Summary: Let's "DO IT" for our country!!!!
Review: When all you had is cable and South Texas HOT sun during the summer, a cool house and the hollow, fun, cheese lyrics of grease 2 kept you entertained. As you pop this DVD into your player, you are quickly reminded why you love to hate this movie and why as much as you hate it, you still can't keep the lyrics out of your head!
The DVD transfer does a decent job in capturing the base of the singing trio in "Mr. Sandman" in the shower, "Reproduction" (Where does the pollen go?) and the bike on "Who's that guy?". The blacks in this particular scene do NOT dissapoint. The visual quality is close to "movie-like" you feel transported back to the 80's and want to solve a rubiks cube while you watch the movie.
The highs in Johnnys Song "Walk, Talk like T birds" are GREAT! You want to see Michelle Phipher stradle a ladder with a phalic tree under her or see her dance and stradle the wind, in the courtyard while everyone ignores her crazy teen ways, this DVD delivers this GREAT cheesy 80's movie and puts it into a GREAT FORMAT! C-O-O-L. . . R-I-D-E-R!

Summary: Best Movie I've Seen!!
Review: I love the movie. The first time i ever saw it i always kept seeing it over and over and over again, i couldnt stop. But i think that shephine should take back jonny caz hez cute as HELL!!! I think the t-birds are cute (all of them). They should also make a grease 3. They can say there going to a back to school reunion and then they can see who is better than each other. For ex: like the pink ladies (grease 1) can have a compition with the other pink ladies(grease 2) to see who's better and the same with the t-birds (grease 1 and 2). I wish i could be in a movie like that.

Summary: Does okay on it's own
Review: I realize that this movie is certainly no "Grease" and comparisons to it fall short, but as a standalone movie it isn't half bad. As a child of the 80's I fell in love with this movie, emulating Michelle Pfeiffer by doing the "Cool Rider" routine at home.

"Grease 2" is a guilty pleasure movie for me. I watch and laugh at home with "Reproduction" and "Who's that guy" and sigh at the end when we learn Shakespeare and Cool Rider are one and the same. If you don't know the songs I write of, I encourage you to pick it up one evening or rainy sunday. You might find it's a guilty pleasure of your own.

Summary: Okay, But Not as Good as The Original
Review: Nothing will ever top the original "Grease." I decided to rent this movie since I am a big fan of Michelle Pfeiffer, so that is the main reason I rented the movie. I was pleased to learn that Michelle has a wonderful singing voice. I didn't know she sang at all. Maxwell Caulfield is wondeful as well, as the love sick Michael who is in love with Stephanie (Pfeiffer). The premise is much like that of the first "Grease" in that you have the 'T-Birds' and the 'Pink Ladies.' I loved the fact that Didi Conn was back for this movie.

The songs are quite different than that of the original movie, but they are good. If you liked the original movie, chances are you will enjoy this one as well. I for one felt that the 'flare' just wasn't there as much as it was for the first movie.

Summary: Not Campy, Just Terrible
Review: I am amazed to see so many positive reviews of this movie on Amazon.com!

Don't believe them. This is a terrible, awful movie which desperately tries to be as good as one tenth of the original. Back in the 1980's it was infamous for being so terrible and age has made it worse.

The plot is non existent, the acting rubbery, and the songs are laughably ridiculous... and not in a campy, Rocky-Horror sort of way. It's embarassingly awful.

Summary: Drew Barrymore likes it, she tells Letterman - so you should
Review: You may recall, if you are old enough, the bomb that Grease 2 was in 1982. That blonde chick was pretty enough, but man, what a film when compared to Grease!? Well, don't compare it to Grease and rent it now, buy it later. Because the film does have a lasting appeal that in some ways is similar to Grease, taking the camp component to its truest level: ie, something bad is so bad it becomes good. Songs about Reproduction, Scoring in bowling as a metaphor for another type of scoring, the film had sex on its mind, but nobody has any. And that makes it a relatively nice film for a kid over 8, but, unlike Grease, which only requires a speech to your kid about not changing who you are for other people, this one may require a bit more closer supervision till they hit 10 or 11.

Summary: GREASE 2
Review: IT WAS ONE OF THE WORSE MOVIES I HAVE SEEN IN A LONG TIME. THE SCRIPT WAS TERRIBLE AND THE MUSIC WAS EVEN WORSE. IT WAS TRULY A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT.

Summary: Camp Classic
Review: "Grease 2" is the ugly stepchild of "Grease." Which makes is all the more fun, kitschy & loveable. Songs are pretty good, and I can still recite some of the lyrics from my youth. Fun to see Pfeiffer at the beginning of her career, and Caulfield plays a great "closet leather guy" (lol). The original "Grease" has become a bit of a cliche, but the sequel is trashy unpretentious fun, and has enough spark & originality to stand on its own merit.

DVD transfer is quite good, finally in its 2.35:1 aspect ratio, and a nice 5.1 remastering, but no extras.

As "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls" was to "Valley of the Dolls," so goes the same for "Grease 2." Perfect midnight movie.

The only reason to dislike it is because everyone says you're supposed to. Think free-- have fun!
