Rating: Summary: Very captivating. Review: I really liked this story because it shows that even a woman can live her dream and become the Lioness
Rating: Summary: Total BS! Review: This book was the biggest disappointment in my life! The cliches were beyond what I had imagined! And this is written for 9-12 year olds? I fear the sexual standards this sets for them. After all if Alanna was going to do it with someone, at least do it with someone who is sincerely serious about you. I'm not going to dis out Jon here, because words cannot describe this loathesome bastard. But GOD! Don't waste your time with this regurgitated, media inspired, crap. If you want a strong, realistic, female lead go read Yukito Kishiro's Battle Angel Alita. That is actually worth your money. It's real sad that a MAN knows how to make a better heroine, than one of my fellow women.
Rating: Summary: Great book but what happend to Gary Review: Great book but what happend to Gary the page who helped trainAlanna he was running even with George and Prince Jonathon to marryAlanna
Rating: Summary: The Best. Simply. Review: This is definitely the best of Tamora's books. I mean like, all of them. It's my favourite out of all of the quartet, probably because there is actually a war, while the rest of the time she is training or drifting, not really using what she learned while training to become a knight. I, personally, am glad that she fought Duke Roger, became a knight, and fought a war all in the same book. It's a book to savour.
Rating: Summary: A fantastic tale of triumph and believing in yourself. Review: After reading all four books in this particular series, In the Hand of the Goddess remains my favorite. Alanna, disguised as a boy, must keep her secret in order to fulfill her dream of becoming a knight. She is a girl's inspiration, believing in herself and never giving up. Her friendships with the clever prince and the charming theif make her adventures all the more interesting. This book is truly worth reading again and again.
Rating: Summary: This book desearves 10 stars Review: I have read both the Immortals and the Song of the Lioness series and I have to say I liked the Alanna books much better. And of those four this is the absolute best!! Roger is the best all time villan, George is one of Tamora's best charicters, and all the other's are just great! I really hope that her new series are as good as this one!!
Rating: Summary: A Romantic and Way Great Book Review: When I read the first one, I was waiting for more. And I got what I asked for. This book was one of the best in the series. I recommend it for ages 11 and up. It has suspense, adventure, thrill, and a little romance tossed in too! Read it! You won't be sorry....
Rating: Summary: ****Tamora Pierce's Best Book**** Review: I will tell you something I read this 209 page book in one day!!!!! It is one of the best books I have ever read. It is the best in the series. It is adventures, fun and Alanna gets a romance going. Believe me, after you finish this book you will go running to the book store to get The Woman Who Rides Like a Man, which is also great. Song of the Lioness Is the best series!
Rating: Summary: A Must Read! Review: The second book in the Loiness Quartet is by far the best. It offers alittle bit of everything: love, fear, action and suspence. I like how the story starts out, forshadowing what is to come. Alanna is a strong leading female character that one doesn't come across very often. I personally like this book in the series the best, but would suggest reading the series in order (it causes less confusion!).
Rating: Summary: I think this was the best book of all time Review: The book In the Hand of the Goddess was clerverly written and it diserves two thuumbs up. This book inspired me to write and while I know I will nver be as good a writer I still look to this book for ideas. People who give it a low rating have obviously had not read the book with an open mind because all the people that read it that I talk to say it is awesome and it is.
