Summary: Great Sequel..Lives Up to the First
Review: I really like this sequel. People might think it lacks suspense..I on the other hand feel that this is the sequel that most lives up to the original. I think this is a great movie and Halloween fans should be proud of John Carpenter. I think the hospital atmosphere makes this movie feel like you're enclosed and there's no escaping. I think that bring tension to people knowing that there's no possible way so I think this movie is a definite MUST

Summary: A good sequal
Review: I know most people will tell you this isn't a great horror movie but the reason they are probably saying that is that they are comparing it to the first which you can't do. This movie is no were near as good as the first but I still think it's better than all the movies in the friday the 13th and A nightmare on elm street series and I liked some of those so I have to say that this is a good movie. In this intallment in the Halloween series everyones favorite killer Michael Myers stalks Laurie stode at the hospital. There is definitely more gore and violence in this movie than in the first and so it loses the magic and suspense that the first one had. However it does still provide some scares and a good time. So this movie is a good horror movie but when your comparing it with the first it saddly turns out to be just anohter horror movie

Summary: All Halloween Fans Should Be Proud
Review: If your a halloween fan, there is nothing to be ashamed about halloween II (1981). It's flawed but beleive me there was not many ways to make halloween II a better movie. The movie starts directly after the first. I understand it lacked the suspense of the classic original, I understand it was a bit on the gory side, and I understand the supporting cast was anoying compared to the first. The fact that it followed the same storyline which has been a problem in the halloween series and they brought back the same characters makes this entertaining. Donald Pleasence was once again awesome just like the original. Jamie Lee Curtis was a great screem queen just like the original. It's too bad Curtis spends most of the time in the movie lying on a hospital bed. Two characters who were brought back from the original that made Halloween II succsesful were Sherrif Bracket and Marion Chambers. Also, the supporting cast such as Jimmy, Bud and Karen Are not terrible but annoying. In the classic original Halloweeen, the supporting cast was great to watch. In Halloween II, after a while you will be happy most of the supporting cast dies. For a movie with another low-budget just like the first Halloween, this is still not bad at all. The creepy empty hospital environment created more suspense. It would have better if they had not shown a large portion in the movie in the hospital, but that certainly did not ruin the movie. Unfortunately, Michael Myers is shown a bit too much walking in the hospital halls, which made it less suspenseful opposed to the original Halloween classic. Another bad thing is that the movie was a bit on the gory side, where the original halloween was not gory at all but still very suspenseful. This could be because by this time the first two gory friday the 13th movies which directly ripped of Halloween already came out. The bottomline with Halloween II is that in the original Halloween, director, John Carpenter created suspense by making the viewer wonder what will happen at all times, without any gore. In Halloween II, we only wonder what will happen next every now and then with some unneccesary gore. The ending of the movie was great and intensifying. This was clearly the best sequel of the series. The movie was directed by Rick Rosenthal with the help the orignal Halloween director John Carpenter. After the movie was released there was said to be beef between Rosenthal and Carpenter. Where Rosenthal said Carpenter added a few violent scenes which ruined his movie. Carpenter on the other hand said that he was involved in directed most of the movie and tried to explain to an ignorant Rosenthal how a horror movie should be made. If you take a look at all horror movie sequels, especially the slasher-genre, Halloween II is like the best horror movie sequel out there. Why do people say that this movie sucks because it was not as good as the original classic Halloween in 1978. I don't know. Going back to what I said before Halloween II is flawed but still great to watch.

Summary: Sequels that misses the mark, but still delivers.
Review: Like a rock musician making a follow-up to a 30 million seller, there is no way that the sequel to the modern horror masterpiece Halloween would be considered as good (or better) as the original. Truth be told, this is the best of the Halloween sequels, but it still is riddled with flaws. But overall, I enjoyed it as a companion to the first movie.

Set on the same night the original ended, Michael Myers stalks Laurie Strode to the local hospital, where he undertakes a fresh killing spree. Hot on his coat tails is the eccentric doctor Sam Loomis, screaming "I shot him six times!" and giving more background on Michael and his experiences with him. There are a few plot twists here, but they serve as a small distraction from the blood and gore that is peppered throughout. The logic gaps are plentiful, but as with most slasher flicks, they are to be expected.

