Summary: good discs, cheap price
Review: These MiniDiscs are of good quality. I've never had any problems with tracks skipping or bad discs.

The colors are "cool". If you want to, you could organize by the colors (Blue, Red, Yellow, Orange, Green)

You get 4 "sets". Each set has a clear case (which can hold 6 discs), 5 discs (one of each color), and 5 lable sheets.

However each disc does not come with the plastic jacketts. If you want them, get a pack of Memorex Clear Slim Jewel Cases (25-Pack) Item#: 32021926. The Slim cases are useful if you are carrying around only a few discs at a time, but if you carry around a bunch, then the included cases are fine.

If you have a miniDisc recorder, these are a must have at this price.

Summary: All MiniDisc's Are Created Equal
Review: One customer has experienced trouble with these MDs, but I can't imagine it's the media. I've used 80 of these discs already and haven't experienced ONE bad or problematic disk. The price point is great. I don't know how long the other manufacturers are going to get away with charging more before people wake up and realize that, unlike blank video and audio tape formulations, which do vary considerably, digital recording should essentially be the same quality. (Are the Memorex discs constructed to last a shorter time? Is the binder worse? Only time will tell.) I haven't found a better price and have found these discs perfectly reliable. And I actually prefer the storage cases coming with five but holding six MDs to individual packs. Who wants to do all that labeling?

Summary: Cool
Review: After buying my MiniDisc player, I bought these little discs because they were cute and on clearance. They have yet to let me down. I can make CDs and listen to them in my MiniDisc player, my computers and my DVD player.

Summary: Problematic
Review: I have used MD for 2 or 3 years, and have used a variety of disks. And as a digital media, naturally buying the cheapest MD has its appeal, because as long as the media works at all, it's going to sound the same.

However it might not be worth getting this brand. I keep pretty good care of the MD's, but of the 40 I bought when I first got into Minidiscs, 4 or 5 have had problems where the metal slide either comes off in my pocket, or sticks open. I've been able to get them back on right, but I've made concert recordings that I'd *hate* to lose, I'd prefer the problem didn't come up at all. I haven't had a problem with one coming off in the player, and I don't think that'll happen, but you hate to take chances with an expensive player...

So it might be worth getting these MD's if they're at the right price, and if you can stand to lose what you've recorded to the MD. Still, I've taken to buying Sony multi-packs, and using the remaining blank Memorex MD's only sparingly.

Summary: Very good value!
Review: These Minidiscs are and exceptional value! You get 20 discs in all kinds of different colors, which really helped me organize my collection better, it makes it really easy to know what MD to grab just by the color! My only beef is that the discs do not have the little directional arrow on them so some people may have to fiddle with the disc different directions to get it in the slot. These discs do not come with individual cases, but does anyone REALLY need those? You get four individual hard boxes that hold 6MDs each. The price here on Amazon.com is about HALF of what I can find locally in the stores and by far the best I've found on the internet! (and believe me, I shopped around for a while) The discs arrived within 3 days of the order. VERY pleased.

Summary: It's a high quality and affordable deal!
Review: When I was placing my first order for 40 discs, I was worring about the quality, because I've seen some concerns over here, among reviews. But after, I tested the first delivery, I was so excited about it, and decided to order another set of 40 discs.

I use them every day for recording lectures at my college using LP4 mode in my Sony MZ-R700. A also use 5 Sony colored MD74 discs, and I noticed some jitter with them, which did not happen with my Memorex discs.

I think, Memorex is a great deal for those, who are independent in mind from the brand and is more concentrated on the quality.

Summary: A VERY GOOD BARGAIN
Review: I have bought for a number of years 5 packs (a hundred of MD). There has been only 1 (one) defective. All the other 99 including the rest of the pack were OK.

In quite a number of cases they fell down, were covered with dust, lay on warmed surfaces, etc. which I would not advise anybody to do. So far, however not one of them has broken or has been made unusable in any way. I do not believe, therefore, they are less sturdy than any others.

Different colors come in handy too.

Considering the price the Memorex 20 packs are a very good bargain indeed.

Summary: Best price for minidiscs!
Review: I have had no problems with these minidiscs. Those who complain of their quality probably don't know how to take care of their stuff.

I have bought dozens of these without any problems at all. At ... per disc it is the best deal I've seen for minidiscs!

Summary: All 1's and 0's created equal.
Review: These are great discs at a great price, I will order more. I have found through experience some helpful hints for recording to MD:
1: Shocks: Do not jump or dance while recording live to minidisc on your person. Likewise, do not attempt to record while playing the stereo loud enough to shake the house - it will shake the MD as well.
2: Power: Use fresh batteries or wall power whenever possible while recording.
3: Storage: Sure, it has a little metal door on it, but this also means you cannot wipe the surface free of dust in the event some slips in. The lubricated surface of the disc probably holds dust and grit to the surface, which may cause serious radial scratches during playback/record. Keep the MD's clean, in cases, like the cheap disposable tupperware made now, NOT in the floorboard of your car or loose in purse or backpack.

Special note: Do not let anyone convince you that one manufacture of digital media is superior in sound quality to another. This is balderdash. A one is always a one, and never halfway between a one and a zero.
One potential flaw of these discs is the metal door, which could become bent if snagged on something and yanked on. Don't yank on it, be gentle.

Summary: Good Minidiscs
Review: Wouldn't want to record a minidisc on anything but Memorex. Great quality, and wnoderful amount of music to put on 255 songs or a whole CD. Great choice.
