Summary: American Pie is a very funny and amusing film.
Review: American Pie is a good film for those who interested in Teen sex comedies. I am not really a fan of the film series but I can tell you that this film has more tasteful humor then many other teen comedies out there. Jason Biggs, Eugene Levy, Shannon Elizabeth, Alyson Hannigan, Chris Klein, Tara Reid,Mena Suvari,Thomas Ian Nicholas, Eddie Kaye Thomas and Ect., combine a good cast of characters that make this film worth watching. I saw the Unrated Edition on DVD. I haven't seen the other editions yet. But what I can tell from this version is that the story can be sweet and touching at the same time it is gross and disgusting. Four guys make a pack to lose there virginity on Prom night. But the way it turns that the guys either get dumped or falls in love with their girlfriend. There are many sweet parts in this movie and it's very touching. Jason Biggs plays Jim. Eugene Levy plays Jim's Dad. Shannon Elizabeth plays Chez Exchange student Nadia. This is the movie that made Shannon Elizabeth famous! Alyson Hannigan plays Michelle. Michelle is always telling stories about Band Camp. "One Time in Band Camp, I did etc.; A good film that deserves all the attention it received in 1999.

Summary: Excellent New Version.
Review: I must say, the reviews by the many people here (including the Seattle and Texas reviewers) are incredibly naive about this fabulous Unrated version of the hilarious American Pie. OK, so this only has about 30 seconds of new footage, but does that make it bad? No. ... This version of American Pie is like that. So much new stuff you'll lose track! I don't even know if I've caught everything yet! I must say though, the Kevin and the Beer scene is MUCH better here, what with the beer being clearer to see the, uh, stuff in it better. Much more realistic and makes the scene all the more funny. But then, the shockingly disgusting and awesome new "Pie" scene is included for your enjoyment. If you thought the original was sick, just check this one out! This is why both versions of American Pie need to be bought. Something else some people haven't noted is the extra moaning in the part in Vicky's bedroom. I must say it was ingenious to add this subtle extra in there, because it really adds to the mood. A LOT! Also, the extra footage with Nadia was a real treat! Both versions of this are classic, so nab a copy of both! Sometime you may feel like you want one pie scene, and another time another! And you can just watch it whenever. Also, get them both in Ultimate Editions, there are a ton of extra features! ...

Review: I agree. The difference between American Pie R-Rated and American Pie Unrated is so unbelievably little that I can't understand why they put out an Unrated edition. Aside from 4 new things (three of which are so small you won't even notice them), this is the EXACT same DVD as the R-Rated version. My advice? Get the R-Rated version, it has a way funnier pie scene and it's the version we all remember seeing in theaters. Later

Summary: Unrated Version, What's New?
Review: This is simply a quick review to tell the difference between American Pie R-Rated and American Pie Unrated. Should you buy both versions? Answer, NO, NO, NO, NO! You should buy one version and forget about the other one. Here's the reasons: 1. On both version (Collector's Edition or Ultimate Edition), the extra features between the two different rated versions is exactly the same. Nothing new, same commentary, documentary, trailer, all of it. 2. There is so little new stuff in the Unrated version that I can't believe they actually made a separate DVD for it. 3. The little booklet included in both versions (Collctor's Edition) is exactly the same, nothing like notes on why the Unrated version exists. Now here's the 4 new things new in Unrated version. 1. The Kevin and the cup of beer scene is a bit more graphic. The beer is clearer in Unrated version. A person who would buy a new DVD for that must be insane. 2. The biggest difference in the movie. The pie scene. In the R-Rated version, Jim has the pie up against the wall and when his dad walks in, he spins around, with it still stuck to him, and says "This is not what it seems." In the Unrated version, he's on top of it on the kitchen counter and he looks up at his dad and sais the same line. I think the Unrated version is funnier, and this seems to be mostly the reason people buy both versions, despite the fact that the most of the original pie scene is in the documentary.... 3. About to extra pages of the Sex Bible, one with a bunch of different sex positions. No big deal. 4. Five more seconds of Nadia on Jim's bed. I seriously tell you, I read about that, and then when I saw it I noiced no diffrence (I've watched the Unrated version twice and the R-Rated version five times). You may ask, how have I seen both versions if I didn't buy them? Well, I was smaart, rented the R version and watched my friend's Unrated version. Anyway, there you have it. Still want both versions? No? Good. Which one do I recommend more? The Unrated version, simply for the pie scene, and the fact that you can see the original pie scene in the documentary. The rest of the stuff doesn't deserve mentioning (though I did mention it). American Pie is a good movie which I give four stars out of five, but the fact Universal tries to cash more money out of us for a "Uncensored Version We Couldn't See In Theaters" that is almost no different makes me mad. Review: "American Pie" is a teenage classic. ... This is the best and should be a new addition for a DVD collection. The greatest scene of course in the movie is the nude scene with Shannon Elizabeth. ... Besides the nudity and all, the movie IS really good and REALLY funny!

Summary: You're Supposed to Eat the Pie
Review: Dirty teenagers. They should just give up. That one nerd ruined a perfectly good apple pie. I was disappointed. Don't touch a flute again. This movie is so raunchy that even a monkey covered its eyes. I was happy with Shannon Elizabeth's Oscar-worthy performance, but the rest of the cast, c'mon! Eugene Levy is hip homey. Guys don't play lacrosse or sing in choir. The Kama Sutra was meant for foreigners. Being a perfect 'A' student, I was upset by watching this distasteful display of today's youth. Insanity!

Summary: You'll Bust a Gut Laughing
Review: "American Pie" is no raunchier than the average run-of-the-mill teen flick, but what makes this a step above the rest is that this movie has a heart. A group of high school seniors make a deal to lose their virginity before graduation, and they all run into all sorts of drama. The cast is a charm. Jason Biggs shines as the loveable dork Jim, who keeps getting into one humiliating episode after another. His scene with Nadia (Shannon Elizabeth) could go down as one of the most hilarious moments in film ever. Seann William Scott is great as the playfully obnoxious Stifler; he's rude and charmless and yet you can't help but still like the dude. Mena Suvari also stands out, as does Tara Reid (which is really saying something). If "There's Something About Mary" was the must-see comedy of 1998, then "American Pie" was the must-see comedy of 1999. It's not too late to pick up this DVD; for one, you'll finally get the chance to know what your friends mean when they recite the one-liner: "this one time, at band camp..."
