Summary: Made a mediocre game good!
Review: I did not like the original Generals very much. The missions were pretty basic and the infantry designs were pretty bad. Though they are still bad, they improved the game greatly in other areas. In the original, the tactics were very simple, build lots of powerful tanks and annhilate the enemy. In the expansion, they added new units, and now the tactics, for the most part, are more complex. You have units to disable buildings, and one of my favorites, one that can disable vehicles while creating an effective barrier against missile attacks. The expansion preserves its strengths which are great graphics and great music and sound in general. It adds some other strengths to the original (which should've been there in the first place) such as different generals which offer very different tactics and a more tactical gaming experience. If you are looking for a deep game with complex strategies and gameplay, go get Warcraft 3 or get good ol' Starcraft. I f you have a short attention span and want something that is realistic and, at the same time, sci fi, get this. Generals is now a good game and hopefully the C&C name will become a good name once again in future projects. I can hope can't I?

Summary: The game is great when it works.
Review: I have a P4 2.6GHZ W/HT and 1GB of Dual Channel high end Corsair RAM and a Radeon 9600 Pro, and the SATA Raptor 74 GIG HDD.
Even with this system, the game cripples my computer and it is one of the extremely few times that I experience the "blue screen of death" that I haven't had to deal with since Windows 98. There are even times when Ctr.Alt.Del doesn't work and all I'm left with is the reset button on my computer.
If you think that EA games is going to give you support your wrong.
On the few occasions that it works, it is an outstanding game. I am aware of systems that don't have trouble with this game that are not as high end as my machine, but beware of the hardware combos, there is no telling which ones will work and which ones won't.

Summary: A "Generally" Great Supplement
Review: I Just got done playing this with 3 other people at a LAN party, and I can safely say that this expansion is worth the money if you enjoy the C&C multiplayer experience. The new campaigns are ok, but Zero Hour definetely seems to have a much stronger focus on the multiplay aspect, which really is well done. It also has a nifty solo-player matchup mode called "challenge," where you're pitted against a specific general who's army has certain unique abilities.

The ability to pick different generals is awesome; each general gets certain privledges along with special units. There are 3 generals for each army that you can choose, and each requires a completely different strategy for success. While each general has access to certain unique weapons, they also in most cases have restrictions on some vehicles, including the arsenal they can choose from and how much each vehicle costs. The general-specific weapons are very cool as well; they include a souped up Aurora bomber that drops fuel bombs (my Fave), EMP patriot missles, the Emperor Overlord tank (has a scary amount of firepower), a "nuclear" mig upgrade, the classic C&C lazer turret, a carpet bombing general ability, and a nasty little chinese mini gunner (very effective in large numbers). There also are several units that have been added to each army regardless of which general you choose. I've found that using different generals can drastically change gameplay and adds quite a bit of replayability to the game.

I highly recommend picking this up if you're a C&C nut (like I am). It's not too pricy and has pretty good replayability. If you play C&C multiplayer online or through LAN's, then this X-pack is definetely right up your alley.

Summary: Best Game Ever !!!!!!!!!!
Review: I was surprised when i first played this game how much EA put into it. There are lots of new units, (Raptors that shoot down incoming rockets, tactical nuke migs, mini-gunners)and the graphics are even better than before. You can chose from nine different generals, each having their own special units and abilities. For example, the airforce general can get stealth comanches, and the tank general can get new and improved overlords. Ive tried many other strategy games, including Starcraft and Ages of Empire, but Zero Hour is WAY better than both of them. The only thing Zero Hour is missing is a naval fleet, but you can make aircraft carriers that you can capture on custom maps. My advice..........GET THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!

Summary: One of the better expansion games to ever come out, but...
Review: I wish that this game had some type of controlled water platformed units. Wouldn't it be cool if you could launch an invasion with amphibious units or blast land units with battleship guns like the intro in this game does? You only get a taste of this with the calling in of air power from the ocean on one of the missions. I think that if there is another release of this game, that this aspect of combat should be included. That is the only reason, to me, that this game gets 4 out of 5 stars.

Summary: Cool Just Like NeedForSpeedUnderGround!!
Review: I've always been interested in Generals since my cousin just got the first and second game. The new C&C Generals Zero:Hour is so tight, the new units are cool like the Battle Bus, Combat Cycle, and others! The Generals challage is very cool with all the different tactics, units, and Generals promotion!!! Even though some Generals have tanks, they weaknesses, so think wisely!
Out of all this, it's a great game! So if you have a very fast computer buy the first and second Generals game! If your parents won't let you buy it Just Get It!!! Generals/Generals Zero:Hour Rocks! If you want to know the units, struture, upgrades, and Generals promotion don't ask me even though I told you 2 units, You better get the game then you'll know the units and stuff!