The main reason why this is nowhere near as good as the first movie is Michael Myers himself. You see too much of him. The original Halloween had Michael in a more voyeuristic role, only appearing when he stuck. In Halloween II, he's everywhere and in our faces. The less you see of him, the scarier he is. The excessive blood and gore is also a turn-off, since the writers obviously spent most of their time thinking up new ways to kill off the cast. The acting is not too bad, but gone is the strong heroin that Jamie Lee Curtis portrayed in the first movie. Instead, the heroin is catatonic and barely has more than 10 lines throughout the whole movie. But where it delivers is in the atmosphere and the jump scenes that we all enjoy.

The DVD release is bare bones, with a theatrical trailer and nothing much else. The widescreen transfer, though, is a definite improvement over the VHS versions.

Halloween II ultimately failed because of what it had to live up to, but as a stand-alone horror movie, it is not bad. Considering the dredge that was to follow with the next 6 sequels, the original Halloween and Halloween II is all you need from the series.

Summary: OK SEQUEL
Review: IN THIS 1981 SEQUEL, MICHAEL MYERS RETURNS TO FINISH OFF WHAT HE COULDN'T FINISH IN THE 1ST FILM, WHICH IS KILL HIS SISTER. THIS MOVIE IS NOWHERE NEAR AS GOOD AS ITS PREDECESSOR, BUT IT IS MUCH BETTER THAN A LOTTA HORROR SEQUELS. JAMIE LEE CURTIS' ROLE IS WASTED IN THIS FILM. SHE SHOULD'VE BEEN MUCH MORE ACTIVE THAN WHAT SHE WAS. ANYWAY, THIS SEQUEL MANAGES TO BE ALRIGHT. THIS MIGHT NOT BE AS MEMORABLE AS HALLOWEEN 1, BUT IT'S FUN FOR HORROR FANS AND MOVIE FANS IN GENERAL.

Summary: Just Compare To All Horror Movie Sequels
Review: Halloween 2 is not a perfect sequel. However, when you compare it too all the sequels in the Halloween series and even in all the slasher series which all kind of ripped of the original Halloween, especiallly the friday the 13th series, you tell me if Halloween 2 is good or not. How many horror sequels do you see that starts directly after the previous installment, brings back the main characters and follows the same plot with some suprising information. All in all, let me just tell all halloween fans that there was not many other ways to have made Halloween 2 a better movie.

Pros:
Starts directly after the first halloween with same storyline.

All the main characters are brought back from the first.

Donald Peasance intensifying acting.

Creepy atmosphere at Hospital.

Jamie Lee Curtis's Scream Queen type acting.

Intensifying ending.

Cons:
Lacked the suspense of the original, where Michale Myers is shown a bit too much.

A little on the gory side.

Jamie Lee Curtis's role is a bit wasted as she spends alot time lying in a hospital bed.

Movie is shown a little too much inside Hospital.

Summary: Not A Bad Little Sequel...
Review: OK, later on that same halloween night in Haddonfield, Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) is whisked away to the hospital, only to be stalked by her demonic shadow, Michael Myers. Laurie is her old quivering, yet resourceful self. Michael is the unstoppable dreadnaut of death. Dr. Loomis (Donald Pleasance) is still raving about Michael and stalking the evil stalker. The hospital setting is cool and adds to the claustrophobic feel of the movie. I love Laurie and Michael's "relationship". She's the magnet and he's the murderous iron shaving. They are drawn together by forces beyond them both, as the perfect killer / victim. I recommend Halloween 2, especially for it's excellent chase sequence between Laurie and Michael. Watch H2 as a double feature w/ the original...

Summary: Good movie but the DVD lacks
Review: I'll skip the actual movie reviews and get down to the point. There are no special features on this disc, it's presentation is bad, and the picture quality and sound [are bad]. Wait for a box set or until they make a special edition and save your money.

Summary: as goods as #1
Review: this movie was good despite what others say. I loved and I am going to buy it. This was as good as the first.
