game consistently offers breaks down to this; You build your skills as you go... YOU define how good your character becomes... NOT the game!

Sure, other games allow you to raise some skills, get some loot, wear armor that either degrades or needs to be rebought as you level, etc...

ACDM goes one step further... you can adjust the proficiency of anything from run speed, to lockpick skill. Not limited by your level, or your characters lineage... only limited by how much experience you put into it. You can also readjust your skills. Untraining one, specializing another, you can even change your inherent skills (i.e. strength, coordination, focus) AFTER playing and finding what works for your character. While there are a select few weapons and armor that have wield or wear level requirements, most are only skill requirements to activate bonus spells, NOT to use it entirely as other games typically do. Loot generated armor and weapons are almost always capable of being modified by the player (permanently... not a degrading bonus) to some degree... by either tinkering to enhance damage, up your armor level, reduce burden, or even adding permanent enchantments to items.

Between game stability, player community, player housing, allegiances, quests, soloability, fellowship hunting (share experience with your hunt mates), item variety, critter chess, PvP AND non PvP, character customization... ACDM gets an A from me. You are only limited by how much YOU put into your character.

Only one reason for not giving it an A+...
No new expansion pack lately... I hope for one soon... most of us in Dereth do, it just adds to the flavor, and hopefully the graphics a smidge.

If ya get in, make sure and say howdy :)

Summary: This game doesn¿t disappoint!
Review: For over a year now we have taken the portal to Dereth, a virtual world and MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role playing game) like no other. We have experienced stunning vistas, miles of contiguous landscape that you can walk through and explore on your own, at your peril, or amongst a group of friends. These you no doubt will make along the way. There is safety in numbers you know. The trips have become more frequent now as the pursuit for knowledge and the thirst for experience in this vast world increases.

You can choose your race and personalize your player and become one of many different disciplines. You can be a Swashbuckler, Wayfarer, Archer, and Magician among others. The experience you earn as you slay beasts and complete quests will contribute to your characters growth and stature in Dereth. Perhaps you will found a great Monarchy or a feared Clan or contribute to a fellowship as you search for the ultimate beasts to slay.

The story changes monthly and the world is renewed again. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks. Changing events, new challenges, and quests with surprises along the way.

You don't need an overly fancy computer to run this game as you do with the newer games and being an older game you can be sure that the bugginess is low. This along with the friendly people you meet along the way adds to its playability. Combine this with a low monthly game fee and awesome support and you can keep your eye on the fun instead of technical issues.

This game doesn't disappoint. However, there is a danger that an addiction may form and that you will begin to slowly loose touch with the real world ...

Summary: Asheron's Call, immmersive incredibly fantastic adventure!
Review: I have played adventure games for 23 years, and have never enjoyed one as much as Asherons Call (AC). It submerges you into a beautiful world of color, adventure, lore and excitement!

The game is so deep because you have hundreds of places to go. literally hundreds of dungeons, monsters, castles, mountains to explore and conquer (alone or with friends!) The fact you can own a house and storage, and belong to a guild with a mansion makes even better, because you can equip and prepare for any type battle. Wear different armor. Cast spells and 'blow things up' for fun and exciting treasure. A+

Summary: King of MMORPG's
Review: Don't buy AC2! If you want an excellent AC experience, stick with the original. Monthly updates keep the story changing, not static and same old same old, though the popular quests remain in the game. Excellent game, entertainment never ends!
