Rating: Summary: "A Great Read" Review: My favorite book is Holes by Louis Sachar. Holes is a fun book to read because you never can put it down, because of all the funny parts. This book is funny, because of how he gets to camp Green lake. I love this book because of the dangerous yellow-spotted lizards they are always looking out for. The final reason you should read this book is because the author put a spell on his book to make you think you were there. One example is when he was digging, he was sweating so hard that you could feel the burn from the heat of the sun. Those were the reason I like it and I think you will, too.

Rating: Summary: A great read Review: My favorite book would have to be Holes,by Louis Sachar. I like Holes because it relates to me.In the story Stanley is sent away to Camp Green Lake.At the camp Stanley, along with other kids, has to dig holes 5 feet long, and 5 feet deep. I wasn't sent to a camp when I got grounded. I also didn't have to dig holes that deep. Another reason I like this book is that it is very detailed. My days are pretty much like the books days. Another thing I like about this book is the nicknames the boys have. I have a few nicknames like Weirdo,Freak, and Crazy. Those aren't the nicknames I wan't though. All of my reasons I like this book makes it my favorite. I hope I have inspired you to read this book.

Rating: Summary: I Actualy rate this book a 3 1/2! Review: My Feelings are divided for the book Holes. I'm not a big fan of realistic fiction but this book wasn't bad. I liked it, just I wish Sacher told you more about what happens. Otherwise it was good. My favorite charater was Twitch. He wasn't mentioned alot in the book but he played a big part. You'll find out about it when you read it.By-- I-couldn't-think-of-a-name
Rating: Summary: A must-read! Review: My fifth-graders love Louis Sachar, and he has really outdone himself with Holes. We are reading the book during our morning snack time, and the students groan when we have to stop! The idea of including two (or more) stories in one makes the book interesting, as we read on to see what will happen next. Stanley is a hero to all teachers as he takes the time to teach his fellow inmate, Zero, how to read and write, never knowing the deeper connection he has to this boy. I am hoping for a sequel...My students will be as anxious to find out what happens to Stanley as they are to know more about Bradley Chalkers in There's A Boy in the Girl's Bathroom.
Rating: Summary: Holes Review: My friend and I are in the sixth grade and our teacher read us the book Holes. We think it is a great book. It starts out a little confusing in the beginning but in the end it all comes together! When you read it you can't wait to see what is going to happen next! This book is about a boy named Stanley. He gets sent to a camp for kids that have commited crimes. Each day they must dig a hole. One day his friend Zero runs away. Stanley runs away also to find him. They whined up together for the rest of the book.Once you start this book you will never put it down!
Rating: Summary: I wish the stupid stars went higher Review: My gosh. They are already coming out with the movie! Louis Sachar really hit the spot. I feel bad to this day for Zero. The only thing that kinda didn't go for me were the yellow spotted lizards. That doesn't mean much anyway. I think they should have been a little bit scarier. The book altogether was majestic. I pity a fool who doesn't like this book or hasn't read it. The book gave me a very vivid picture of the holes. You have to read it.
Rating: Summary: This is a delightful book Review: My husband had Holes to read to see if it would be appropriate for his third-graders. I picked it up on vacation and loved it. The interweaving of several storylines, past and present, is wonderful. I enjoyed being surprised as the past somehow managed to always help out in the present. I read Harry Potter at the same time and enjoyed that as well, but Holes is a much more sophisticated, inventive book. I'd recommend it to advanced third graders up to adults.
Rating: Summary: My 4th grade class didn't want me to stop reading it to them Review: My kids were hooked from the first sentence. It opened lots of avenues for discussion in class and was a wonderful introduction to subplots in writing. They groaned when I stopped reading it each day. That is a testamony of the highest order!!
