Summary: Good Buy
Review: I just bought this tv on 6-16-02 and so far i have'nt had any problem with it. the picture quality is clear. i have my component system set up thru it and it is the perfect home theater. for the price it is a sound investment.

Summary: Good value, not a great value.
Review: I wanted an inexpensive 27" tv to carry me over until I could afford a really well made television. I have had this TV since last Christmas and I agree that it is a good, not GREAT value for the money. The screen is fine. The sound is ok, However, since day 1, from when the tv is turned on, it emits a high pitch whining sound which is very annoying! This sound continues for about 30 minutes until the tv "warms up'. A new sound is then left, much like a fuzzy, static, low crackle sound. The screen also cuts off written scrolls such as CNN etc written at the bottom, and any news alerts...!!! I wont complain though, cause the only one that comes in is Fox news and that is the main one that I am concerned with, so...In conclusion, this tv is a good value for the money, but comparing it to my 19" Samsung from 10 years ago, that is still a much better value and was great in all around quality for sound and picture and options, being that it was the "Apex" of it's day.I would still pick that over this one. There are PLENTY of other makes and models out there for around the same price as this Apex. Shop around and get a better tv or take your chances. I heard its either a hit or miss with this one, just like their DVD players...Good luck!

Summary: What a Value
Review: When I bought this TV it was 80 dollars. I was under the impression by the reviews that it would last me 2 days, and blow up or something catastrophic like that. None of which has happened. The only thing that has indeed happened is it works great, and I can play my X-box as well as my DVD player. On the TV you can be watching a video, go back to TV no problem. I have read a review saying that a high pitched yell or something happenes. That doesn't happen. The TV is a great buy! If you want to by your kids a TV this is it. Or if your a college student, this is your TV. Still lovin it.

Summary: Perfect for its price
Review: This is just about the least expensive 27" TV on the market, and, if you're trying to get together a decent set of home theatre equipment without spending an arm and a leg, there's nothing better on the market.

However, that does not mean that it's perfect. First of all, the edges, particularly the left and right edge, cut out sooner than is normal for TVs - on several movies I've watched, the text in the opening credits scrolls off the side.

Second of all, the input channels have some bleed - don't expect to be able to use all three of the RCA channels without getting some picture distortion. That said, even if you throw down a bit of money for an A/V switch, this is a value.

Also, there is a stereo version in existence, so if it's really important to you, go ahead and shop around for it. Personally, I go through a reciever, and only use the speakers for a couple very old video game systems, most of which don't even have stereo sound.

Summary: great tv with one minor flaw
Review: there is no stereo! the inputs/outputs are mono. which makes no sense really.

But i really do enjoy this tv. it's great for video games/dvd's. the picture is just crystal. you also have different picture settings you can access with one button press on the remote. default (your setting), theatre, and home. good for switching picture types for games to tv, etc.

the mono sound output is easy to bypass if you just connect the audio out from your dvd/vcr to your stereo. I needed a new TV but want to wait for prices in HDTV's to come down a bit. this is a great TV to hold me over till then and i didnt have to spend alot of money

Summary: Stay away from this product
Review: i bought this model 6 months ago. the volume now pops in and out. you are better off spending an extra 20 bucks, and getting an RCA or someother well-known company brand with stereo.

this model is not worth 60 bucks. unless someone is giving you this television, because you only need one for a couple months. don't buy this.

Summary: Low price...but a bit annoying
Review: After purchasing this TV I was pleased with it's picture and sound for the money I paid. Shortly after, however, it began making a high pitched sound that comes and goes and seems to get worse when colors become bright or intense. I haven't a clue why it does this, but it's enough to really get on your nerves. This may be a fluke...but it's enough to make me think twice about another Apex product coupled with the fact that I can't find any sort of company webpage for any sort of explanation.

Summary: Not bad, but not great
Review: For the money this tv is a pretty good deal, but if you want something that will last a while, sink some more money into a name brand. I've had this tv for a little over a year, and the tube is beginning to show color loss at the two top edges. Also, I have been disappointed with the sound. I know, it's not stereo (I knew that when I bought it) but I was willing to overlook that because I was strapped for cash. But the volume level is difficult to figure out, sometimes it's up to almost full volume and difficult to hear, sometimes it's down to almost lowest and it's still too loud. Also, volume level 10 - 30 or more sometimes makes no apparent difference in the actual volume.

2.5 stars overall.

Summary: Murphy's Law
Review: The TV worked great for the first 30+ days, then I tried to turn it on one day and the power would only stay on for a second and then it would die. I contacted amazon and they said that their 30 day warranty had just expired and that they would not accept the TV back. Don't buy this TV...
