Review: Although some things with this player are kind of confusing, like how you have to set the radio presets through the software, it's pretty quick and easy when downloading and erasing MP3s. I can't compare this player to any others, however I'm satisfied with the product.

Review: It works great except for the battery cover and clock. I can't set the clock for some reason i think the y2k thing was never fixed on it; i dunno. And the battery cover comes off easily when there is no memory card in the player. But other than that i think it works great. The lock buttons on it are also good for whenever you take it with you when doing something when you might accidentally press a button. I took it snowboarding with me and nothing happened; the battery didn't die or anything else that would keep me from listening from my music.

Review: This is my third mp3 player. BEST BY FAR. After this, I will never by another diamond product. MP3's sound fantastic and the volume is great, I love to listen loud. The FM tuner sounds great despite what I've read from other reviewers. As an owner of a sound studio, my standards are high, and the Nomad sounds excellent. The big test was to see if the management software and data transfer was a breeze or not. Took about 15 secs to load the software plug in the device and start transferring my mp3s. the software is the better than rio port (diamond's). I haven't owned this product long enough to speak for its durability, but the basic design is tight and puts the new RIO 600 to shame, and is a step above my old RIO 500. The remote control is a very handy tool to keep the main unit deep in your pocket or backpack. As long as it keeps up what it's doing, it will be on my recommend list for all. enjoy.

Review: FM Radio with preset, 64 megs, and voice recorder WOW. I just got my Nomad 2 a few days ago, and i cant stop useing it. Every feature you could want is in this thing. A clear FM radio, and a great voice recorder. a Lock mode so you cant screw things up, and it holds 64 megs. For the price you CAN'T beat this. The new ones comming out are twice this much, and do not even have an FM radio. Here when you get sick of your MP3s you can turn on your radio. Very nice MP3 player. I Highly suggest you pick this one!

Summary: Great Purchase
Review: This was a wise purchase. I'm glad I got it. The only thing I didn't like was the headphones that came with it. The headphones are cheap and are built for a two-year old's head. Other than that, I am really satisfied. I also got the docking station which adds the rechargeability feature and makes downloads much easier.

Summary: Don't be fooled...
Review: Don't be fooled by the fact that Creative SAYS it will work with Windows 2000 and ME. I won't work correctly without several work arounds including doing without anti-virus software running on your PC. In an effort to sell more of these they have irresponsively included these operating systems but I think rather prematurely. I shouldn't have to implement 4 or 5 work arounds to use a product. They've lost a customer.

Summary: No, No, No on Creative's Nomad II
Review: This player sports an impressive list of features on paper that are all underwhelming in use. The playlist's inability to support long filenames and the horrible reception of the FM tuner are the main reasons I returned my unit.Had it not been for these two issues I simply would have exchanged it for another that did not randomly lock up apporoximately every 20 minutes during mp3 playback. I hear the jukebox is a great alternative though its a little heave for its size, but definitely stay away from this poorly executed product.

Review: I recently got both versions of this device. After using them for 2 months or so I think it's time to tell about my experiences. First you should know, that the MG version sounds much better and also seems to have a much better radio tuner, which is suitable for mobile use. The ordinary Nomad 2 has a more useful display, but the sound really sucks. Overtuning and cracks during radio playback are a steady companion. On contrary the MG Nomad 2 sounds remarkably better (actually as good as it looks) and the finish of the hardware is top quality comparable with SONY standarts on mobile devices. But beware: Handling is a real mess. It will make you crazy accidentially pressing various buttoms on the mg. If you are about to choose, take the much more expensive Nomad 2 MG. At least it sounds good and is the best visual design availlable on the market. The ordinary Nomad 2 is a 100% disappointment and a shame for Creative's hardware line up

Summary: Great product overall, but . . . !
Review: I purchased the Nomad II because it was one of the few at the time that had a built-in FM receiver (a must-have for the commute!). I'm very pleased with the device itself: FM reception is good, the MP3 player has all the necessary features, and the large LCD display is kind to my old eyes! The in-cable control dongle is particularly useful. And the machine is flash programmable, which means as new music formats come out they can provide an updater for them (there's already an update available for WMA!). My only complaints are with the software. The custom version of MusicMatch Jukebox stepped all over my installed version of the same program, necessitating removing it and reinstalling the original. And the Manager software used to load MP3s onto the player has a very poor interface that is small and not resizable, and it doesn't support copying MP3s from the player back to the PC! What's with that?! Worst, it displays the filenames for the MP3s loaded on the player in cryptic DOS 8.3 filenames, and, unlike other programs I've seen, doesn't display the title when you hover the mouse over the file name. Instead you have to click the file nam then click the properties button to figure out the name, then click the Cancel button to get back to the file list. Try that for 10 songs! Hopefully updated software is in the works.

Summary: Watch Out for Creative Labs Warranty
Review: The warranty period for the Nomad II is only 90 days. Mine went out after about 95 days and I was told I had to cough up another $77.00 to replace the bare unit. Creative Labs' quality is about the worst I have ever come across. Stay away from their products if you don't want to get ripped off
