Summary: This got me into online gaming and I love it!
Review: Well what can I say about a game which takes up 20 + hours of each week... I love it! This game has it all, from first person shooter to flying planes to shooting it up in tanks... The best fun you can have with your pants on... honest!

I am talking about the online side of things only though, you will get bored senseless with the single player game, but once you get online and battle friend and foe... you wont look back!

Warning this game is not good for lasting relationships as you will want to be online day and night, trying to get that gold medal...

I have played counterstrike etc and this is so much more better!

Summary: smells cheap
Review: This game is extremely lame, I can't figure out all the rave reviews unless these people are just graduating from playing on an old atari or something. For starters you can't even bump up the amount of enemy you face past halfway point or your comp. starts dropping frames continually (and no I'm NOT using a 486 it is a 1.4 with 768 ram and a nvidia 128 video card, should be able to run this simpleminded game without breaking a sweat), and whats up with that ridiculuos thing they have called spawn time???? Sometimes it can take up to 30 seconds to even re-enter action not to mention the game already takes forever to boot up. EA bigboys must have been leaning on the software engineers pretty hard to get this garbage out fast(next time can you guys do it faster and even cheaper?)AND THIS GAME SELLS FOR 50 BUCKS! There is lot more garbage on this game they ought to stick to sports games that they do well as for this game DON'T BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!So their software geeks can go back to their coffee break!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Summary: EA Games could have done better
Review: Battlefield 1942 could have been much better. It was written as if some amateur team at EA had done the work. Guns are not very realistic nor are the troops. EA's games in the MOH series are so much better and I would stay with that series. Either way, better have a computer with some power and be ready to tweak it maybe. I had to set (I use XP) paging (Virtual Memory) to allow auto setting as needed. This prevented crashes. By the way. I'm an Army vet and age 65!

Summary: Wickedly hazardous to your schedule
Review: Do not buy this game if you are working on the cure for cancer, world peace, or a longer lasting light bulb. We need you to continue doing just what you are, right now. For anyone else that wants to have a blast playing the variety of roles and piloting/driving the many vehicles in BF 1942, then waste no time. This game deserves all of the "Game of the Year" awards it has received, and once you become adept at the keyboard and mouse controls (this takes a little time) you will find yourself immersed and enthralled in a fun, fast paced online multiplayer game.

Summary: Swallows you up
Review: I have had BF: 1942 for 3 months now. Many games out there now are great but they get old and boring after the newness wears off. I can only say, that isn't the case here. Now that map editors are out, there is limitless variety to how the game can look and feel. I play online for a while and when I finally get frustrated from being on the losing team way too many times, I switch to single player on easy and make myself feel competent. I am using different mods as well and this is where is value is. You can completely change the game to modern war (Desert Combat Mod) or Jungle Combat (Day of Destruction). Best part is: the mods are free! All in all, its a hoot and a good value for your gaming dolar.
Pros: Lots of vehicles
Multiplayer Teamwork
Available mods
Different ways to win (infantry, tanks, artillery- your strategy)
Cons: Multiplayer interface could use some streamlining
Waiting for a long time to spawn

Summary: Worst Game Ever- VERY Unrealistic
Review: Imagine if you will, a sherman tank, and a tiger. Now in realistic conditions the sherman wouldn't be able to jack to the tiger, it would take more shots from a sherman, compared to the tigers 1. But no, in battlefield 1942, it takes two shots from a sherman to destroy the tiger, and two shots from the tiger to destroy the sherman. Now explain this, how can a sniper rifle, be so accurate at 1000+ yrds? Without an arc at all? Pin point accuracy. Best of all, that accuracy requires a single shot to the head for instant kill, a shot the the chest will not mark an instant kill, takes two to kill a person. Planes, oh my god. It takes over 5 clips with a colt 45 to kill a plane, doesn't matter what, everything is the same plane, tank, ship just reskinned.. Carriers are a joke. It takes 6 torpedoes to take down an enterprise class carrier. It takes over 8 bombs to sink it.. This game for those of you who are WW2 Enthusiests, WILL NOT ENJOY THIS GAME FOR IT'S REALISM. You will probbaly die laughing from the lack of realism in combat, a thompson is so accurate from distance you can use it as a sniper rifle, granted it does hardly any damage. It will still work if you nail them in the head. Just once.. this game is so horrible, I felt that I should sue EA for making such a bad game. That's just my two cents..

Summary: Flying High....
Review: ...The rocket pack is one of the most sought after new items in the arsenal of "Secret Weapons". The problem really is that, at least in the demo, people will kill you for the rocket pack. And I don't mean the ENEMY, I mean your teammates! Since the demo has come out with one map I have played it extensively, merely waiting for the full version to be shipped out. In addition to the rocket pack are two new amphibious vehicles, a German Jeep w/ a side gunner for the passenger (finally!) and a tank like armored vehicle with 2+ guns. Both are great for crossing waterways, etc. Even by ones self you can quickly switch over to the gunner and pop the enemy, getting back into the drivers seat to zoom away for the next unsuspecting enemy.

The various new weapons include the throwing knives which only seem to go about 6 ft, a semi-automatic shot gun (allies), and a couple of heavier machine guns. Most noticeable in this category is the addition of the semi-automatic sniper rifle that actually keeps your eye in the scope and allows you to be MUCH more effective picking off the enemy even if they seem like ants in the distance. But you won't be killing any krauts with this weapon as it is an Axis only goodie!

There are several new planes, only two in the demo. They are pretty fun too, rocket propelled and fast. Need I say more?

There will be many more new things and maps in the full release, my advice is to get it if you like FPS's or already play any of the BattleField series. You won't go wrong, believe me.

Summary: Best game I've ever played
Review: This game took me away when I started playing it. The only bad thing is (this didn't happen to me but it can) that the graphics for this game is so good and the memory is so big that it might just not be worth getting. I would only get this game if I knew I had a top-of-the-line computer. The Road to Rome expansion pack is also worth getting. I also think The Secret Weapons pack looks like it's worth getting but I haven't bought it yet.
