Summary: Using Pretec 56K with Ipaq 3650 Pocket PC
Review: After upgrading the OS of the IPAQ to ver. 1.69 all CF modems would not operate. COMPAQ tech support recommended the PERTEC or thier COMPAQ CF modem. They said PERTEC made it for them. It installed without a hitch and seems quite fast. I have yet to figure out how to "FAX" with it or active the "dialing tones". I'm quite satisfied

Summary: Good Product
Review: Bought this card for my HP 545 Jornada and was able to get it configured within a hour or so. I have a connection that requires a post-connect terminal screen and that was no problem at all. Had a minor problem and e-mailed Pretec's support line and had a response within 10 minutes! Very impressive.

Summary: Superb for AOL Mail
Review: Downloaded AOL Mail for Pocket PC to my iPaq Pocket PC, set up the simple software (access number, user ID, etc), plugged in this modem, tapped Sign On and received mail. First time, every time. It was that simple and works flawlessly. Never even glanced at the very brief instruction manual. It seems perfect for Pocket PCs and AOL.

Summary: Great solution
Review: Great for surfing the web and sending e-mails, I really like the idea of using my iPAQ and these modem rathen than carring a bulky laptop all over. The connection speed is perfect for my needs.

Summary: Pretec CF Modem
Review: How funny! Amazon asked me to "type" in my comments but being so amazed with the Pretec CF modem I'm nuts enough to use my Casio hpc instead! I already had an isp and email connection set up for an external modem. Setup is the hardest part no matter what kind of modem you use but it is an easy task. Therefore I simply changed which kind of modem I wanted to use. As stated in the SIMPLE instruction book, the Pretec showed up as a choice and I selected it. I was online making this review within half a minute. Great product! Love the CF method of compatibility too. Gotta buy that camera next! Hello, Amazon?

Summary: COOL MODEM!!
Review: I bought a Jornada 525 recently and I started searching for a modem. I am glad I got myself this little gadget. It was very easy to set it up. The step by step instructions can't be better. This is a real plug and play beauty. In less than 10 minutes I was surfing the web. The only downside is that it doesn't have a light indicator when it is connecting or any sound at all. Above all, a great and reliable modem!

Summary: Beware Cassiopeia E-125 Owners!
Review: I bought the Pretec 56K CompactFlash Modem for my Cassiopeia E-125, only to learn (from technicians at Pretec) that the E-125 is a battery hog, as is the Pretec modem. In other words, although this modem works fine with other Casio units, it requires you to use the AC adapter to make it work. At least that's what the tech guy told me. He even recommended buying a different brand for the E-125.

And even plugged in, I haven't gotten the thing to work yet.

Summary: Works very well but do youreally need it?
Review: I bought this fine product right after I bought my Pocket PC. It plugged right in and i dialed up my earthlink account with no problem. I dont think it could have been easier. The only thing is, i have only used it 3 or 4 times. Whats the point? Pocket IE works well but the view is way to small. Its cool to be able to pull up web pages on your Pocket PC but it looses its coolness pretty quick. Now a wireless modem would be useful but they are a lot more expensive and have additional monthly fees.
