Summary: A knee-slapper.
Review: Despite the apparent lack of publicity, the Kings of Comedy tour was a big-grosser and sold out in many venues. This DVD shows footage from one of their shows, and from the word "go," the concert is mercilessly funny. It's hard to pick which of the four comedians is best, because their styles are entirely different. Ghetto jokes abound, and the sexual humor is frank, but it's never mean-spirited or hateful. (By the way, the film "Titanic" gets a serious bashing in this film) I've loaned this DVD to so many people that I had to snap at them and demand that they buy their own! It's THAT good. Also, be sure to check out the extra footage; the ones with DL Hughley are particularly funny. If you're familiar only with his TV sitcom, then you may be surpirsed at what a mouth this dude has. Nevertheless, I'm very glad I grabbed this DVD. Pop this in your player at a party, and laughs are guaranteed.

Summary: Well, it works...
Review: First of all, I liked it, let's not get that wrong, but some of the stuff just wasn't all that funny, the first time through it was hilarious, but I don't know if I can watch half of it and laugh the whole way through again.

Steve Harvey is decent, Cedric isn't good at all I think, D.L. Hughley and Bernie Mac are by far the best, and that's why Bernie is last to perform. He was the main attraction, comedy wise, but just to be there, it was Steve Harvey.

The DVD has good music through it, and has a flash back to the old school rap, 70's. And also has 'Juvenile - Get Your Roll On' video on there as a bonus, with some behind the scenes' footage, it's a hilarious comedy the first way through, but after that, only 2 comedians are funny.

Review: I laughed so hard in the theater I thought I was going to get thrown out. Then again, they would have thrown out over half the theater. This is stand-up by 4 of the great comics of this time, and they are throwing some of their best at you. Admittedly, you cannot watch this every day twice a day, but what movie can be watched at that pace? This movie will make you laugh when you need to laugh.

Summary: BRING THE KINGS HOME !!!
Review: Sit back, relax and get ready to have a blast! The Original Kings of Comedy will have you laughing til' it hurts. This is a rare combination of pure talents. The material is great, the performances even greater. What a kick to watch each one of these stand-ups "kill" the crowd in the manner they did. I'm not going to single out one of the four comedians because they were all very, very funny. Each one had his moments. You must have this dvd in your collection because you'll be watching it over and over. If you happen to have a home cinema system, you'll like it even more because the 5.1 dolby digital "puts you right there"! You'll have the best seat in the house...

Summary: Can't get any better than these cats
Review: After a successful two-year run of the Kings Of Comedy Tour (I went when they came to Atlanta in 1998), they finally decided to make a feature film. With the addition of DL, you have the perfect chemistry for a successful comedy stand up show. All four are exceptionally funny, but it's Bernie Mac who steals the show. He's also the raunchiest of the four, which doesn't really say anything because all of them have R-rated material. So if you have a group of adults over at the house on Saturday evening, pop the DVD in and just sit back and enjoy!!!

Summary: Stop Hatin'! It's a funny movie.
Review: I can't believe someone thought this movie was boring. I'm going to be real in his comedy routine Steve Harvey wasn't that funny, but other times he was. D.L. Hughley was okay he wasn't all that.Cedric The Entertainer was very funny and so was Bernie Mac. If you didn't laugh at this movie you must be a fool.

Summary: Don't waste your money
Review: I recently rented this movie because of all the hype that it has been given. 15 minutes into it I was bored to death and thankful that I didn't pay more to see it on the big screen. I suffered through to the end of it but not once did i laugh at any of the jokes. For the most part it was just background noise while I did other things around my house. I am black and belive in supporting black products/entertainers if they deserve it. This was definitely not worth the hype or my hard earned dollars.

Summary: Still Good
Review: It comes off as a little racist, but it is still funny, and well worth the money.

Summary: Raunchy and hilarious
Review: This film is way over the top and is not for the very young or easily offended. Nonetheless, it's funny stuff. Good comedians are basically social commentators and since these four "Kings" are Black, it stands to reason that they bring their unique perspectives to the stage. Much of the subject matter is not politically correct, but it's what most of us say or have heard said behind closed doors. Plus, it's just comedy and it's doesn't come across as mean-spirited. It's not highbrow, but it's certainly not sinister either.

Though I see where some might have a problem with the language, I enjoyed most of the film and laughed throughout each comedian's set. Steve Harvey does a good job of pacing the show with his take-no-prisoners routines. Man, that whole bit about Rae Carruth was priceless. My other favorite part was at the end when each comedian explains which NBA player personifies his comedy style and Cedric compares himself to Latrell Sprewell.

This concert film does a pretty good job of conveying each comedian's interaction with audience, which showed how much the audience enjoyed the show. The audience connected with Steve reminiscing about Ole School music, D.L.'s mean Big Mama ( we all had one), wishing like Cedric that someone would cross us, and wanting to whoop the tar out some some bad kid like Bernie Mack (figuratively speaking of course).

On the whole, this was a worthwhile flick. I've seen it about 3 times and would see it again in the future.
