Rating: Summary: What They Thought Was A Punishments Review: What They Thought Was A Punishments Imagine living in a perfect world except for one thing everybody hates punishments. In the Camp Green Lake the punishment was to dig holes, well that's how they thought people should be punished. You are probably thinking what kind of author would write about an outrageous topic. Well the first person at the top of my head was focuses louis sachar. All that is in his mind is made up of is incredible and outrages topics even though it would never happen ,well in less you are the character Stanley. He was mistakenly for steeling a shoe and ends up in camp green lake where there's no lake. Not only has it won the John newberry. medal I really like the way he added two or three stories in the middle of the book and at the end he Johns or relates the stories together I also like the way he thinks like a kid I recommend it to children from ages 9and up
Rating: Summary: Can you rate this book zero Review: What was Sachar thinking yellow, spotted lizards, black teeth white tongue Mr SIR. And it won a stupid newberry medal. I know kids who have written more entertaining stories.
Rating: Summary: Holes Review: What would you do if you got bitten by a yellow spotted lizard! Holes is a great book. It is one of the best books I have ever read. Stanley risks his life to save his friend and runs away from camp. Jake gets caught but he goes home because they finally see that Stanley is innocent for stealing Clyde Livingston shoes.
Rating: Summary: Much better than wayside. Review: When I bought this book I was just looking for a book that was good. I had no idea that I was going to read it in about 1 day. This book has comedy, adventure, and there is a lot of Holes that Louis Sachar leaves for you to figure out on your own. It all starts out with Stanley, a wrongly accused teenager who is sent to a camp where every day you have to dig a hole 5 feet deep 5 feet wide. The warden of the camp is a very misterius woman. This book is much better than Harry Potter which leaves you so bored you have a headache in the beggining. This book is easily one of my favorites and is one of the best of all time.
Rating: Summary: Holes Review: When I checked Holes out of the library, I wasn't sure I would like the book because it wasn't something that I normally like to read. I started reafing the book Holes and got caught up in the book. I could hardly put it down! The only part that I didn't like about Holes was the way the book would talk about the main character(Stanley Yelnats)and then switch over to his ancestors. This book is a a great book. I would recommend it to my friends with the same reading interests as me.
Rating: Summary: Great Book! Review: When I first got Holes, I didn't read it. I kept putting it off. But when I finally did read it, I loved it! It is about Stanley Yelnats and how he went to a camp. He had to dig one hole everyday! Holes tells about Stanley's family's past as well as what is going on at camp. This is a great book and I definitely recommend it to you. And remember, don't put off reading it. Just pick it up and start right away, because it's a great book!
Rating: Summary: A really good read. Review: When I first read a description of "Holes", I was immediately interested. I can definitely see why it received such a great honor, the Newbery Medal. "Holes" is the story of Stanley Yelnats IV (his name is a palindrome.) He is framed for a crime he did not commit, and chooses to go to a special camp for juveniles rather than to jail. (Stanley's family has had bad luck all the way back to Stanley Yelnats I, who broke a promise to a gypsy.) Camp Green Lake, however, is nothing like Stanley expects. As the author informs us on the first page, there is no lake at Camp Green Lake. It dried up years ago. The boys who live there are forced to dig a 5-foot hole every day. Sachar leaves "holes" in the story, jumping back and forth to different places and times, but they are filled in, and the secret of Camp Green Lake is finally revealed. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a little suspense and a lot of fun.
Rating: Summary: Holes- The Best Book You'll Ever Read! Review: When I first read this book, I thought it was incredible! You can't stop reading it. That's how great it is! The way Louis Sachar wrote this book was amazing. The story is one huge circle. It was a book that made you think. If you missed one small detail you wouldn't be able to figure stuff out later on in the book. The main character is Stanley Yelnats, Stanley is a boy who's family over the years been cursed with bad luck, thanks to a ancestor from long ago. This book is funny, interesting, and strange. It's one of the best books I ever read. I highly recommend this book to anyone. I promise they would enjoy it!
Rating: Summary: ~Pigs and Lizards~ Review: When I first saw the cover I thought it was really going to be about real holes.I thought it was going to be about worms and what it is and stuff. No way! Never judge a book by its cover. You're stereotyping! It's very confusing at first but once you catch on you're considered a person who knows their evidence. You will be so0o0o surprised when... oh yeah I can't tell you, I guess you will have to read the book and find out for yourself!Good luck my little PIGLET! :)
