Summary: DO NOT BUY IF YOU OWN Windows 2000 or XP
Review: I give this product 5 stars when it works. However, I give it 1 star for the problem I will describe below. (Hence 3 star average.)

I installed the software and it worked great for 3 months. Then one day it told me that no compatible recorders were installed on my system. After 5 days of reloading software and hardware I still could not use it.

I found this fix [...] on the Roxio web site but I don't feel I should have to do all this every time the software has a hiccup.

Now I have to buy Easy CD Creator 6 because it, apparently, does not have these issues. I still feel cheated though.

Review: Oh my god, let me just say I wish I would have read all these reviews on Amazon before I got worked up enough to throw my entire computer out the window. Luckily I stopped short of that...But let's just say I wasted 7-8 hours installing this fetid piece of worthless junk before I realized it was completely hopeless...there are more bugs in this thing than a Louisiana bayou. It just refused to install! It said I had an older version of the software on my computer that must be removed first. Even though I knew I didn't, I removed everything I could until my system was practically bare-bones. Then I defragmented for two hours, looked through a thousand files, and finally wondered if I was going crazy - but there was NOTHING THERE. Then it partially installed, ran half-ass for about 8 seconds and then immediately crashed my computer. It took 4 hours to get my hard drive working again. I am not a computer expert by any means, nor am I a novice, but I felt reduced to a sniveling infant because I was so upset that I could not get the software to work in time for my husband's birthday the next day -What a major disappointment. I feel very slighted - even though I did not pay the big bucks for the software because it came bundled with my new CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive (which works like a dream) - I feel like I have been taken advantage of and totally ripped off by CenDyne for including faulty software. And Roxio's "customer support" is the biggest joke since our nation's new terrorism warning system. RED ALERT ON THIS SOFTWARE!! STAY AWAY!!

Summary: DANGER WILL ROBINSON! DANGER!
Review: This was a great program that lived happily on my Windows 98 machine. When that sad day came to put the old boy out to pasture and move into an XP machine, life turned into a living hell. Once it went into my machine it directed me to download a new driver to bring it up to speed and that's when the fun began. In short order I started getting scary pop-up notices about unstable drivers and such. Shortly after, it went down, not to be resurrected even with heroic efforts. I had to bring in a professional level computer whacker who spent an entire day unraveling the mess. And found out that a lot of computer manufacturers don't include XP in their packages...so I had to re-buy an operating system just to get it running again.

Given the choice of putting this back on my machine or eating my foot, I'd go for the foot.

Summary: PLEASE don't load this software ---- YOU'LL BE SORRY !!!
Review: I really regret loading this product. I have a Gateway computer with Windows XP, Home Edition. When I installed this, the software somehow disabled my built-in CD burner and a separate DVD player. I tried uninstalling it , but ha ha ha. Removing "Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum" involves inserting the product CD back into the CD drive, but the CD drive can't read the disk as it no longer works, so I'm completely stuck. The patches available from their web site didn't help matters at all. I cannot believe Roxio can get away with their lousy technical support. I will NEVER purchase another Roxio product again.

Summary: Beware
Review: I have win xp...After installation, when using CD Creator 5 Platinum for the first time, it corrupted three CD's with data.
Tried calling support for two days, was unsuccessful. Terrible program with terrible support. Never had a problem with Nero.
Definitely do not recommend. It was a waste of money. They wouldn't even honor my request for a refund.

Summary: Almost bought CD Creator 5
Review: ...I have WindowsXP. From what I read in these reviews, there is a real risk of corrupting my system with this software! My old computer had NERO 5.5 It came with my TDK burner. Too bad this version won't work with Samsung burners. I already emailed them to ask. It was packaged only with TDK drivers on the disk. Tomorrow, I'm buying a full, new copy of NERO!

Summary: Don't buy this piece of junk.
Review: I have two Dells. One at work and one at home. Both came with Easy CD Creator 5.x Granted...it's the one they throw in for nothing to get you to buy the full version.

This piece of junk has driven me crazy for weeks. It's fine with data CD's but don't even try it for music. All I get is maybe 1 or two tracks out of ten.

I've spoken with Dell and they pretty much told me that it's a Roxio problem.

Ever try to get hold of Roxio? Go ahead. I dare you. They want you to pay for telephone support and their web site is a complete disaster. I went into their discussion group and had to log in about 20 times. After getting thrown out 20 times (I actually was able to get in so I know that I was using the correct password etc) I finally gave up and decided to find out what other people had to say about this product.

So, folks, here I am. Now that I've read all the trashy reviews others have written I don't feel quite so dumb.

Don't buy this piece of junk. It doesn't work. They won't support it unless you pay them. Dell won't even say anything good about them.

Go find another piece of software and save yourself the grief.

If I could give this thing no stars that't what it would get.

Summary: Easy CD Creator tops !!
Review: I've used a previous version of Easy CD Creator with excellent results.
I then became stupid and changed to NERO with a Samsung writer.
To say the least: total disaster !!
I bought a Memorex writer with Roxio5 software today to get rid of my frustration: what a pleasure.
Anyone wants a Samsung with Nero software for FREE ? Just a joke, I don't hate anybody in the world THAT much.

Summary: bad bad and again BAAAAAAD.
Review: it may seem like it is good burning software, but in reality all the times i've used it it was working terrible. the first time i just shopped around and tryed to find a good way to make a good picture CD, but it was too confusing, the second time i tryed to make a music CD but an error message popped up saying that i needed a CD-R, and i only had a CD-RW. the third time i tryed to erase a CD, but i tryed to find how to do it and found it in the most unlikely place. so remember, no matter how fancy it may sound it just isn't worth your money.
