I love South Park. I have always loved South Park. WHY ISN'T THIS ON AMAZON.COM'S TOP 100 BUYS?!! It's a brilliant satire, incredibly fun, crude, rude, and offbeat. How can you resist? Well I guess there are a few ways. Buy this DVD to see the future of satire.

Summary: Finally, the South Park series in season box sets!
Review: Comedy Central's "South Park" is one of the funniest animated shows currently airing. Created by Matt Stone and Trey Parker, the show is about the life of four friends , Stan, Kyle, Kenny and Eric Cartman, along with the citizens of South Park. Previously released in separate dvds of some episodes, we can finally get all the episodes in one boxed set collection of the show. Here are the summary of the episodes listed in this box set.

01 - Cartman Gets An Anal Probe - Cartman is abducted by aliens and so is Ike.
02 - Weight Gain 4000 - Cartman wins an essay contest and beefs up.
03 - Volcano - The boys go hunting and find Scuzzlebutt.
04 - Big Gay Al's Big Gay Boat Ride - Stan has a gay dog and learns about gayness.
05 - An Elephant Makes Love To A Pig - The boys get an elephant and pig to make love.
06 - Death - Grandpa Marsh wants to die and needs Stan's help.
07 - Pink Eye - The town turns into zombies and the boys cut'em up.
08 - Damien - Cartman's birthday and Jesus and Satan fight on pay-per-view.
09 - Starvin' Marvin - The boys get an "ethernopian" instead of a watch.
10 - Mr. Hankey, The Christmas Poo - The town fights over religion and discover Mr.Hanky.
11 - Tom's Rhinoplasty - Mr. Garrison gets a nose job and Stan has a new crush.
12 - Mecha-Streisand - The boys unleash a great evil but
Robert Smith of The Cure saves the day.
13 - Cartman's Mom is a Dirty Slut - They boys search for Cartman's dad, but his mom slept with everyone in town.

Along with this, we also get a lot of special features like audio commentaries from the creators, deleted footage and much more!! This is a must buy for any South Park fan :)

Summary: Hoping to clear some things out.
Review: I read another 'Review' from here asking about the episode where Jesus fights Santa, so here goes in response to that and to hopefully clear some things out for other people.
There are two shorts which are considered South Park pilots (P-1 and P-2), and an actual pilot episode of Cartman Gets and Anal Probe (P-3), which was longer than the original, and was uncensored.
The two shorts are entitled 'The Spirit of Christmas' and were done for a Fox executive that wished to send them out to his friends as christmas cards.
The first one, also known as 'Jesus vs. Santa', featured Jesus fighting Santa at the South Park shopping mall. The second short, also known as 'Jesus vs. Frosty', featured baby Jesus beating the bejeezus out of a snowman the four boys had made that had come to life (all boys remain unnamed, except for one, which looked like Cartman but was actually named Kenny). You can see clips of both shorts on the opening credits for the first four seasons.
'South Park - The Complete First Season' does not officially include either of the two shorts, or the complete pilot episode. There is a slight chance that they might be included as easter eggs in this release, but i wouldn't wanna get anyone's hopes up.
Both shorts and the pilot episode are available for download from the internet.

Summary: Where are the extras!?
Review: Sure the complete boxed set is an awesome idea and long overdue, but where are the documentaries, the commercials, the commentaries? How about the original Christmas short? Not to look a gift horse in the mouth but I think sales could be driven up and a lot of fans could be made very happy with things like this on what should be the ultimate South Park season one collection. The four star rating reflects the quality of the show (which just gets better), but also the lack-luster incentives that fight for a lower rating.

Summary: "Christmas Cards?"
Review: This disc is all you will ever need to know about South Park. The first 13 episodes were amazing, and ground-breaking, and daring. Still are...(if you've never seen them). In these first few shows, they broke every animation taboo known to man, and reveled in it. I applauded their efforts then, and think these episodes should be shown to every animation student, as an example of how far one can go...

So...is this disc going to include the 2 "Christmas card" pilots that sold this as a series in the first place? The first one, crudely done with cardboard cutouts, I am told, had a battle between Santa and Frosty? And the second had a battle between Santa and Jesus? I'm not sure...I've heard of these cartoons a zillion times but they've never been shown, and they've never been put on a dvd. It's time. Especially now, witht the "complete" South Park coming to dvd.

Summary: It's about time
Review: Finally everyone can stop wasting there money on commentary-free South Park dvd's. Trey Parker and Matt Stone are 2 of the funniest guys around, and if this commentary is half as good as their Cannibal The Musical commentary, this set is a must have!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: But does it have the "commentary?"
Review: Although all of these episodes are already available, I wonder
whether this new version will contain the hilarious "commentary"
which existed on the original disk between episodes.

I might have to keep my old disks just to be able to watch Trey and Matt feeding bacon to Macon the pig... ;-)
