Summary: THE BEST BOOK EVER!
Review: This has everything that I want in a book, romance, adventure, not heroes, but heroines! It has a lot of action, which iswhat makes a book exellent in my opinion! This book is exellent for girls 8-13 years old, but I recommened it for everyone! I firt read it when I was 10 years old, but I lent it to some of my younger friends and they loved it. Now I'm 12 years old and I still like this book the best out of ALL of Ms. Pierce's books! Of course you should read the first book, Alanna: The First Adventure, before you read this. I strongly recommned that you get both the 3rd and the 4th books before you finish this. READ THIS BOOK!

Summary: It's the best!
Review: I loved this book if you ask me it's the best in the series. There are a lot of firsts in the book for Alanna. She is in her first major battle (a war), she learns how to love someone, and she finally gets comfortable with being a woman. Read it you'll love it.

Summary: KNIGHT VISION
Review: hello again.

This book continues on from THE FIRST ADVENTURE and it is alright, not as good as the one before or after it, but alright.

Alanna and Jon are to go to war, she gets kidnapped and of course Jon, the brave, goes out and rescues her. Myles shares his feelings about thinking Alanna is a girl to Jon. And the inevetible happens: SHOCK HORROR! Alanna and Jon go and have sex. of course they fall in love first, but it is still so predictable.

Even if the story is not all great, the characters are. Don't get me wrong or anything, some parts of this book are excellent, but the other works of Ms Pierce's are better.

Summary: One Word: Read!
Review: This is my favorite book out of the Song of the Lioness series. It's got the training, the war, a smidge of romance, the revelation of the bad guy to everyone..this book really illustrates Alanna's boldness and great development in her character. In the 1st book, you got to know the basis of Alanna. In this book, it builds. In the name of Mithros, PLEASE read this book!

Summary: Getting worse . . .
Review: This book was pretty disappointing - the heroine was SO predictable with the way she acted. It's pointless! Nowadays, all the heroines are striving to be "tough", falling in love with everyone in sight, sleeping with them, and still unable to decide when a proposal comes along. This explains her attitude throughout the whole quartet, but I just wanted to say that here to warn readers: don't get your hopes up too high.

The book itself is good, with a well-worked, exciting plot, but the heroine is just barely tolerable! I almost didn't want to read the rest of her books! Oh, well, I'll leave you people to make your own decisions about this book. Read it! (Even if Alanna is a stuck-up, bratty player!)

Summary: A real let-down
Review: Since I read the first Alanna book and liked it a lot, I naturally expected this one to be just as good. It isn't. The plot is exciting, and the characters are engaging, but...ewww. Tamora Pierce seems to think that if you are three months into puberty and still not sleeping with someone, there is something wrong with you.

Summary: The Best Book In the Quartet
Review: I've read the four books, and I love the first, second and fourth book, but this second one is my favourite. Alanna met the Goddess, start romance, master a lot in all sorts of fight, and also magic, got Jonathan, Thom, Faithful, Lighting, Moonlight, George, Gary, Raoul, Duke Gareth, Myles, and many others supporting her. The story is very exciting, always with something to think about. I just love the book! And Alanna too!

Summary: Roger's actually one of the good points in the book...
Review: Don't think I'm wierd, but I actually sorta liked Roger. No, don't worry, not LIKE liked, liked the fact that he's an accomplished sorcerer (why is it that most Good mages are called Mages, and Bad mages are called Sorcerers or Wizards?), and that he had a MAJORLY TWISTED mind. He's also a good addition to the plot; it makes the book MUCH more interesting there's someone who needs to be, ahem, shall we say, Disposed Of.The first book had Ralon of Malven and the Ysandir, this book has Roger. Although in the last book you realize that perhaps Alanna was not quite, ah, thorough when she Disposed Of Roger. Hint Hint, Wink Wink <evil grin> Also, don't read this book first. I did, and I was Totally Confused during the 3 weeks it took me to get the first book from the library. ~dragonblade

Summary: Amazing and wondeful for every one!
Review: You MUST read this book! Alanna is seriously my hero. I first read this book when I was 10 and I that in Alanna, girls especially can find a strong person to look up to. This is my favorite book in the whole Alanna series, and one of my favorite books in general. It is full of action, magic and excitment.I highly recommend it to anyone! Everyone should read this book (especially girls 8-12). It is age appropriate, in terms of content, nothing that a 8 or 9 year couldn't handle. It is a book you will not want to put down. YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK! please!

Summary: The Best Book in the Series
Review: Hey y'all this is the best book I've ever read. It is certainly the best in the series, but of course read the first one first(Alanna, The First Adventure)! I like that there was so much in the book it had everything, magic, adventure, romance, death, I mean everything! I think in this book Alanna really grows up, out of all the books you see the most vulnerable human part of her than in any of the other ones, actually almost a liitle to much unlike her. That was the only thing I didn't like avout the book, she was almost so afraid of certain things it didn't seem like her. Besides that it is the best book I've read. Every one should read it!
