Summary: Way cool book!
Review: In this book, there is suspence, danger, and a lesson. The suspence is knowing things that the main character Stanley doesn't. The danger is getting caught by the camp warden. The lesson is pretty obvious. This was a terrific book, and so are all the others that Louis Sachar has written!

Camp Green Lake is a dried up lake that was once a busy city until the lake dried up. At this camp the juveneils are given a shovel to dig a hole 5 ft. deep and 5 ft. wide. Staneley realizes he is not just digging for punishment. Staneley is determined to find out whats really going on. If I rated this book like I rate movies it would get five stars. Louis Sachar wrote this book so well that I could picture every scene perfectly. This book is number one on my list.

Summary: The Book Full Of Holes
Review: Is there anything wrong in Camp Green Lake? Holes is an amazing and excellent book. Holes is written by Louis Sachar and the book is realistic fiction. Stanley Yelnats is a young boy. His family is under a curse and that curse started when his no-good-dirty-rotten-pig-stealing great-great-grandfather was alive. The curse made his whole family has really bad luck.
This story happened when a kid stole a baseball player's best shoe. Then the kid was sent to Camp Green Lake, that's the place to turn bad boys into good boys by digging a hole everyday under the flaming fireball.
Stanley was arrested and was given a choice either to go to Camp Green Lake or to the dark jail. He was innocent and he was not the person who stole the baseball star's shoe. He was arrested because of his bad luck and he knew sooner or later he would get bad luck. He was told to dig a hole everyday under the sun to turn back to a good kid. One day Stanley finds out the warden, a women, wants them to dig a hole everyday is because she thinks there is a box that has her name on it. Stanley finds the treasure, but will he get rewarded? It is for you to find out. So get reading!!
I recommend this book because its got a brilliant story and I bet everyone who reads it will love it!! I also recommend this book because it is exciting and adventurous.

Summary: Holes is about a boy accused of stealing shoes.
Review: It all started when Stanley Yelnats was accused of stealing Clyde Livingston's shoes. "Go to jail or camp," the judge had said. Stanley picked camp, Camp Green Lake. When my class read Holes by Louis Sachar, I felt as if I were there. In the hot, barren desert area of Camp Green Lake,Texas, where the story takes place,Stanley was sent to dig holes. He had claimed that his rotten, pig stealing great grandfather had been cursed, and that the whole Yelnats family had been cursed too, cursed with bad luck. That's why he was here at Camp Green Lake. Every day, Stanley has to dig one hole, five feet wide and five feet deep. While digging one day, Stanley uncovers a golden tube with K.B. inscribed on the bottom. "If you find anything interesting report it to me, if I like it I'll show it to the Warden. If the Warden likes it, you'll get the day off," Mr. Sir, (Stanley's counselor)had said. Stanley suspects that he is digging more that "to build character," they might be looking for treasure! I liked Holes because I thought the setting went well with the plot. The book was written so it made you want to keep going and going and never stopping. The characters were well drawn, and seemed so real that they came alive. The only thing I didn't like was the ending. It left you in the air with questions that weren't answered. Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone, and I can clearly see that they would enjoy it.

When Stanley tries to help out his father by stealing a pair of shoes to help his father with his work, he gets caught and has a choice whether to go to jail or Camp Green Lake.
