Summary: Great TV, American brand
Review: To correct the person who says Apex is #1 TV brand in China, that's not true. A Chinese company called Si-chuan something is the biggest TV manufacturer in the world (the story was in the Wall Street Journal last week), and they OEM to the U.S. Apex is an American company headquartered in California. They own the majority of a factory or two in China where they make products exclusively for the U.S. -- yep, to tip our trade imbalance in the Chinese's favor! :)

The AT2702 is indeed an incredible value. Backed by a decent warranty, your first impression is, wow, this is almost like a flat screen! Since I'm one of the people who find a flat-screen screen a bit caved in, I actually prefer this tube. Incidentally, the CRT tube is manufactured using Japanese technology, so the quality is excellent.

Apex is fast becoming a big brand in electronics. They can surely improve their customer service, like website, e-mail reponse speed, etc. But I know many who own Apex products and nobody including myself has had any problems. If you are really concerned, use half of the money you save over other 27" TVs to buy a store extended warranty.

Summary: 5 stars for its price range!
Review: UPDATE: I've had this television for well over a year now. Still great television. I've seens a few negative reviews. I have not had any of these problems. It does everything I need to do!

I first bought this television because of the value and the reviews it had received elsewhere. It also had a bunch of RCA hookups and S-Video. Let me tell you that S-Video is a huge step up in signal reception. Coax and RCA can't compare with the sharpness. This is the product's stength. Does it have any weaknesses? I suppose so. When you turn on the tv, it always defaults to the coax feed, so you need to bump it up to the S-Video feed everytime you want to watch television with that feed. Another issue would be mono sound. This doesn't bother me because I feed my sound through a receiver anyway, so I use the television as a monitor only. As I stated before, there are numerous negative reviews here. Maybe I got lucky, but from other websites, I've seen customers who've been as happy with this television as I've been. And for the price its going now... why not? Though their even better Pure Flat screen 27" is starting to get down to this price it has brilliant Component inputs.

Summary: What a Value
Review: When I bought this TV it was 80 dollars. I was under the impression by the reviews that it would last me 2 days, and blow up or something catastrophic like that. None of which has happened. The only thing that has indeed happened is it works great, and I can play my X-box as well as my DVD player. On the TV you can be watching a video, go back to TV no problem. I have read a review saying that a high pitched yell or something happenes. That doesn't happen. The TV is a great buy! If you want to by your kids a TV this is it. Or if your a college student, this is your TV. Still lovin it.
