Rating: Summary: Boring Read Says Teacher Review: I thought that this book was just awful, and could not even finish it. I am about 100 pages away from the end and can't get myself to read it. The plot was ridiculously unusual, the characters obnoxious, and I highly discourage parents from having their children read it. I honestly don't understand how it won the Newbury Award...I guess that goes to show how awards aren't everything.
Rating: Summary: If you liked Harry Potter you will like this! Review: I thought that this book was really good, easy, and well written. A must read!
Rating: Summary: Holes- The best book on Earth Review: I thought that this book was remarkable. I cried numerous times through the book due to the events that the character Stanley and his best friend Zero had to face before the curse had lifted. I am an eigth grade Student and I am fourteen years old and I believe that this is one of the best books that I have ever read in my short years. Louis Sachar really captures innocense and heartship through his characters. Camp Green Lake and what it represented was brilliant! I love this book and would recommend this book to anyone.
Rating: Summary: It gives you the feeling that you are really there!!!!!! Review: I thought that this book was supurb. I never wanted it to end
Rating: Summary: Holes review Review: I thought that this book was very ineresting & funny. When you are reading the book you get to learn and you get to have fun.So far my favorite part is when Madame Zeroni tellw Stanleys great great grandfather to carry a pig up and down the mountain everyday to get a wife and when he doesn't he gets cursed. Also the things you learn from this book are: 1.Most of the time when you stand up for your friends you or your friend will not get punished. 2.If things do not always go the way you want them to, everything will be o.k.
Rating: Summary: Enjoyable Book for Young Kids Review: I thought that thisbook was great. The book is about a kid who gets accused of stealing a pair of sneakers from a famus basketball player. He goes to a camp where he has to dig holes all day long. His family had a history of bad luck. His father is trying to make a foot odor preventor. Read this book to find out more. This book teaches many life lessonings. Like the power of friendship.
Rating: Summary: Dig it Up Review: I thought the book Holes by Louis Sachar was awesome. I thought this, because that was the first chapter book I ever read. Now, I think reading is great. I gave Holes book five stars. I gave it five stars because it was really good. My favorite character was Stanley. He was my favorite character because he tried his hardest at digging those holes. The problem in this book was that Stanley's family could not afford enough money hire a lawyer, so he had to make a decision, either to go to camp or go to jail. I would recommend this book because it was a great story. I thought it was great for anyone to read. The book was about characters digging holes. They had to dig holes because it's a punishment for something bad they did. They're looking for a treasure. I saw the movie and it was a little different from the book. In conclusion, I think you should read books a lot to make you much smarter because reading makes you smart!
Rating: Summary: Holes Review: i thought the book Holes was a very interesting book. it had lots of good details about correctional camps for boys. I gave the book 5 stars. I really enjoyed it.
Rating: Summary: Holes Review: I thought the book holes was good. It was about a boy named Stanley,Yelnats. When he is convicted of a crime he did not do he has a choice between jail or camp green lake.He choses camp green lake thinking it would be better than jail. But he was wrong it was worst than jail the warding would make them dig holes to find a tresure.
Rating: Summary: My Review of Holes Review: I thought the book Holes was great and wonderful but there were some ups and downs. The book was very suspenseful. The book was full of suprises. I love the way Sachar makes his quotes-- for example, "no-good-dirty-rotten..." or "I can fix that." I also liked how Sachar gave the characters their names, such as Twitch or Zero. Sachar would keep going back and forth in the book. Sachar would talk about this generation then talk about something else and then go back to the same generation. It would be like your mom always reminding you something every minute.I didn't like when he threw in characters and barely used them, and when things wouldn't make sense to me. Otherwise, I loved the book.
