Summary: Check it out Y'all!!!
Review: This movie is hilarious in so many shapes and forms! You can't help but love Adam, even though you know that you should hate him and want horrible consequences for his actions! And then you're forced to think about what sister you're most like and how you'd react if Adam seduced you. You like to think that you'd be a nice, moral woman who knew not to get involved with such a conniving, creepy, sinister man, but you know that deep down, you'd jump in the sack with him immediately! Eeek, heartwrenching self-discovery! *grin*

Summary: What a Waste
Review: This movie is superficial and populated with glamorous and unprincipled characters.

Kate Hudson, while photogenic in the extreme, is not believable with her fake and shaky Irish accent.

The plot is unbelievable, and the characters are offensive.

The structure of the film is clumsy, and the idea that any sort of trusting relationship and marriage is possible with these people who can not keep it in their shorts (including Hudson) is
naive and unworldly, rather than the reverse. The false sense of lighthearted sophistication is tedious.

Don't bother.

Summary: Light Entertainment, Accent on Light
Review: This story of a young stud who generously spreads his sexual and other talents around a family of sisters is kind of cute and kind of funny for the first half of the film but I found it began to get repetitive and snore producing after that. Stuart Townsend is an interesting young Irish hunk and Kate Hudson was bubbly but that is not really enough to sustain you for the whole of the movie.

Summary: About Adam
Review: This was an excellent film: "About Adam" did what [other] movies ...tried to do but failed. It made creative and effective use of camera angle variation by showing the same scene from different angles and used this to develop the "Pulp Fiction" narrative technique (of dividing the plot into several different, interconnected stories) by interweaving each of its different stories with repeated scenes, common to each.

This movie was slick, smooth and sexy as well as being sharply paced and extremely cohesive (but still full of surprises). I have rarely seen omniscience used as effectively on screen before(though we never know what's going on in Adam's mind 'till the end of the movie).

I haven't seen too many Irish films I've liked. This movie was a marked exception (partly stemming from the fact that it presents the first glimpse I've ever seen of the "new Dublin" [I assume this movie was set and filmed in Dublin] with its modern, increasingly sophisticated, lifestyle and upbeat character: forming a sharp contrast to the dreary, depressing, overly industrial Dublin portrayed in the Irish films of the 1980's and 90's).

....

I highly recommend this film. It is not at all the shallow playboy comedy that I feared: au contraire!

Summary: Sexy and Hilarious!
Review: When I initially looked at the description of this film I thought it would be a sweet, average, romantic comedy--maybe the description was misleading me into renting it--but once I popped the tape into the VCR I fell in love with "About Adam." Some think Hudson's role in "Almost Famous" was her best, thus far, but "About Adam" is even better! It's the most fun I've had on a Friday night in a long time. I laughed and absolutely fell in love with each and every character. Stuart Townsend is my new favorite actor and I can't wait to see him in more films. If you want a wonderfully sexy movie with more laughs than you can handle buy "About Adam"!!!!!!!
