Summary: very nice phone
Review: i bought this phone yesterday. and its super cool! a like it all around. its very very simple to use because of the icons, activation was super easy, and it has endless features i was surprised, it has wallpapers, screensavers, alarm, schedular, tip calculator, rescue calls (for a bad situation), a celebritity can answer your missed calls,u can throw away your PDA, ok ill stop now. it dosent have a camera, but o well, phone cameras are cheesy. the ONLY thing i dont like are the buttons, they are a bit cramed, using one hand makes it a bit difficult, but not really a problem at all. i like it alot and thats for sure. an almost perfect phone 4.9 stars.. :)

Summary: not too shabby
Review: I got the slider phone as a christmas present to myself, and so far I really like it. Besides having a really high wow-factor (hello, it slides), it was really easy to activate (you can do it from their website) and the menus are easy to navigate. It has a lot of really cool features and is very simple to use.
I don't use it a whole lot- I dont really need to- but it's nice to have it for when I DO need it. What's even more nice is that I know that it's not sitting in my purse eating up my money since I'm not paying for anything I'm not using.

Summary: People ask... where did you get it?
Review: The first day that I purchased the phone I was in a movie theater (not the best place to have a cell phone). I was actually turning it off so as to avoid disrupting the audience. The full color screen is so vibrant and interesting. Several people asked me where I bought the phone. Some couldn't believe that it was a pre-paid phone. The vox is a fun phone as well but I enjoy this phone much better. It is a lot more fun with interesting games, and I think the ring tones sound better. The menu is easy to use and speaker phone option is wonderful. You also have the option to review your entire account history online. You will know when you called, how many minutes used and Top Up option is very nice. You can add minutes to the phone by simply choosing top up on the cell phone, paying on line or purchasing the card in the local retailer. This phone is a little more expensive but the compliments that you will receive are endless. If you are in the market for a prepaid phone I don't really see any better option.

Summary: Awesome product!
Review: Just got this phone today, activation was a breeze! The ringtones are beautiful, the color screen is very nice too, and the features are fabulous! I love that you can access the Virgin Extras right from the phone. I would like it if there was a feature to download your own wallpapers and screensavers, but still this phone is a very good buy! The blue backlight is awesome, MUCH better than the usual green. The small size of this phone makes it so convenient, you can put it in a shirt pocket if you need to. The prepaid plan is an awesome deal as well..much better than most, and the reception is the best I've seen. I highly recommend this phone and Virgin Mobile for your prepaid cellular needs.

Summary: Important warning if you buy this phone
Review: Earlier this month I bought 2 of the Virgin Mobile slider phones. I had to call in to activate them since I wanted to 'Port-in' the phone numbers from our old carriers.
A word of warning- one of the numbers went right thru, no problem. It is the second phone number that has become a nightmare. Seventeen days now ( 17!! ) and the phone still has not been activated. I have called Virgin Mobile numerous times and always get the same answer- Yep, the old carrier has released the number, we are just waiting for the process to be completed.
My understanding, and the FCC mandate is the porting process should take no more than 3-4 days. MAX.

I would recommend to anyone who is thinking about changing cell phone carries to get a NEW NUMBER, and not try to port-in your old one. It's crazy. BTW, I filed a complaint with the FCC this morning.

As far as the phone itself, I am generally pleased with it (the one that works that is.) I would have preferred that it was slightly thinner, and a little bit wider so that the buttons could be bigger..... Also the phone is very smooth, it can slide right out of your hand if you aren't careful. ;) It would have a 'better feel' if the phone surface had a slightly rougher texture, like sand. Sound quality is good, the user menu easy to use even without reading the instructions. Customer service is responsive, even if not 100% effective (with my problem)

Summary: WOOT!
Review: I read the info from this site about the virgin mobile v5 slider and today i went out to get it at best buy. the only reason i got it from there instead of amazon was because i had a gift card there and helped out with the cost. i love the look of it and it is very easy to learn to use. virgin mobile has great customer service. i had a problem with my computer while activating it so i called to see if i should do it over and they said none of the info got threw, so i thought i'ld have to do it again, but she did it very fast over the phone for me. i think my only minor complaint is the size of the buttons. i have semi large hands and it took some getting use to. and in the future i would like an option to download new wallpapers, but the ones on there r good too. good luck!

Summary: EVERYTHING you need in a prepay phone
Review: I live in New Hampshire which is pretty much a dead zone for cellular service, but I travel frequently and need a phone when I'm on the road. Enter the Slider. The Virgin service through Sprint covers most of the major highways and I happen to live right by two interstates, so it works at home. It also works just about everywhere else.

The phone itself is a wonderful little thing. Quite possibly the best phone on the market right now, it's ver' cool with all the features you could ever need. Voice dial and the color screen are my personal faves. It is very compact (which means the buttons are small) and a joy to use.

If you need a phone occasionally then this is the one for you. It works everywhere, the pricing is very easy to understand and the phone is a beautiful piece of kit.
