Summary: Clasic Lite
Review: What is Disney Buena Vista thinking, calling this so-so collection, "The Classic" Collectors set ?
WHERE is "SLEEPING Beauty ?" It seems you if you live in Germany you can purchase the DVD "Sleeping Beauty" on German: Amazon.de

Summary: Classics? I don't think so!
Review: Firstly, I gave this a 2 star and not a 1 star because it does contain 1-2 classics such as "The Little Mermaid" "Lady And The Tramp" and "Jungle Book", but other than that, it's far from being a classic!

Don't get me wrong! I have been a Disney fanatic ever since I was 5 years old and grew up watching Disney movies. But there are so many classic movies which are not included in this box set such as "Cinderella", "snow White and the Seven Dwarfs", "Beauty and the Beast", "Aladdin", and "Lion King". Ok, so "Mulan" and "hercules" are good movies and are worth watching but I dont think they are classics compared to the movies which I mentioned above; and "Lion King II - Simba's Pride"..Hello! This movie didnt even get released in the theatre and the story itself was weird, so how can anyone put this in the "Classics" category?

To everyone out there, if there are some disney movies which you like here, buy them separatly and not this boxed set directly, because Disney is releasing their Platinum Dvd collection, where they will be releasing one Classic movie every year ( last year it was Snow White and this fall they are releasing Beauty and the Beast )..some movies which they will be releasing in their Platinum series will include Aladdin, Little Mermaid, Lion King, Cinderella, Bambi and much much more!

Hope this helped :)

Summary: Would have been better
Review: I love Disney movies since childhood and is now sharing these great moments with my kids. However I feel like it would have been better if classic included the original Lion king. I would still buy these dvd as a collector.

Summary: Booooooooooo........
Review: This is a jacked up box set. *Jacked up* is not the phrase of choice, but it will be for the moment, considering that it's Disney and all (Rated G).......

Don't get me wrong, All of these movies are great Disney movies, but the selection is terrible. I love "Mulan" to death, but It's not quite classic material yet. "Simba's Pride was a decent follow up to "The Lion King", and it stops right there;

How dare you call this a classic box set without "The Lion King".......

Sure, it isn't in print yet, but "Snow White" is, and it fits the classic title better than "Hercules".

All in all, you have classic movies that are mixed up with recent goodies that are bound to be classics (sooner or later) while missing definite classics like "The Lion King" and "Aladdin" and expect for the good Disney customer to pay [money].

Right.

Summary: "Classics"? I Think "Favorites"
Review: I recently bought this collection on DVD from Skinnyguy.com. Although no extras are on these disks, I would buy them if you own these on VHS and have a DVD player. I'm buying them because
1) VHS takes up room
2) I wanted them

Summary: Where's Aladdin and The Lion King??
Review: This boxed-set features many classic disney films, such as: One Hundred and One Dalmatians, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, The Little Mermaid, Lady and the Tramp and The Jungle Book! The rest of them arn't classics, atleast not yet. The Lion King II was very dissapointing, in my opinion!

However, even though the the box-set is superb, it still lacks something, and that something is The Lion King and Aladdin! I consider those two to be the best of the bunch! Disney should have included them. I would have given this box-set 5 stars if it wasn't for the absense of The Lion King and Aladdin.

Dont get this boxed-set! Disney WILL release another one...I know they will!

Summary: Awesome collection
Review: I always am watching one of these Disney movies. When my sister wants to watch a movie she just picks up the box to find the movie; she doesn't look anywhere else. These are the Disney movies you never get tired of watching. I recommend getting this collection if you love Disney movies or have a child that does.

Summary: Revolting Overpriced Collection
Review: Since you can easily buy these titles individually at a fraction of the price this collection makes no sense for any Disney enthusiast. Five more Disney DVDs could be purchased for the extra price being paid for the cardboard box. And Lion King II Simba's pride does not belong in any Disney set dubbed as "classic". Until Lion King and Beauty and the Beast are released Disney has no business releasing a classic DVD collector's set.

Summary: single your dvd's
Review: THE movies even though they are some of disneys best animated films there were just to many there maybe customers who my one two or three but possible not all.THEREFORE it is my belief to offer them single at a time and collector's set you are offering this way may make a choice much easier and do you more sells.

Summary: When you wish upon a star...
Review: ...you get a box of tripe masquerading as a Collector's Set. Few of these films are worth collecting on their own, but in the aggregate they are a total waste of money. The Little Mermaid and Lady & The Tramp are classics and well worth having, but I'm not buying Mulan and Hercules when I have them on VHS already--my daughter rarely asks to watch these films, anyway.

The smart shopper does two things when confronted with a deal like this: 1) Buys the films individually. 2) Looks through their Sunday newspaper sale papers.
