Summary: Billy Zane is Demonically Wonderful
Review: This is the first Tales From the Crypt movie and is set up like a television episode complete with standard title sequences. After a short intro, the main story is introduced.

Demons have been trying to take back the universe ever since they were driven back by the creation of light. All they need to succeed is one last key. That key is on Earth. This film is the story of one of the battles to control the key.

Billy Zane is excellent as the demonic searcher. On the side of good we have a good cast of characters that are holed up in a small hotel. They must fight themselves as well as demons as they each are tempted to simply give in and let the demons win. In the end the battle is over but the war still goes on.

The story uses an interesting premise and handles it consistently. While there is some gore and nudity, it is merely incidental to the story and not the reason for it. All in all a very entertaining film with some excellent acting on the part of Zane. Check it out.

Summary: Awesomely Fun Spook-Thriller
Review: A wildly fun rollercoaster of a horror movie, with serious overtones and well-realized characters co-existing perfectly alongside over-the-top "Evil Dead"-style outrageousness. Apocalyptic prophecy, delectable sexuality, blood-ripping violence, "Return Of The Living Dead"-style monsters, Die Hard/Rambo-level heavy firearms, respectful handling of religious themes, emotional vulnerabilty and good-natured high-octane thrills may not have any business mixing together so seamlessly in one movie without at least a few bumps, but they fit together in "Demon Knight" like moon and stars or Halloween and pumpkins. Concerns a drifter in possesion of a mystical artifact coveted by the forces of evil showing up at a boarding house, and the descent of those forces upon the house and its varied inhabitants. A truly great movie, with extra points for having one of the best performances to date by the versatile and gorgeous Brenda Bakke, one of my all-time favorites.

Recommended for fans of "Return Of The Living Dead", "Evil Dead 2", the "Jeepers Creepers" movies, "Night Of The Demons", "Freddy Vs. Jason", "Resident Evil" 1 & 2, and "From Dusk Til Dawn"

Summary: I miss Tales from the Crypt, this is a B movie Classic
Review: This movie falls on the second tier of B movies. It is not as good as Tremors, Death Race 2000, or the Evil Dead trilogy. Nevertheless, it does have its own place on that list. It is a quality, quality flick.

I truly love the Tales from the Crypt series, and I'm amazed it isn't available in a box set (HBO, what are you doing to us?!?!?!). This movie, like the series, has a comic book type feel to it (story moves quickly, for little reason, but some how the story keeps you intrigued enough to make you want to see what's going to happen; even though you already know) partly
because it's based on comic books, but mostly because it has a short story feel to it, while carrying a simple plot.

The acting by Billy Zane, Jada Pinkett, and William Sadler was stupendous. Especially for the type of movie it was. Billy Zane really took this role and ran w/it. It's amazing to me he is not a star on the big screen (though he was very good in Titanic).

This is definitely a must see horror movie, covers all cliches, but remains extremely entertaining. I enjoy viewing this movie every time it's on. As I said, not as good as Tremors or Evil Dead, but it is just a notch below.

Summary: Pleasant surprise
Review: I'm a horror movie buff, and like a movie to make me jump during the scarey scenes not make me laugh. This movie did just that. Well cast with Jada Pinkett, CCH Pounder, and Billy Zane playing the demon. Good action scenes. A good enjoyable film.
