Rating: Summary: Obviously mistaken Review: It seems as if Jack Hornsby from Mandeville, LA is a bit mistaken... He thinks that we were founded a Democracy. That's shameful that he can't even remember the "Pledge of Allegiance" or that he didn't even read Article IV Section 4 of the Constitution that he mentioned. We are and were founded on a REPUBLIC! A democracy is a different form of government. We are NOT a democracy, we are a Republic. While a republic is a form of democracy, there are some very large differences between the two. I highly suggest you look up the differences. Once you do, you'll see why Sean is right. Not to mention that we were founded on Christian values, sir. Not to mention, Liberalism was an *EXTREMELY* different view in the early years of America than it is now. The average liberal (Tom Daschle) isn't what it was years ago. Same could be said for Conservatives as well. However, Sean represents the true side of the Conservative. He's right... Our country, which IS a republic, was founded on conservative republic ideals. I suggest that before people read this book, they read about what the differences between a democracy and a republic are first... Not to mention, read over the constitution a few times and even the Declaration of Independence. Read some American history first. Learn some about America. Don't be like Mr. Hornsby... educated yourself. This book requires a knowledge of American History.
Rating: Summary: A Patriot? Review: I am always sceptical of people who wrap themselves in the flag and using it as a backdrop on this book cover should have set off alarms in my mind before I bought. I find it particularly offensive the comments he makes about JFK. This man was seriously injured serviing his country in one of the most dangerous war time jobs, then stood firm against the Communists in the Cuban Crisis. Wearing the flag makes you as much a patriot as wearing a 49ers shirt makes you a quarterback.
Rating: Summary: do you like him? Review: Did I hear someone say 'intelligence'? The guy should go back to high school and review his civilization and humanity course.
Rating: Summary: Since when is liberty a conservative ideal? Review: I don't mind so much that Hannity is extremely self-righteous; most ultra-conservatives, and ultra-liberals in fact, are. What makes me mad is that he insists America was founded on conservative principles of freedom, liberty, and Judeo-Christian values (by which, of course, he means Christian values). In fact, when the Constitution was written, democracy was an extremely liberal idea. At the time, monarchy was the trend in most "civilized" countries, and with the Constitution, America became the first democracy since ancient Greece. Of course, today, democracy has become much less liberal since the rise of socialism. Hannity forgets that the ideals he defends were once radically liberal.
Rating: Summary: Don't waste your time Review: A book by an ignorant man. What a waste of time
Rating: Summary: The dumbing down of America Review: This book wasn't written it was pasted and copied. No original thought but plenty of arrogance. The author is the true UGLY AMERICAN who is always right and has God on his side. Thankfully there are many parts of the world that are lightyears ahead of this Republican backwarding thinking mentality. Someday America will get back on track to progressive thinking.
Rating: Summary: The Joy of Truthfulness in Media Assessment Review: Few men have had the courage to take on the media elite like Sean Hannity as this book clearly shows. Most impressive is its forthrightness in exposing the hypocrisy of double standards set by liberals for conservatives but which they will not apply to their own. Hard-hitting and truthful, Mr. Hannity puts forth his vision of a strong and patriotic American agenda that restores the nation to its rightful place envisioned by its founders. He is especially critical of the Democratic party axioms that push values of the party elite while ignoring grass-roots Americana. This book is a must-read for all who have longed for an opportunity to see expressions of patriotism which have been often maligned in the past few decades revived and energized.
Rating: Summary: Hits it on the Head Review: Sean hits the topics right on the head. He not only puts out the conservative view and shows how the left is vastly flawed as a political philosophy, but he backs up the claims that he makes. He shows how the Left has ignored domestic issues that will benefit the whole, how the Left thinks that the people of this country can't make decisions for themselves and they are better suited to make decisions for us, and how left, no matter what they say or do, flip-flop on all issues and try to turn everything into a political agenda for them. If you are a conservative or not sure, this is a must read book, if you are a leftist liberal, this book will show what your own party and people won't.
Rating: Summary: Hooray for Hannity! Review: Hannity shoots straight from the hip and this book is for anyone who likes his show or his message, or both!
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Overview of Conservatism Review: This book will give you the ammunition to win arguments with your liberal friends. It's an easy and enjoyable read.
