Summary: It's good, no matter what anyone says
Review: Broken Arrow doesn't have the best actors and acting but the action makes up for it. Hey what r movies for, all movies don't have to be dramatical all the time. I know this one doesn't have to be b/c Travolta and Slater pulled it out for me and my family. when we saw this my whole family loved it and i can't believe all the negative reviews i'm seeing. I just must be an action junkie or something, but anyway if u like Travolta and action then u should see this one.

Review: What more can you ask for... John Travolta, John Woo and a big budget! Sounds like a match made in Hollywood Heaven.

Woo's excellent action shots, interesting editing and surreal imagery notwithstanding, this was one loser of a film when it came to the story.

The whole premise is absolutely moronic to begin with... but even putting the perposterousness of the story aside, the behavior of the actors is over-acted, cheesy and just plain stupid.

Great action, but not enough to make this film stand on the merits of being an action flick. Those seeking a testosterone rush will feel like they got a lot of tease, but very little substance in the end and those looking for action with a touch of intelligensia will be wanting for another film.

There are some folks who will listen to pulsing, loud rap music simply because of the way it makes their woofers throb in their car, not really caring for the song or the lyrics... such is the appeal of this film.. scattered smatterings of eye-candy explosions hither and yon, and not much else.

Summary: Not the best, not the worst
Review: Let's face it, for the most part, this movie is highly unbelievable. I don't know too many park rangers with the gall to arrest a captain of the Air Force. If we see red flames spewing from an atomic detenation, mostly likely there's some radiation involved. You would think that someone in Deakin's position would have been through so many psyche screenings someone would have known he's not intirely stable. But if you can get past all that, Broken Arrow can be rather entertaining. Travolta plays the sociopathic Deakin's very cooly. His acting in this is nothing less than fantastic. Though I must say that some of the other acting was rather dry to say the least. Mr. Prichett in particular was just plain irratating. On the positive side, there is a catching story line (upright captain has to fight his best friend in order to keep him from setting off a nuclear bomb). The action is good. As I said, Travolta's acting is great; practically carries the film. The final word, I really enjoyed it, but can easilly see why most others wouldn't. I'd suggest renting it. You never know, you may like it and choose to by it.

Summary: Travolta carries this movie
Review: I wanted to give this movie a lower rating, but enjoyed a bit too much to give is 2 stars. The plot itself is interesting, and the special effects are OK.

John Travolta carries this movie as the villian. Watching his character, you can see when he breaks off into insanity. However, unlike other actors, Travolta plays the insanity coolly, not over the top. The other actors merely fill their roles, and none of them really stand out (except for Howie Long, simply because I didn't expect to see him with a real part in a movie).

The DVD is disappointing, as their aren't any real extras. The video quality is good, but could have been better. I did enjoy the DD5.1 effects.

Bottom Line: Watch the movie for Travolta, but don't expect a great film.

Summary: Steaming pile of movie.
Review: This is probably one of the worst movies I've seen. I usualy ask people if they've seen this to judge their movie taste on. Too much cheesy action and too little plot. 70% of this movie is slow motion.

Summary: Shoot 'em up
Review: Plenty of action, shooting, explosions. Travolta seemed to enjoy his role as the bad guy. Otherwise the acting was mediocre.

Summary: Wild Ride
Review: Credible Story, a little mind-stretch regarding the underground nuclear blast, but who cares ... it's all in a day's work (or fun) for John Woo!

Summary: Not broken...yet...
Review: Broken Arrow, in 1996 it electified the big screen as John Travolta and Christian Slater Duke it out in an orgy of explosions and action...now its out on dvd. Well, ok, that is a very good thing, but let me tell you about it really. It is a very good movie, with some excellent directing by John Woo, not to mention good acting by Travolta and Slater. Also, there are some great one-liners, also the story is not lack-luster, and is in fact anything but, it is well thought out and surpasses by a longshot those other action gore-fests that are just that, gory action -- no brains. Over all this movie is very well done. I give it five stars.

Summary: Broken Arrow
Review: Travolta electrified the screen. The sound effects were incredible, especially in scenes such as the stealth bombers. Magnificent directing by John Woo. A must have for anyone who enjoys pure action.
