Summary: GOOD - BUT IS IT RIGHT?
Review: When I first saw "American Pie", it was automatically one of my favorite movies. It was taboo, exciting, raunchy, and all-around hilarious. It had a lot of great elements to it. Good cast, pretty original plot, and a funny script. This movie pretty much blossomed all of the actor's careers who were in it.

After a few years though, I watch the movie again, and some of my feelings toward it change. It was still funny, the cast was still good; but some things disturbed me. "American Pie" is considered one of the best TEEN movies ever. It is an R rated movie (and appropriately so) that is extremely explicit and was geared specifically toward teenagers. Many 11, 12, 13, and 14 years olds love this movie. Is it right that they even saw it? Maybe not, but thanks to the marketing for the movie, they were the ones who made up the majority of viewers. What bothers me the most, however, is how it started up a whole new line of movies. Explicit, raunchy, movies all geared toward teens.

Although it's still a good movie, I would enjoy it a lot more and could sleep better at night if it was either geared to more of the adult audience, or they toned the material down a bit.

Summary: What was the point?
Review: American Pie by the end of the film had no point the actors didn't elaborate enough about what exactly was the audience trying to learn here from what I got from the film was if you are a guy you better lose it before the end of high school or you really (...). Give me a break! Films like this are such a bad influence on people they are the kind of films that make people who have not had sex yet feel guilty. Reality wise there is nothing to feel guilty about yet if you have not had sex as a young adult don't play around until you find the right person. The annoying cast was cast perfectly every annoying young actor you would suspect today is in this movie I had to laugh when I saw that kid from Rookie of the Year in this movie it looks like Henry Rowengarter is now looking to get (...). The movie has so many dumb scenes its terrible don't these folks worry about anything else but getting laid. I also had to laugh at the Mr Cool lacrosse/Choir player he's real cool isn't he? What a Lemon of a movie.

Summary: Greatest Comedic Movie
Review: This movie is probably the funniest movie I have ever seen. It definately defines teenage life and its problems. Jason Biggs has great acting as Jim, and Seanne William Scott has one of the funniest roles as "Stifler" ive ever seen. It has a great cast with Shannon Elizabeth, Tara Reid, and Chris Klein. I recommend this movie to ANY teenager. This is definately the greatest movie ever.

Summary: The teen movie of our generation
Review: Forget what ever you may have heard. This is one of the funniest movies ever. The virtual unknown cast (at the time it was made) makes this a cult classic and the measuring stick movie for generations to come. The antics of the gang will have you laughing from start to finish. And Jim's dad...wow! He is funny as heck! You can not go wrong with this one. So much better than the sequal. For anyone who had "one of those years" in high school, you must see this movie.

Summary: Shannon Elizabeth Nude
Review: The three words that make this average teen-sex comedy watchable. Overall, the film itself is just like any other teen-sex comedy since the 1980's.

The extras are absolutely wonderful on this disc set. The deleted scenes are pretty good, some of which should've stayed in the film, others that were deftly left out for a reason.

All in all, the disc is solid.

basis. Just interesting and fun.

Summary: Doesn't make me Laugh. Makes me Cry
Review: This is one of the most disturbing movies ever. I man the father of an 18 year old girl and a 17 year old boy, and that is what bothered about this film.

When I write reviews, I always think of not just what the movies about, but the technical sense and acting. That's why this gets 2 stars instead of one. The acting is fine, and the camera work isn't bad, but this movie bothered me, as a father, more than any other movie I've ever seen.

I like to think my children are good people. They don't do drugs, drink, any of that. But to think that my daughter may be performing oral sex on her boyfriend while she's at a party I feel safe letting her go to? That bothers me. To think when I call my daughter to dinner and she says "I'm coming" it may have a different meaning? That's not something I want to think about.

I hated the way this movie showed a postive attitude towards teenage sex. Teenage sex is not good. It spreads horrible diseases, but in this movie, it's portrayed as being just a regualr thing teenagers do (one character even says "It's not a space shuttle launch. It's sex!") This film is aimed at teens, but makes sex seem so fn, and good, and that if you don't have sex, you're a loser, and I disliked that. You should only have sex with your wife or husband, not just someone you meet at a party.

Anyway, don't show this movie to your teenage children. Ever. Completely innapropriate and twisted.

I'm posted under this name, so I don't give out my E-Mail address.

Summary: The worst movie of the decade
Review: The nineties had some highlights: The Usual Suspects, a war won, a good economy, DVD's, and sony playstation. But we must not forget the fertilizer thrown down to grow these beauties, and the number one suspect here is American Pie. Openly, I will say I hope each and every one of the people associated with this movie becomes a failure in the entertainment industry and works a crummy, unfulfilling job the rest of their natural lives.

This movie committs a number of faux pas right off the bat. 1.) WAY WAY WAY over used plot. 2) Great, popular versions have already been done (see Porky's). 3) Adds nothing new--basically like doing Star Wars over, just changing names and actors. 4) They had plural directors--it was so bad, no one even had a vision for it. Horrible, right?

Oh no, but it gets worse. Every single joke used is a cliche used four million times, not only in Porky's, not only in similar genre'd movies, but movies HAVING NOTHING TO DO WITH THE GENRE. That's right. we're looking at an A #1 writing rip-off.

But let me go on. the plot is designed for 14 year old girls on the cusp of going to High school. Why? Because : 1) The four boys in the story could be a boy band 2) The hunky guy is the most sensitive, followed by the boyfriend 3) There's a walking human dung pile in Stifler who is popular and funny. Why is he a clue? Because a loser like him never picks on girls, but is busy giving wedgies and making fun of people on the honor roll, and dumb little girls laugh at them. Pathetic.

If you want to see the ineptitude of the people involved in this movie, the directors did a just-as-pathetic movie with Chris Rock dying (I did not laugh once) which was a retread of Heaven Can Wait, and the casting director was directly involved in the debacle of Stolen Summer.

Do your self a favor--ignore any movie employed with any person involved in this festival of dunces. And if you are one of those people--well, chances are you can't read anyway.
