Rating: Summary: I think Ender's Game had a great plot, and a good ending. Review: Ender's Game starts right off, and gets to the point, I like books like that get to the main point quick. The auther does a great job of showing Ender's personality, and a great job of telling the story. It was also good how he included Valentine, and Peter, and didn't leave them out when Ender left. This book is a good all around book, and I would recommend it to anyone.
Rating: Summary: wonderful book Review: i really liked this book. it was very riveting, it held you until you finsihed the book. i read it like in two days! it hought it was very creative and i enjoyed it.
Rating: Summary: Very good book but the ending Review: I liked the book a lot, until I got to the end. The whole story was gripping, there were a few things I did not like at all. The way he ends the book was very weak. At one point after the major battle he should have concluded the book, then he should have started another book from that point on. In my opinion, I think that Orson could have done a lot better, but he gets these weird ideas and thinks he must put them in so that they'll help his story. Unfortunately, some of these ideas ruin the experience for the reader.
Rating: Summary: One of THE Best Books on the Market Review: I have a broad range of topics and genres that interest me, science fiction is merely one of them. BUT, out of all the types of books that I have read (romance, mystery, adventure, horror, sci-fi), Ender's Game is one of the most outstanding books in print today. The story is in itself riveting. Deep and emotional, we discover that there's a little bit of Ender in all of us, which is why the story is capable of making such a tremendous impact on the reader's life. One of the things in this book that I like so much is the way Card helps the reader follow Ender's line of thinking so well. His solutions, while brilliantly well thought, are in many cases, just common sense. But the reader is well aware of the fact that most of us wouldn't have been able to think ourselves out of a wet paper sack in the same situations. We are left feeling dazed and more than a little amazed. Still, I think it is hard to read this book without the benefit of a few kleenex boxes nearby. Card is absolutely magic at making the reader actually feel Ender's loneliness and isolation. It should be considered mandatory reading and will surely go down as a classic. A truly wonderful story and very enjoyable. It is not, however, a light, easy read and definitely not for the faint of heart. It WILL penetrate down to your very core.
Rating: Summary: this man is a genius Review: If one book ever changed my life, it was this one. On a level of story-writing, Card is the greatest writer I have ever read. He brings Hemingway and Salinger to their knees when compared with them. Freud knows nothing of the human psyche when compared with card, and he makes Plato seem downright dull when it comes to philosophy. On a more personal note, the perspective that he shows in this book very possibly helped save my life. If one book should be read in a lifetime it's this one. No one understands humanity more than Card, and his character of Ender reflects that.
Rating: Summary: Ender's Game has taught me so much Review: Like the tagline says, Ender's Game has taught me a lot. It never fails to give me new insights on life. All of the characters are full and round. I've read this book over and over and over again. I cannot begin to describe how great it was, so I won't try. Just read it.
Rating: Summary: Simply the best Sci-fi book I have ever read. Review: With all of the books available and my limited time to spend reading it is rare that I go back and re-read a book. "Enders Game" is one of those rare novels that needs to be cracked open every couple of years or so. Although set in the future it is a tale that would endear itself to those who can't stand sci-fi as a genre. Just read it already!
Rating: Summary: Ender's Game kept me enertained to the last word. Review: Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card is an excellent book. I gave it five stars because it kept me entertained for hours. I loved the reality of the situations that Ender was put into and could often relate to them too. He was teased from the time he was born because he was "the third". The population regulation laws prohibited more than two children in a family, but he was a special case. He was always the brightest student in the calss and discovered things that even his teachers didn't know. This only opened more doors to taunting and torture by the other kids. The taunting was both realistic and familiar. I could relate to the taunting, and think it's a lot of what really made this book come alive for me. At age six Ender was chosen to go into space. This caused his brother, who already hated him to a murderous state, to hate him even more. His sister still loved him though, and she was, in his view, the only one who loved him. In his launchie group he was again subjected to torture. When he finally did make friends he was ripped away from them again. I personally can relate to that and think a lot of other people can too, that, I think, is why I liked the book so much.
Rating: Summary: Just Great Review: I do a book of the week for a message board online, and when I finished this, I knew it was the first one. It's a great read, and if you have an active immagination, you will accually visualize your self in it. It's got that much description.
Rating: Summary: best book i have ever read Review: The book captures Ender's emotions and transfers them to you, the reader, you feel the agony of defeat and the satisfaction of success. If you open the first book you will read the whole series.
