Rating: Summary: Pay no attention to the one-star reviews Review: There are many one-star reviews because this book has been "Freeped." "Freeping" is done by "Freepers" who are fans of a certain right-wingnut website which shall remain nameless. Most of these people can't read, and they certainly didn't read this book, as is evident from their reviews. This is a wonderful book written eloquently by a wonderful woman who will be president one day (I hope)! Get this book and get her perspective on important issues.
Rating: Summary: Living History Review: when I read the reviews of others here, I can tell that lots of reviewers have not read, but very quick to judge her as Liar. I can tell that the rightwing republicans will not spend money on this book. They have already made up their mind. They will listen Fox and Russ and will write the review here.
Rating: Summary: Living History, how about Living Herstory? Review: This book is all spin. Until the former first lady retires from politics completely, I wouldn't waste my time reading anything recounting her life, as she's definitely got an agenda that this book is going to help promote.
Rating: Summary: NONFICTION?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Review: Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha, god save us; god please save us all. What did we do to deserve this????? I blame the 60's..............
Rating: Summary: Hillary's Excellent Book Review: I bought this book the day it went on sale and have enjoyed reading it very much. It helped me relive the years from 1980-2000. Hillary is an excellent writer and this is a studious autobiography.
Rating: Summary: Perfect Book in today's world Review: Its a perfect book in today's environment. It has enough feelings and details for someone who cares. If you long for stable economic period - this would be your option. All Clinton Haters may gang up - even then The Clintons would stand the Test of time and history will prove them correct. In current environment of Govenrnment supporting Big Business (Oil, Drug Companies, Airlines, Insurance and Defence Suppliers) - there should be people standing for little man. There should be someone who can bring peace, safety and good economic times back !! Ah good old days !
Rating: Summary: Is it necessary to read, let alone buy a book... Review: before you write a review. I was just wondering.
Rating: Summary: Brilliant? No stupid, deceitful and written by someone else. Review: This propoganda piece not written by Hillary but by spinmeisters and disguised as a book should definitely be placed in the fiction category. Don't pay for the book, read the Time excerpt and you'll know all you need to know about this conniving, deceitful woman. Right wing conspiracy, blah blah blah, I was deceived too, blah blah blah. Most of the people involved in her stories have already come out to say Hillary is hallucinating. Brilliant and Presidential? How about conniving and unethical.
Rating: Summary: getting a small glimpse of what makes Hillary tick Review: I'm about a third of the way through the book, although I have peaked ahead. I think it's ironic that everyone's talking about the Monica episode, and that's maybe 5 percent of the book. Of course, that's probably a big selling point, and Simon & Schuster must be thrilled. "Living History," however, is not the least bit prurient; I had to shake my head when I read one "reviewer" here say the book was filled with sex. There's no sex whatsoever (just Hillary dealing with the fallout from her husband's betrayal), and Hillary does talk about the issues she cares about. I do wish there were more anecdotes in the book, though. That's how you get a closer look at someone's character, and Hillary remains an enigma in many ways.
Rating: Summary: Get Real Review: The fact that so many reviewers have trashed Hillary and her book gets at the very heart of Living History. Whether you are a devout Clinton fan or a devout conservative, there is something about the Clintons- Hillary in particular- which has caught national attention and international imagination. Hillary's time may not have come yet, but Hillary herself has. In Living History she recounts her years inside and outside the White House in brief, but memorable passages. Those who complain that her controversial image is tired ought to wake up and look in the mirror themselves: Hillary is a legend as well as a spectacle that most people cannot pull their eyes away from. Don't think she's genuine? That's not the point. Don't think a woman should run? Too late. Hillary has arrived.
