Summary: The commercial advance is very helpfull.
Review: The price was very reasonable, Movie advance and commercial advance is an excelent feature for a VRC for a such a low price. The HI-FI stereo makes a big difference compared to a normal VRC. Good job GE!!

Summary: Great supplement to a DVD player
Review: This is an additional comment to my previous review:

This VCR also has the best still frame picture I've seen on any VCR.

Summary: I like this VCR
Review: This is my first vcr but it is great for the price. Since I am only 11 years old my mom set it up and she had no problems with the clock working or any other possible problems. This vcr fast forwards very quickly compared to my family's 3 year old Phillips one but that might just be from being old. My vcr taped shows on cable but you'll need to read the instructions to understand how to tape stuff. I thought that this vcr could skip commercials but I can't find the button on the remote that it gave me! I played a few movies and the picture came in like a show would. Even the shows that I taped came in great! I think that it is a good vcr for people who just want to tape and watch movies.

Summary: you can't go wrong!
Review: This unit replaces a GE 1CVD5027 that I've had for years and enjoyed until drum motor bearings began to fail. When compared to my old unit, setup was a breeze. Unit is quiet and picture quality on 25 inch TV is quite satisfactory. Hi-Fi for tape playback and stereo broadcasts thru home stereo and home brew surround is very good. I wish unit was heavier. When inserting tape, the unit is easily pushed away. I may attach rubber feet to alleviate this condition. Overall, very pleased.

Summary: Incredible VCR at an Amazing Price!
Review: This VCR is WONDERFUL! I have never seen a clearer picture when you pause this unit. It has multi-speed slow-motion and is crystal clear each frame. Great features like "Movie-Skip" allow you to pop in a rented video tape and the VCR will go straight to the start of the movie. Sound and picture and GREAT!!! That is really all that matters in a VCR, all the extras and just fun too. I love this VCR, I was worried when I saw the inexpensive price, but it is great!

Summary: Why buy a VCR?
Review: Videotape is dead. Get out and buy DVD instead. You'll be happy you did

Summary: Can't wait for GE to make a DVD player
Review: With a bargain line high quality unit like this, I'd love to see what GE could offer in a low priced DVD. It's quiet in operating mode and easy to use. The electronic set up process is a snap! I love the remote and excellent HI FI sound. Also, the freeze frame is the best in clarity I've ever seen in a VCR. Ignore all the higher priced models they don't offer anything this one doesn't have.
