Summary: Good game but not great.
Review: I liked this game. It has good graphics, a storyline that is easy to follow unlike some RPG's, and the controls are not hard to master, but there were a few things I really hated.

I played a human druid with a neutral/good alignment but found that I had a lot of trouble gaining points. Once you kill even a lesser monster no more would appear unlike in Baldur's Gate where you could earn extra points just by leaving and then coming back to that area where more monsters would be waiting. I killed every monster I could find and still came up short at the end of the game, unable to complete the last of the character quests because they wouldn't complete their stories until I gained a higher level!

I also found having only one companion at a time rather frustrating, and you can't even change their weapons or give them heavier items to hold! And what is up with those small brown loot bags that blend in so well with the floor that you have trouble finding them? I also had the huge problem of finding enough gold for those outrageously priced special items.

I do recommend this game overall, it really is very engaging, but buyers should be aware of some of it's limitations.

Summary: Only a game, not an engine.
Review: The problems with Neverwinter Nights
1. You are not suppose to make money by selling modules, images, or stories. Why would you spend hours to prototype and not sell?
2. They haven't give up the source code.
3. They shake good players by changing functionality with each revision.
4. They force you to upgrade, spending hours switching between versions of patches because they won't let you download each patch, so you can switch between versions on the fly.
5. They control the message boards, and will close them out when the product has been milked, stealing hundreds of hours of great ideas.
6. No true backwards compatibility: Old addon's don't always work.
7. You have to buy from them to add on creatures?
8. Most of all, your system will not handle everything you want it to do. It is a memory hog that will outgrow your system.
9. A French company bought out the American Atari manufacutring plants.

Good parts:
1. It is the best on the market as far as designer power. 2nd best with less triangles and functionality is Microsoft's Dungeon Seige.
2. Atleast it is not a dorky Tribes game where you only have 2 entities based on the same model over, and over, and over again. :)
3. Tremendous amount of free material.
4. It makes you proud you own a PC. Three stars for the attempt, but you'll have to wait for NWN 2. And, even then, will they really give you everything you want? :) Why would you buy the add on's? Three stars.

Summary: Great transfer from the original
Review: When this first came out I was a little apprehensive about buying it due to some bad reviews, but after buying it anyway, I was pleasently surprised. It's a great adaptation of the original game.

Summary: Why not?
Review: This is a great game. It takes fantasy, role playing and strategy and mixes it all up in one. This game is overall lots of fun and is very easy to learn how to play.

Summary: Fantastic Game
Review: Neverwinter is a fantastic D&D based game. The contincue to release expantions making it more and more like d&D. All of your favorite classes and weapons are all right here. What i say is to buy it for the online value. Single player indeed gets old after a while, but online the game is amazing. Its replay value is infiniate. There are Tons of servers out there. I think the best is Anphillia, Buy the game and check it out!

Summary: Great engine, mediocre plot, but don't give up hope!
Review: I was thrilled when I installed NWN and saw the massive improvements to the graphics and engine over the Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale series. I was equally impressed with the mature interface and 3rd edition AD&D customization capability for each character. Then I started playing the default module and after a week, gave up on the writer as terribly predictable... Then I went to Bioware's website and started downloading user created modules, and realized how great Neverwinter Nights really is!
There are modules to fancy ANY taste in roleplaying, and some of them are quite masterfully written. It's also exciting waiting for the next module installment in some of the series that have cropped up. Each programmer is essentially writing a fantasy novel, and there are some great results. I definately rank this game among the best I've played, but I docked a star for the weak and uninvolving plot with the default module.

I would say that if you're on the fence about the game, buy it.

Summary: Well worth the money
Review: This game stays very true to the Dungeons and Dragons spirit. From an interesting single player to a limitless multiplayer, this game will keep you interested for a long time. Although the ending was not what I hoped it would be, I would still buy this game.

The Aurora Tool Set allows you to create your own worlds with custom quests. The scripting languages allows for almost limitless ideas to be implimented.

A DM mode is also included so you can DM a game for you and some friends over the internet or on a network.

Summary: a distraction
Review: This game is fun, but really it is just a distraction for me that doesn't leave me feeling any accomplishment when I finish.

Summary: A very enjoyable PC RPG
Review: I have played several RPGs and have to say this is definitely one of the best, if not the best, so far. It has depth and expanse of a well written story. The graphics are good (Dungeon Siege wins the nod on this one) but sound and storyline are probably the BEST so far I've seen. I dont like the fact that you have only a single henchman at a time (you can add an summoned or familiar) and you cant equip or directly control your henchman per se like Dungeon Siege.

Very impressed and looking forward to both expansion packs.
