Summary: More Americans should read this book
Review: I just finished the book, and I must say: well done! Regardless of your political leanings, read this book and you'll have to admit that Sean loves his country, loves his freedom, and is doing what (he feels) it takes to preserve it. He breaks down his case quite well, giving factual examples of what led him to his (conservative) conclusions. Those who believe that "Let Freedom Ring" is right-wing political nonsense ought to reserve judgement until after reading - it's really a fact-based, logical progression of arguments that lead you to ask: "why don't more people know about this?". If basing your conclusions upon facts is conservative, then a conservative I'll be.

Summary: Decent Yet Clearly Biased
Review: As a Libertarian, I thought Let Freedom Ring was a decent book that brings out several key issues that face America. However, I was not impressed with the name-calling and obvious finger pointing that oozed through the entire book. This is clearly a book written by a passionate conservative and to his credit, it is okay. That's what free speech is all about! However, more facts and less name-calling are required in order for anyone to take it seriously.

Summary: Hannity's honesty is hard for liberals to handle...
Review: You can tell who the liberals are on these reviews, it's anti-Americanism at it's finest; okay yeah Clinton is no longer President, deal with it. Generally liberals lack honesty, common sense, and courage. Courage to do what is right, courage to take action in the face of adversity. This is why liberals are always against war. They are against war of any kind because they lack the courage to fight, even in the name of survival and freedom. Yeah yeah, go ahead and call me a "hawk" you liberals, I'd rather be a hawk than an effeminate liberal any day.

Summary: Excellent Enlightening Read
Review: I started listening to Sean Hannity about a year ago and shortly there after I bought his book. In his book he speaks straight from his heart on a lot of issues and really takes time to get his points across. I was impressed with the dedication of his book to his wife and children which in my mind speaks for itself. I really enjoyed this book and it gave me a better idea of his overall views. Sean mixes strong opinion without completely blasting people of the opposite viewpoint. The writing style will not make for a perfect read but it is not supposed to be a gripping novel. He speaks very plainly and lays everything out in the open. Agree, or disagree, either way this is an interesting read. Some things he uncovers will open your eyes about the world around us and cause you to really think. He is enthralling and delightful and I would recommend this to anybody interested in the current political landscape.

Summary: Embarassing Swill
Review: Following the footsteps blazed by Rush Limbaugh a decade ago, talk show blabbermouth Sean Hannity has cut and pasted a few dozen conservative bromides together and created a book. For serious conservatives like yours truly, this book sinks to the level of utter banality and makes one almost ashamed that one shares the same basic philosophy as Sean Hannity. Mr. Hannity's insipid, dull tome is for conservatives who have uncritical minds, like Sean's, and who obediently root for any politician with an R by his name no matter how much the Republican may deviate from genuine conservatism. If you currently thrill to the current $ 100 billion war (whatever became of fiscal conservatism, anyway?) in which a Third World nation's army is being blasted to smithereens by the world's first and fourth greatest military powers, this is the book for you. Typical of Hannity's "work" is his foaming at the mouth over the lack of respect some on the Left have for the Pledge of Allegience. In one of the ironically ridiculous episodes in what passes for political dialogue in this day and age, Hannity hysterically defends the Pledge, apparently unaware that the Pledge was written in the late 1800s by a New England socialist named Bellamy. The Pledge, mindlessly droned by millions of school children every school day, is not only meaningless, it isn't even conservative in its premise. Finally, Hannity refuses to cross swords with those in his Republican Party who have abandoned the conservatism that he alleges to defend. Hannity mentions America's immigration woes without mentioning George W. Bush's rather large contribution in exacerbating the problem. In the end, this book isn't about original ideas. Sean Hannity hasn't any. It is about Sean Hannity exploiting his current fame to sell books to half-educated conservatives so that he can become a millionaire and this has most probably happened. Rush Limbaugh perfected the formula; Sean Hannity has copied the master.

Summary: Hannity Tells It Like It Is
Review: Sean Hannity explains the world view of many American conservatives: moralistic on many social issues; libertarian on tax and governmental regulation; assertive on national defense and America's role in the world. The strength of this book is its simple and straight-ahead writing. The author is to the point and without the invective that mars some otherwise worthwhile conservative tomes. He makes very good use of example, drawing on many anecdotes and documented recent history to expose the shallowness of many liberals and liberal positions, at least at the national level. The anecdotes and examples are what gives the book its power. Citing the 9th Circuit Federal Court's decision to stop the Pledge of Allegiance, Tom Daschell's changing positions on issues to fit the party in control of the White House, a host of Democrat presidential candidate's change of heart (probably a bad metaphor on this issue) on abortion to suite their national aspirations, and Congressional assault on American intelligence and defense agencies in the 1970's, give credence to his view that much of liberal policy and action are either wrong-headed or entirely cynical. This is a quick book whose meat is with Hannity's documentation of his charges and point of view. Wrapped around this is Hannity's personal story and emergence as a conservative voice. The book's weakness is that sometimes Hannity makes bald assertions and generalizations, and doesn't always back them up with facts. I don't have any difficulty agreeing with the author and most of his assertions because I've spent a lot of time studying the same issues. But someone who is erudite but not studied might think the book is too thin in some of its charges. On the other hand, this book is probably perfectly written for those seeking to buttress their strong conservative beliefs with some facts and history. All in all, a good effort among the growing list of popular conservative books.

Summary: Dangerous propaganda !
Review: Hannity uses a patriotic decoy to sell his ultra-conservative views about American values and freedom, whereas in reality he's trying to build a bulletproof jail for your mind. What's really infuriating is that he constantly wraps himself with the American flag and uses God to push his garbage out. Shame on you, Mr. Hannity! Bottom line, you are either "with" him or "against" him. Be careful if you dare to disagree with Mr. Hannity, he may assume you are related to "Al-Qaeda". It's not his fault, his anger blinds him. A basic course on humanitarianism and a bit of therapy would do Hannity plenty of good. Bush and Hannity - separated at birth?

Summary: Radio Noise on Paper
Review: It always amazes me how these neo-fascist nuts always talk about "values" and "freedom" but they are always trying to establish a police state; dictating what you should think and how you should behave in your own bedrooms. What's worse, radio stations hire these human bullhorns to go on air and spout their vitriolic nonsense across this country. Their ideas are the only ideas, peace through war, freedom through oppression, etc.... And now we have "the hottest new phenomenon", sheesh. Any child can get on the radio and/or write a book expousing their paranoia, hypocracy and isolationist viewpoints, its easy to be arrogant and close-minded. Why would any American want to support these cretins by buying one of their books is beyond me.
