Summary: Initial problems but nice product
Review: I had a problem similar to another reviewer--my Nomad could connect, I could view the files on it and change settings but I couldn't transfer files. In my case the problem was the USB 2.0 ports on my PC--I tried all the ports and a USB 2.0 hub but got the same problem. Finally I tried an old USB 1.0 hub--suddenly everything worked fine. It turns out this is a known problem with Windows XP and USB 2.0 mass storage devices. Microsoft has a fix but it's not available for download. Creative tech support was no help in solving the problem. However, since I got it working the Nomad has been great. It starts up faster then my MP3 CD player and is very easy to navigate.

Summary: THe sweetest thing Man and women most hAVE
Review: i'm sitting here and about a year ago i got this mp3 player, the first thing about mp2 player is they must space, enough for ur music, how it looks, also must improtant importantly, how it can transfer songs, and connect to any other device.
THe first time i looked at the mp3 player, i thought to myself man this is the most, and best mp3 player, because most mp3 players cost alot of money with little few selections, including looks and space, this item here can keep alot of songs, about 3000 and has many options including connecting the mp3 player to other devices, such as stereo systems, this is improtant cause we all like going to parties and need music to set the mood, the great thing about this item is, u are allowed to
preview a song in seconds before quening it to ur playlists or to listen to, CREATIVE is the best sound producer in the world, they make the sound cards in most computers and items, so u expect the sound quality on this mp3 to be the best there is, u don't need a fast computer to install the program, all u need is this item, and internite connection and a computer, the internite connection if for downloading music offcourse and tranfering takes no more than 4 seconds, this is almost a Window Media player, all in a small devise.

Summary: Do not buy this rubbish
Review: This is the worst electronic item I have ever bought. I have had it for 4 months and I now cannot transfer any music to the Jukebox, despite repeated attempts to resolve the problem with Creative.
Do not buy this, save up for something else instead. By the way I only gave it one star because I can't give it no stars !

Summary: Nothing special, cheaper than the iPod
Review: I got this for [$] and that's why I don't regret buying it. Too be honest I still don't know much about how to use it, partly because I'm too lazy to tinker with something that to me should just be a glorified walkman, but partly because the stupid thing came with basically no manual.

Aside from that I use this thing 5 days a week at the gym and in the car with a tape deck adapter and I can't complain. Occasionally it locks up on me when I load a new playlist or something, so I have to pull the batteries or hit the reset button (need a paperclip for that). Apparently you can only have 2 playlists and mine seem to change at random, sometimes appending each other and sometimes overwriting ... but I am lazy when it comes to this thing, I admit that.

The interface software works fine with win2k and is about as dummy-proof as possible, although I must complain that the Nomad doesn't recognize a lot of my music (probably due to missing tags) so it files the songs under "unknown". My filenames are very hierarchical and descriptive; I don't care about tags, but I can't get this behavior to change.

Summary: I have had mine for over a year and I still love it
Review: After reading some of the other reviews its hard to believe that we talking about the same item. Only thing I would agree with is that it isn't for carrying with you when jogging and such. I keep it plugged in by the computer.

Summary: Not bad
Review: For what it is (an alternative to the ipod, for those of us who don't have 400+ bucks to spend) it's not bad. It plays the music just fine, plenty of volume, lots of memory. Transfer rate from hard drive to the player is very fast, and you can que up all the files at once so all you have to do is wait a few minutes. Transfer from CDs is a little slower and I had some problems with it not transfering all the songs.
On the negative side, navigating around can be very tedious and it's fairly easy to clear your playlist on accident. Battery life [is bad], ... The charger has no indicator lights so you don't really know if your batteries are actually charging or not.
Considering the relatively low price tag and the large amounts of space this is a pretty good buy, as long as you can stand some minor annoyances.

Summary: A good product, but it could be better.
Review: I got this mp3 player for Christmas and so far I really like it. It has great sound and contrary to some other comments, it has plenty of volume. It is fairly easy to transfer music to the unit, although it is more difficult than it needs to be. My biggest problems with it are: 1. Battery life is much too short, only 4 hours. 2. Size: it is bulky and quite heavy, although it fits nicely into my old cd player carrying case so I didnt have to get a new one. Overall, it is easily worth the price tag. Although it doesnt match up to the ipod, it makes up for this in price. For a good, lower priced hard drive mp3 player, this is a great choice.

Summary: Nomad Jukebox (they don't deserve ONE star)
Review: First i'd like to start by saying THIS ITEM IS NOT WORTH BUYING. If you are intrested in buying a MP3 player i suggest you buy the Ipod. Anyways, the nomad's huge size and heaviness takes all the good values of a MP3 player. You want to be able to work out with it and clip it on to your belt not LUG it around all day. Seacondly, the batteries only last 4 hours, if your really lucky, normally its less than 4. Thrid, it skips! which is another huge pisitive for MP3s they aren't supposed to skip! Also Creative's customer serivce is terriablly bad don't count on them to replace a lost CD or cable.
The Nomad Jukebox by creative labs is a disgrace to MP3 players. <<>>

Summary: it holds my entire cd collection...
Review: I have had this product for a year and so far so good. I have my entire cd collection (350+ cds) on one cd player-sized machine and I still have about 20% more room on the hard drive. I haven't played a cd in a year except to rip it to this player. I have had trouble getting it to play downloaded mp3s but it is worth it just to have your entire music collection consolidated.

Summary: Great but support stinks
Review: I really like this MP3 player. I've had two now, but they both break. Don't buy it. Save you money.
